Would it be worth it to see a dermatologist?

I’ve had veinous insufficiency for about ten years, and veinous ulcers on my foot and leg since January, so I am always wearing bandages and compression wraps over them. My skin on my legs is constantly itching, dry, flakey…doesn’t matter how much ointment I use, nothing seems to help. The ulcers don’t appear to be healing whatsoever and are actually just getting worse. Would it be worth going to a dermatologist or would they even be able to help me at all? Do any of you folks who have CVI see a dermatologist along with your vein doctors?

Requesting assistance getting some groceries and items for my cat please

Hello. I’m writing to request assistance in getting some groceries and a couple of items for my cat. I’m currently unemployed and unable to search for another job because of severe medical complications with my legs.

To explain my situation.. I was diagnosed with Chronic Veinous Insufficiency about ten years ago and since then, my health has declined significantly. In January of this year, I was terminated from a part-time job due to a pattern of calling in sick because I was bedridden with cellulitis infections or unable to walk due to ulcers on my legs. Because of my part time status I did not qualify for Unemployment assistance.

I still have ulcers on my legs and must visit the wound clinic twice a week for monitoring since they’re healing slowly, so my health problems have complicated my ability to find another job. I’ve applied for work-from-home positions but haven’t landed anything yet. I recently requested a meeting with a social worker to discuss my options for getting on disability, which I never wanted to consider but feel helpless anymore and not sure what else to do, and I am only 37 so I am not even sure if I can apply yet.

I don’t have a spouse, family, or anyone to help me, and my savings are nearly depleted. I applied for food stamps but was denied this year for some reason. I hope the social worker can help me sort that out. Until then, I’ve visited the local food banks, but there are only a few in my area.

I would like to add that I absolutely understand this is just a temporary solution to my problem, and I have no intention of making other requests for assistance.

Anyways, I would very much appreciate help! For anyone who wants to do so, I have made an Amazon wishlist here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/22JDYPI0H97BF?ref\_=wl\_share

If anyone has any questions or would like to share other suggestions related to my situation, I would I would be happy to answer in the comments.

Thank you to all you folks for your kindness, and to everyone who made it to the end of this post :)

Veinous ulcers are ruining all of my footwear, what do I do?

So I have had some veinous ulcers develop around my ankle and on top of my foot/around the toes of my left leg since around January. As of now they are nonhealing so I go to a wound clinic every week for dressing change and new compression bandages. The ones on my foot are just freaking awful. They are constantly weeping and it’s literally ruining all of my socks and shoes. My favorite pair of soft, pink house slippers look absolutely atrocious now, and I feel like wearing them would be a bad idea anyway because now they’re gross and moist and contaminated with bacteria. Can’t exactly put my wounded foot in that.

I can’t put my slippers in the washer as they have sequins on top but I have tried hand washing them, but they just don’t feel or look clean for some reason. I’m also afraid to buy anything new because I know it would be destroyed after being worn for a few hours anyway, and I don’t have money to blow on new footwear all the time!

Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so how did you deal? Would love to hear recommendations for footwear I could invest in that may be more manageable for this condition, or any type of helpful advice.

Motion detection set off

Interestingly, I typed “ghost” in the search bar of my gallery folder, and this video came up. It’s from a couple of years ago and was captured with a motion detection camera inside of my apartment. It is unusual for these blinds to fall down like this, they are installed quite securely. This occurred while I was at work so no one was home at the time, but it sounds like there is maybe a voice or something audible at the end of the clip? I don’t know really, just curious what you guys think. For context - behind the blinds is a glass door that goes out to a third story balcony. I have experienced a few paranormal events since moving in to this condo (flickering lights, items falling, etc) but haven’t really tried capturing any footage.
