Inspirational quote, help needed

You don’t need to be creative to create - water always finds its way in, either by flowing through narrow channels or by destroying everything when the pressure is high enough - lost family member

General info

Hello,
I’m trying to make a logo for my friend who owns a local repair shop, so nothing of international significance.

Problem is, I have no professional formation, he asked me to do it because it’s nothing too serious and I’m good with PCs

So I watched some videos and tutorials of famous designers to at least know where to start.

His workshop is called DP Garage: since his “brand name” is literally made by his initials I thought that maybe working on those letters would make his workshop easier to remember across town.

Need your feedback

Firstly I need you to look at the attached image and criticize it like the meanest professor you had, this includes technical mistakes such as lines, angles, curves, radius ecc… but also scaling, color suggestions (if any), versatility.

Want another direction

Then I beg one of y’all to give me an idea of another direction to take: initials are easy for beginners but they’re not memorable and just can’t work out how to put together D and P with something mechanical related which doesn’t look banal and soulless like wrenches or gears.

Here’s something to help:
• It focuses on fast and simple everyday repairs
• Since he’s young, he wants the logo to feel professional so people won’t think he lacks of experience
• It’s strengths are fast and affordable repairs that don’t need heavy machinery
• Only motorbikes

P.S: I posted the first version a while ago and tried to improve the existing design following your feedback

The GOAT of backpacks

You know how the GOAT of gaming mouse’s is Logitech 502, Casio’s F91W is the best functional watch in world, Leatherman is the way for multitools and so on?

As far as you know is there a similar product in the backpack category? I need some compartments, laptop sleeve, durable enough for city’s dirty floors (not camping in the wild), better if it has a chest strap for riding bikes.

In my opinion Eastpack and NorthFace are a bit overrated, so if you got any niche brand I’ll be happy to hear it

Love you all

Spriteverse: Synchronize the anomalies

This is the new mobile game app I had in mind:

Lore

A portal from the future released anomalies across our world: sprites, hologram sci-fi creatures, invaded our streets and it’s our duty to synchronize them all to stabilize the anomalies.

Gameplay

Our phone sends us a notification: “Anomaly detected nearby”.
With our camera open we may encounter little light sources: they’re Sprites, right across our hometown streets: keep them in focus to stabilize them and keep them in your collection.
A compass may show the nearest Sprite, usable once every day.
Unique mechanic: Sprites may appear based on the current weather
More unique sprites may take longer time to find

Abilities

Each Sprite provides useful perks to find other ones, like probability, compass reach, boosted weather…
In the future the app may expand in a card fighting game

Fitness features

There will be rewards for completing workouts of different kinds and for exploring the places around you

Expansion

Comics, short stories inside the app, a global website, cards game, plushies and more
You will also be able to trade with your friends and go sprite hunting with them

Monetizing

The app will be free. Ads will not take over gameplay and there will be an Ad blocker for the lowest price possible. Every sprite will be free for everyone, with the exception of cosmetics items such as skins and animations. It will NOT BE PAY-TO-WIN, no way to increase chance other than finding Sprites with such abilities.

Why this app

We intend to solve every problem Pokémon-Go had over the years.

Everyone is tired of “pay this” “pay that to continue” nonsense, the app will be 100% free with optional features and ads that don’t take over the gameplay.

Story is unique, each Sprite will have its own personality. The objective is not cute animals, it’s mysterious creatures from another timeline.

We plan to make the app feel engaging by just playing 20-30 minutes a day, no one wants to be trapped in a AR world all day by reclaiming timed rewards and continuing their 120 day-streak.

Further Info

The game is already in an early stage of development and a newsletter will launch soon on our website to be able to participate in a closed beta

Your feedback matters

Which aspect of the game feels more engaging? Sprite hunt? Fitness workouts? Lore and combat mechanics?
Where would you absolutely not put ads?

What’s the percentage of you trying out this game?

Hello everyone, some time ago I posted a sketch for a repair shop called DP Garage asking for your help. Y’all told me it had some potential so I started experimenting with it.

I randomly noticed that the negative space of the head of a wrench resembles a “D” (like in the attached image), so I opened Canva and put my previous design inside a wrench icon I found online.

This way the letters design which I liked remains and it makes people know it’s something related to repairs.

Now, ignoring all the technical issues because of Canvas limits (non concentric curves, borders totally offset, too much difference of weight between shapes…), do I continue with this design? Do you understand it’s intended to be a repair shop? Do you understand the letters inside are “D” and “P”? Would it look good on a billboard or flyers? Is there something you would drastically change, delete, or add?

As always thanks for the feedback, last time it was really appreciated 🙏

Non-professional needs help with non-professional business

Brand’s name

My friend opened a repair shop called DP GARAGE (his initials). I know it’s hard to work with two letters so I asked him to find another name, which he doesn’t agree to.

Info

His business is purely local so he doesn’t need abstract logos nor symbolic shapes, just a simple solution which combines his initials (D&P) and somehow tells the people it’s a repair shop (cars, bikes, tools, fuel, repairs…).

My attempt - asking for help

I follow some design pages and doodle for fun, but I’m not a professional, so after many attempts the attached photo is the best I could do: the space inside the D resembles a P and I added some random race pattern to the left.
Of course I’m not asking a logo design for free, but if you would like to help in any way (tips, ideas, corrections) it would be greatly appreciated.

Attached photos
The hand-drawn one is my proposal, the red DP is his current ai generated design, the screenshot is a website I’ve found in which I’ve created some kind of bolt.

Thanks in advance!
