Why does my 2nd steep taste “lighter/cleaner” than my 1st of ginger/turmeric tea?

I just started getting into tea a lot more seriously. For years, I just drank Trader Joe’s ginger turmeric, and a variety of other brands, but started recently bought Rishi loose leaf. It’s good but one strange thing to me is that I seemed to prefer the second steep because the first one has kind of a viscous mouth feel almost and taste stronger.

Does this make sense to anyone? I suppose I could rinse off the leaves once, then steep it for the first time but I wasn’t aware you did that with tisanes.

Thanks for any help.

Best way to sell cards like this?

I made a post about my father‘s collection about a month ago. For whatever reason, he has multiple cards that are duplicates of each other. We’ve decided to hold onto the bulk of the collection for now for sentimental reasons but given we aren’t sentimentally attached to multiple of the same card, I thought I would ask the best way to sell stuff like this.

Someone in the previous thread said it was not really worth it to get these graded but to attempt to sell them on here, I think?

Thanks for any help. Just looking for advice.

How do I set my air purifier to run on low for 30 minutes at the top of the hour every hour?

Completely new to Govee as of an hour ago. Holy hell this timer/scheduling situation is a nightmare.

Couple quick questions re: my father’s collection.

I posted about a week ago saying that my brothers and I are considering selling or at least doing something with my father’s collection. He basically has around 50 cards from each of the Bowman 51, 52 and Topps 52 collections.

I put all of the cards into TCDB and it spit out that the collection is worth $3,000 or so. Given that it’s a fairly low amount of money if we ended up selling them all, assuming it would get less than 50% of that, we may just end up keeping them.

But, we have no use for the 4 Warren Spahn cards that he had given they are all the same card. They range from poor to fair to good to quite good in my eyes. Since this card could be worth selling one or two or three of… I have to pay for a membership to PSA, pay for what I expect the value of the card to be to get it graded, hope that it doesn’t get graded over what I guessed or incur another fee, and then have authentication to potentially sell it? Let’s say I could sell the best condition card for $1,000. I’m basically sinking half of that into the PSA grading?

I guess I just had that one question but perhaps you could give me an overall impression based on what I’ve said. Thanks for the help.

What to do with my father’s collection?

I’m not necessarily asking for how much this is worth since I’m aware it’s not particularly valuable. But, he’s got a lot of interesting stuff like autographs from players on postcards and historical magazines and ticket stubs and what not. Unfortunately, we just don’t have any sentimental attachment and feel it could be better served by someone that enjoys this stuff than sitting at the bottom of the closet.

Is there an entity that would be interested in looking at all this stuff and telling me it’s significance? There is much more than the cards my brother sent me photos of. I’m not sure why he didn’t document it better.

Sorry, kind of overwhelmed by everything.

Edit: thanks for the feedback. Sorry I haven’t gotten back to nearly everyone, in this post or via DM. I will get back to each of you in time. I am going to catalogue everything in a spreadsheet as some have suggested. What time-consuming, worth the effort and a nice way to somewhat honor my dad’s childhood.

PSA: wait 2-3 days if you want Ranked matches to be easier.

All the sweats and unemployed nerds blah blah are immediately rushing to finish ranked. After two or three days, ideally longer, they will have gotten to MB and the match difficulty will drop.

I have had some kind of skin tag on me for at least two decades that has turned into this…

AI, of course, says it’s skin cancer, so I thought I should check since I can’t get into a dermatologist for a couple of weeks. No acute injury or reason it would change that I know of. Just one day realized when I was washing or scratching my face that it kind of hurt and looked and realized it was red and this. As I said, prior to this, it was a skin tag or whatever it was for two or three decades.

Thanks for any help!

Projector repair recommendations for an Epson 5050..

AVSForums said it was a burned out polarizer, the two places that Epson sent me to charged somewhere between $1500-$2000 for repair. I tried to sell it on eBay and was offered $250.

Is there anyone out there that can fix this for less than an arm and a leg? Thanks in advance for any help.

According to AVSForum, after 3.5 years of use, a polarizer likely burned out in my 5050. I get a pink blob and green Quake symbol when I use the projector.

Epson said I could send it to a repair center and those estimates came in at around $1500-2000 to fix. I tried to sell it on eBay w/ a reserve of $500 and the most I got was an offer for $250.

I can't afford to sink $2k into repairing it since I'm a high school teacher. Any last ditch thoughts about what I can do about this? Anyone? Bueller?

Thanks in advance for any help.
