I Reviewed Flesh Made Fear (PS5). I Feel Like It Didn't Quite Nail The Concept

Hey, I'm not sure if linking away is allowed here at all, so I'm posting my video directly here as I know that this sub is definitely gonna have even more enthusiastic and knowledgable fans of survival horror here compared to me. This is how I felt about the game after being quite pumped to play it, but I was wondering if I really am in the minority with this. I'm always up for a good discussion.

Games jump to high ping for a while

I was wondering if anyone else has an issue with their ping will suddenly skyrocket up to a very high number and then just stay there, sometimes for a minute or two and sometimes longer. If so, does anyone know what could cause something like that? Everything else in the house is fine in terms of Internet and I’ve tried switching off other devices to see if something is affecting it but it seems like it’s possibly the connection to the overwatch servers themselves or something.

David Perel (RSA) wins in Silver Class with Rinaldi at the Spa 24 Hour race

Congrats to one of our boys for taking a victory this weekend. SA drivers really make us proud. If you guys weren’t aware, we have multiple great drivers in GT and Endurance racing. Perel is relatively unknown locally despite winning his 3rd Spa24 now, the Van der Linde brothers are at least known, and then Jordan Pepper is a beast as well - not to forget young Jared Waberski who I actually went to go support and meet his family at a karting race at Zwartkops a few years back (their family are friends of friends) - he has big ambitions and worth keeping an eye on, he was in the bronze class this year.

I’m a massive motorsports and GT fan, and had the absolute privilege of attending the Spa 24 as a guest of David’s in 2018 and it was everything I dreamed of - and that also won their class that year as well. The races are streamed entirely on YouTube and really great to get into, so make sure you check them out if you think you may enjoy it (that first Kyalami 9hr we had here a few years ago was such an incredible event too, I’m sad it kinda fizzled out after Covid hit).

Congratulations David and Rinaldi! Making us proud.

Potential real [Ford GT40] I saw in Francorchamps, Belgium in 2018 but never known if it was the real deal

I'm from South Africa but had a dream come true when I managed to fly to Europe in 2018 to attend the Spa 24 hour, as a friend/client of mine was a driver for one of the Ferrari teams! On the way into Franchorchamps, I saw this parked on the side of the road and immediately stopped to look. In SA, we have some replica GT40s here made by... think they're called Baileys, but I don't believe I'd ever seen a real one. Considering where I saw this, I thought there's a good chance, but I never did get confirmation. So, did I see a real GT40?

PS: I saw a bunch of other incredible cars that week, I should post them up sometime.

We’re completely new to Subnautica (Playing SN2 Co-op)

We’re completely new to these games, so we tried it on our co-op nights and it’s been quite an adventure. I have a question though, does anyone have any spoiler free suggestions for things we should know going forward? This is a video I made of the experience so far, as you can see we are getting by, but it would also be good to know if there’s anything really worth knowing early on that will save us hassle later, especially things like typical mistakes around where to build things or something like that.

Does anyone else here also really dislike the look of Zagato designs?

For a very long time, decades even, I originally never knew what it meant when I saw a car was a "Zagato". All I knew was that I almost surely didn't like the design when I saw it. Does anyone else feel this way about their design traits, or think they might have any thoughts on it that could swing my feelings around and appreciate them?

Star Wars Outlaws 2: The Sequel Nobody Wants (But We Need)

I genuinely wonder if Ubisoft would consider a sequel again after the state of the game down the line and how gamers are reacting positively to it.

Update: The title of the post didn't meet the intent of the video, which was changed to have the title: "Star Wars Outlaws 2: The Sequel We WANT (But They Don't Want to Make)"

Tired of healing 4-5 DPS in 6v6 QP

Guys, please… learn some other classes, and play some other classes.

Yes, I know it’s just QP, and yes I know it’s not role queue, but you know what, it’s tiring always having to be the one to solo heal and babysit 4 or 5 dps players or swap off so that our team can have at least one tank or one healer (and a chance of not getting completely smashed). It’s a team game. If this hasn’t been your experience, I’m genuinely happy for you - but it has been mine.

I don’t even mind having to support 3dps most games, but if you join a round and there are already 3dps heroes locked in, please consider playing tank or support. Worst is when I’m in a team with 4-5 auto-lock DPS players, and if we start losing, they leave the game. Also as annoying, they finally swap off to tank or healer when there’s 15 seconds left in the game.

There are 52 heroes in the game now, so there’s so many different styles of play to choose from, and honestly so many of support characters are really great fun to play (it’s why I play them so often).

I do have the feeling that I’m preaching to the choir a bit on the subreddit. To all of you who do what it takes to help the team - I salute you, and thank you for your service.

On the plus side, I’ve gotten really, really good at solo healing - so thanks for that I guess!

TL;DR: Try playing support and tank more instead of adding a 3rd, 4th or 5th dps to every 6v6 game. Some of us also want to know what it feels like to play DPS aaand have a healer on the team.

Massive drop in game quality after server region change

I'm actually really hoping that this will get through to Blizzard somehow.

South Africans are being routed to Middle-East servers instead of EU like before, which is causing games to be much lower in quality, also due to a smaller player pool (despite the better ping). We are thinking to rather stop playing than to continue playing on these servers and would like to make a serious request to Blizzard / Overwatch support to route South Africans to European servers once more. You have no idea how much this has affected our ability to enjoy the game.

Some players have previously used IP-Filtering/Blocking to block Middle East servers, but in the past few months something has changed that causes players to still connect to UAE games, but then the IP filtering just causes the game to never connect/load - so it doesn’t work anymore.

We know it sounds like a silly matter to some, but the change has had a HUGE and notable effect on the quality of games for us (also, what’s with UAE players constantly spamming voice lines, tea-bagging and not playing with teamwork – its so weird how different general regions’ players can be so different).

Where can we get this to support in a way that they may take our issue seriously and reroute our region (I mean, a region selector would solve all of this but Blizzard doesn’t seem to care about adding one still).

I've made almost the same post over on the Blizzard Overwatch forums as well. Chances are slim, but we can only hope that something gets done, because its really bummed us all out.

What all Ferrari owners will have to deal with after the launch of the Luce

u/nickdebruyne — 1 month ago

Does it really deserve to be called a real F- "halo" car?

With debates going around, I want to really settle things once and for all about this so-called Halo car that dares stand shoulder-to -shoulder with the greats like the 288gto or the LaFerrari.

Can it really be called a true member of the halo cars considering it goes against so many aspects of what we all consider to be a "Ferrari".

First of all, it doesn't even have a V12, I mean it's not even naturally aspirated. Then you've got the styling, which honestly just looks way too blocky and is a complete departure from the curves and styling that Ferrari was famous for since its inception. I don't care if it's great to drive around a track... it doesn't mean anything when you take it for a drive around Monaco and its so badly shown up by the beautiful lines of the other cars driving around. A true halo car should be a V12, have curves and beauty and still be able to impress around a track.

Aaaaaaaanyways, enough about the F40. What do you guys think of the F80?

:D

Finally Watched Amityville Horror (1979) and It Really Holds Up

When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s, I missed out on a lot of the great horror movies of the time because I was pretty much too young to see them, so I never did. My backlog has been pretty hefty as a result, but today I finally got to see the original Amityville Horror and man, was I pleasantly surprised.

It holds up so well. As someone who doesn't really find anything scary or shocking anymore, I actually found the quiet scenes with nothing more than characters looking around, or the shots focusing on reactions to be so much more unnerving than the approach of so many of today's (or just other) horror films.

It also makes me realise how much I wish we got a return of movies that have periods of time where there’s only silence and talking, and not constant dominant ambient sound or musical score. Also they need to let audio levels blow out again. Old school movie shouts and screams have such a distinct vibe to them because the audio blows out a bit. It actually really enhances the terror of the moment a lot though. Possibly a technical limitation or norm of the time, and you just wouldn't catch anyone doing much of that these days on purpose.

I do have one question though, which is always fun. What was this like for anyone that saw it when it had just come out in theatres. Was it seen as wild and horrifying at the time?

Next classic one I gotta get to: Poltergeist.

So happy to see a [Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona] on the road today. Been a while!

▲ 10 r/Ferrari

I have a question around the new design language and want to hear your thoughts.

The 12Cilindri mimicks the 365 Daytona design - but it has been criticised greatly for being ugly despite basically looking like a modern-retro 365. The 849 Testarossa (even the F80) is a completely new direction that Ferrari is aiming for, but many are complaining because it doesn't look like the 80s Testarossa (which as we know, looked nothing like the 50s Testarossa).

Are Ferrari damned if they do, damned if they don't where public opinion is concerned? Do you prefer the "retro" approach like the 12C, or the new direction approach of the 849/F80.

(For the record, I think the SP3 is the best looking Ferrari of the recent era by a mile - But I actually like the 12C and 849 designs as something different)
