I had a reaction to Skin+Me

I have melasma on my right cheek, so I decided to give Skin+Me a try.

The adverse reaction was so severe—I can't believe something like this could affect me so much.

Shortly after I started using it (daily doser), I developed an excruciating headache and terrible pain in my left eye that lasted for two days until I stopped using the product; I also experienced nausea and some dizziness.

Is this something I should be concerned about regarding any active ingredients in any products?

Here are the ingredients:

Tretinoin 0.012%,

Niacinamide 4%, and

Azelaic Acid 4%.

London to NI

Hi everyone, I have an appointment at the embassy and need my passport sent to me at the end of the month. I have to bring a prepaid envelope; I already went to the post office, but they didn't have a clue (I live in the countryside). What option should I ask for at the post office? What kind of envelope or postage? It’s for delivery from London to Northern Ireland.

Thanks everyone.

Neck skin

The skin on my neck is looking terrible (F36)

I have lots of tiny skin tags so small they can't be treated by freezing and I can see many clogged pores that look like blackheads.

I suspect my work clothes are the cause, so I’ve switched entirely to cotton t-shirts, though friction might also be a factor.

What is the best product for the neck?

What can I do to fix this or improve the appearance of the skin in my neck?

It feels very rough to the touch.

Do I have to pay anything?

Unfortunately, I won't be able to start my course in October; I’m truly heartbroken. I had applied for Student Finance NI back in may, and I am receiving a Universal Credit (UC) top-up. I work full-time and I am a single person with children. During my meeting with UC(my meeting was last week), I was told I couldn't stop working and because I’d be a student, my UC payments would drop significantly—meaning my children and I wouldn't be able to survive. Between the responsibilities of parenthood, house, working full-time, and studying full-time, it’s simply impossible for me. Now that I’ve submitted all my applications, will I have to pay anything to the OU or Student Finance NI?

I was approved for the part-time student fee rate, but I still had to pay about £1,500 out of my pocket; I received an email today stating that if I don't pay, the matter will be referred to a debt collector, so I’ve already sent emails letting them know I won't be starting my course in October.

As far as I know, I haven't received any payments yet—what should my next step be?

Advice needed NI

I work part-time at a takeaway and receive UC. We were recently told that the owners are going back to their home country for a six-week holiday; what would happen to my UC in that situation?

How can I quit my job without being penalized by UC? Northern Ireland

Here is some context: I am on UC after leaving an abusive relationship.

I’ve worked at the same place for 7 years and loved it—up until January.

I was the production manager and everything ran smoothly; I was working full-time and receiving a UC top-up.

It’s a family business, but in January, after returning from holidays, the owner’s son started working there and immediately took over the production manager role—my job. My hours were cut, yet my workload increased without a pay raise.

Now he has people that he knows working there too who practically do everything for him, while my workload has doubled; my job involves heavy lifting and physical labour. Yet no one ever helped me in anything.

He literally spends his time watching videos while sitting in a chair near us, supposedly "supervising" (though the place is a complete disaster), and I really can't handle the stress this is causing anymore. The frustration is beyond words.

I hate confrontation, so I don't want to have to deal with that with my boss; he’s a family friend and a decent person, but unfortunately, he brought his son in to work there. I don't even want to confront them because it would be two against one, and ultimately, I’m just an employee.

I’m about to start Uni soon, and I have two children. I’d like to quit, but I’m afraid my UC payments will be penalized—I couldn't survive without that support.

It is stressing me so much, it is frustrating that I just come home and cry of tiredness and frustration because, it is not fair!

So what are my options? How can I quit before going to Uni and not being penalised by UC?

UC and Northern Ireland

I’m a single mom of two looking to make a change in my life, and I’m also seeking a bit of help.

Is there anyone who has taken a full-time course with the OU while on Universal Credit (UC) whom I could ask a couple of questions?

Send computer back.

Has anyone had any luck sending a computer back? I bought one two months ago; my university said they would cover the cost, so I bought a really good one with my own money. Now Uni told me they won't pay for it, and honestly, I can't keep it—I literally used my savings.

Adoption

Motherhood brings me great happiness; I have two beautiful children of my own. Although I would love to have many biological children, it is physically very difficult for me. It has always been on my mind and in my heart that I want to show a child what it’s like to have a loving family, and I have always dreamed of adopting. I would like to consider foster care, though I think it would break my heart to see a child leave our home. What are the chances of a healthy, single F33 being able to adopt?

Recommendations for not being an idiot and messing things up twice.

A little context: the first time I bought a car, I went for a cheap one, private (very stupid). Since I didn't know what to check, I bought a really damaged car, and it ended up costing me a fortune. My mechanic took pity on me, kept the car to fix it and sell it, and literally gave me his grandmother's car with £600 in cash in exchange for mine. I was "lucky", considering I paid almost £4,000 for the other one. He gave me a 2008 Toyota Yaris, which is way too small for me and my kids. But I'm using it because I'm terrified of buying another car, but I think it's time to change it for the comfort of my kids and me. How can I buy a car? Ideally, I think I'll take out a loan from Credit Union and pay it off in one lump.

So these are my questions:

Diesel or petrol?

How many miles should I consider?

Are there any companies that offer a one-year warranty? Leasing a car is a good option? (Armagh-portadow-newry area)

I'm asking here because I don't have any family nearby and I'm completely on my own.

Thanks everyone

Estée Lauder Fake?

Bought I bought this from a seller; it's my first time buying this product. I clicked the "everything is ok" button (silly me I know) 🙄 and was going to leave a review when I started reading the reviews and found several that say they are fake. I have sensitive skin and eyes, and now I'm very afraid to use the product.
