Am I being overly sensitive or the stereotypical jokes are getting actually annoying?

I have two friends, one Syrian and the other Palestinian, and every time I talk to them, they start talking about the things their countries have in common and how good their relationship is without including us. At first, I was okay with it, even tho I did feel a little like I was being treated as the odd one out.

But I started getting really uncomfortable when they began making fun of our dialect and saying stereotypical things about us, using stereotypical names and stuff like that, as you probably know, to the point they started calling me "George" at some point (I'm a girl). Without even realizing it, I found myself withdrawing from the group and gravitating more toward my north african friends. With them, conversations are never centered around our origins or dialects, they're so chill, I feel comfortable with them, and I genuinely feel like we're just friends who spend time together and have fun.

But then I noticed that my syrian and palestinian friends started posting hints and indirect comments on social media yk that mindset, to the point where we eventually talked about it. They told me that I was trying to "please" my North African friends and that I was trying to be like them, that upset me even more cuz that's not what this is about at all.

It's strange to me that they could misunderstand friendship in such a way it's actually SICKENING, after we talked about the issue, I went back to talking to them a little, but they still have the same mindset, every time I say something in our dialect or in French, they turn my entire country into a joke, and if I get upset, they tell me I'm overreacting and that "no one will ever understand us the way they do."

At this point, being friends with them has become completely uncomfortable, and I don't want this kind of friendship anymore but how can I make them understand that? **Without blaming entire countries or nationalities, of course**. It's specifically these two girls that I can no longer be the butt of the joke for it's crazy how I'm always the third wheel there, they'd invite me to the convo then start talking abt how they get along and making inside jokes that when I try to understand they brush me off with a stereotypical annoying joke.

But every time I talk to genuinely positive people, they act like I'm looking down on them, trying to please the others, or denying my own roots. I feel like I'm stuck in a loop, cuz everything they say affects me since we've been friends for years.

I'm scared that I'm actually the bad person for throwing away a friendship that has lasted for years, but this friendship genuinely drains me. Every time I talk to them, I feel like I'm losing all my confidence, but now I doubt even my friendship with others and I see myself as dumb for leaving friends that are culturally close to me and preferring others, even tho my Algerian/Moroccan friends made me feel nothing but pure fun.

Lebanese "artists"

Am I the only one who gets really frustrated with our "artists"? I don't know, but they seem completely out of touch with reality.

They keep trying to sell a false image of who we are. And no, I'm not talking about "being open-minded or not", I mean our actual lives.

Our lives are miserable, yet most of our actors keep making/remaking TV shows that have absolutely nothing to do with us. Why do they think that's necessary? What's the point of art if it doesn't reflect real life in some way?

And it's not just the actors. It's the singers too, every song is about "life," "let's enjoy life," or "we're having the time of our lives" , I don't mind positivity, but why lie?

Our situation is terrible, yet we're constantly trying to look like America or other wealthy countries and whenever someone speaks honestly about reality, people tell them, "ktir negative, just enjoy life it's not that serious" Not that serious? What's not that serious? The fact that we're humiliated among nations?

Of course it's easy for those "artists" to say that, they don't even live in this country anymore.

Most of them leave, build comfortable, luxurious lives abroad, then send us songs that practically brainwash Lebanese people into believing we can somehow dance and sing our way to progress while our country keeps falling apart and nothing actually improves.

What's the point of being an artist if you're not going to use your influence to make a real difference? Why should I be proud of you because you took a Turkish TV series and remade it? Do you really think you gave us a reason to be proud by acting in a luxury villa and kissing women on screen?

That's not who we are, and honestly, it's not even who they are either. They're just trying to imitate a lifestyle that has nothing to do with us.

They're so obsessed with impressing outsiders that they've forgotten they're representing a country that's already falling apart by the same outsiders they're trying to impress.

found out crush is taken

I recently found out that the guy I had a crush on is in a relationship. Looking back, all the hope I built from eye contact and the little moments I thought meant something now feels completely one-sided.

What makes it harder is that I also find myself feeling a little jealous of his girlfriend. She's from a country with far more opportunities, and I can't help but think about how many advantages that can bring in life. I don't hate her at all. It's just a feeling of disappointment that I'm trying to process.

Sometimes I catch myself thinking that she's incredibly lucky. Not only does she have opportunities that I wish I had, but she also ended up with the person I fell for. I know life doesn't work by keeping score, but it still hurts to feel that way.

They're also very open and proud of each other. They have each other's Instagram accounts in their bios with "I love you" and stuff. I honestly had no idea they were together. If I had known, I would've stopped myself from falling for him in the first place, he calls her "my girl" and she calls him "my man" and it just stings I'm not gonna lie.

Now I just feel foolish because, at one point, I think my feelings became somewhat obvious, and he also gave me a few signals that made me think there might be something there. Looking back now, I can't help but wonder if I was just someone who entertained his ego for a while.

What hurts the most is that I truly believed we would've been very compatible. We share so many interests and similar views on things, and that's what breaks my heart the most. Now someone else gets to experience that connection, and he probably feels they're a perfect match.

I'm not going to do anything about it. I'll step away completely, and I genuinely wish them happiness. I'm only sharing this because I'm going through sadness, jealousy, and denial after finding out. I'm already going through an emotionally exhausting period, so I'd really appreciate it if the comments could be kind rather than make things harder for me.

Being a virgin

I just discovered this community. I came here hoping that maybe I would find someone who thinks like me, but not everyone does, honestly. Some people here seem desperate, and that’s understandable , everyone has their own priorities and needs in life.

But personally, I love being a virgin. It’s something I chose to keep by my own will, even tho I was called a “heartthrob” in high school and even now in university and have been chased by many. I've never accepted even a relationship without sex, cuz I simply believe I deserve more than a few minutes of pleasure.

This is genuinely a belief that comes from within me. I don’t want to build a relationship with someone I know isn’t serious, because what would be the point? I don’t feel like I’m missing anything either. I’m very happy with my life, and I have the right to choose.

I’ve noticed that being a virgin has become something people shame others for on social media, and honestly, I find that really sad. Don’t people realize that there are still people with a very strong sense of self-worth?

This is my body that I will share with someone. This is my body that will experience those things. I have every right to take all the time in the world. I want to experience it while I'm feeling loved and safe, I want to **give it** to someone I love, like when words are no longer enough we have to make love to express it.

In real life, some people couldn’t believe that I had never been in a relationship before. They would say, “That’s impossible, you’re so beautiful.” But that’s not what defines me. I'm more than just a body and a face. I'm a person who has the right to choose the life that makes me comfortable.

Also some people sarcastically deny it, saying, “There’s no way you’re a virgin,” because it makes them question themselves: “How can we be weak in front of our desires while she isn’t?”

Yes, I have control over my body, my mind, and my actions. I know what I want. I value myself, and no one will have me unless they truly deserve me. Either someone takes all of me (through marriage and commitment) or they get nothing at all.

This is who I am, and I'm completely comfortable with my decision. I'm not rushing anything. I still have many other things in life to focus on and worry about other than orgasms of a few seconds. Crazy how ppl prioritise it nowadays.

Why do I wake up to an orgasm?

Sometimes I wake up because of orgasmic shudders, even tho I haven’t touched myself or done anything that could cause it (sleep and wake up in the same position). I’m asleep, and then my mind fabricates a dream (one that would never arouse me irl) just in the last few seconds before I wake up from the waves of pleasure and contractions. As I said, it’s as if my mind is just making up a dream to match what’s happening to my body. Also, I never touch myself, and It happens even when I'm not in the mood at all. Does anyone have an explanation to that or has experiencd the same thing?

I'm truly concerned it may be a neurological problem or something like that.

Why do I always pull younger guys?

Without even trying, I always end up pulling younger guys ,even those who don't necessarily "confess" or want a relationship, they end up pouring their hearts out, opening up to me abt their personal problems and all like I'm their closest friend even if they just sat with me for a day, I always wondered why especially cuz I'm so calm and don't give off that energetic wild person energy, I even think of myself as boring cuz I always reject and don't go for risky things. Is there any reason why guys fall for older girls? Even if just by a year or two?

Highs and lows during pregnancy

Is every high/low a danger on the baby and the pregnancy experience overall? Like if you once go low do you need to contact the doctor after treating it and after every episode? + Do the lows and highs have the same dangers? If so, what's more dangerous?
