set 76: 😈💜👾

purple sparkles!!! what else to say? this is “spellfire” by CNDD. I think I got it for free during one of the sales and have never done a full set with it.

had a lot of chipping and breakage with my last set so a lot of my nails needed …. creative … shaping to look ok. need them to grow back out so I can fix em up again!

also, my liquids were sealed shut so I took it as a sign to open up my new ones 🤩

Birds in an Orchard (Hautman Brothers): Buffalo, 1000

much harder than it looked! especially the trees. but a very nice one

why did the shop rhodium plate my platinum ring?

hello all! I recently got my platinum engagement ring back from repairs, and was shocked at how shiny it was. I had assumed they just polished it, but I was feeling suspicious so I called them. They said they “absolutely” rhodium plate all platinum repairs.

Why would they do that?

I read online that jewelers do it sometimes to cover up white gold or mixed metal solder, but the shop also assured me that they only repair platinum with platinum.

I’m not necessarily opposed to the shiny look, but just wondering if this is sketchy to cover something up or normal practice?

set 75: 🍇🍠✨🌟

if you’re thinking, wow isn’t that basically the same color she did last time? you’re not far off 😂

this is fable by CNDD, from the fallscape collection. Been really loving this collection lately! I love the gold tinted sparkles in this one so much.

hoping once the cuticle mess comes off it won’t look like I am bleeding 😅

Deep in the Forest: Flame Tree (Anna Stead), 1000

wow this one was challenging! i don’t like to look at the poster so it took a while for everything to come together. all the different greens were a real challenge! i swear the last hour was probably just 100 green pieces that I couldn’t figure out 😂

first puzzle from this brand. it was fine! prices didn’t stay together when trying to move sections so that was my only pet peeve. would buy another though

Beach Butterfly, 1000, Buffalo

this one came together nicely! some challenging sections with the various greens and especially the water. Started with edges and sky, then did palm trees, then sand and everything else, ended with water. I’m the type of puzzler who plucks from the box rather than laying it all out which makes it even more fun

set 74: redwood

Not the most summery color but I’m going to a wedding in 2 weeks and I know I won’t be able to redo my nails before then. This matches my dress. 😂

Also not my best work but sometimes you just take the B- and realize it’s still a passing grade.

Redwood by CNDD

set 73: 🎆🎇

may be a bit dark for summer but I couldn’t resist! the color is pyromancer by CNDD, one of my favorites. very hard to capture the color accurately in photos, but it’s either black with reddish flashes in the shade or almost blue in the sun. I love it so much!!

also, a few sets ago I “unlocked” some sort of skill and now my cuticles have never been cleaner! Idk what it is, but I’m very happy with how my sets are coming out now 🤩. they have been lasting the full 2 weeks without lifting also, only the pointer fingers start to come up around then!

How to improve 70.3 run?

I just completed my 3rd 70.3 today and my only real goal for this race was to do better on the run. I trained and planned to dial back my bike to hopefully have more juice for the run, bc the past 2 my run has sucked bc I totally bonked/tummy issues/it was hot(?).

since those other two races I’ve run two 50k trail races and am generally fitter/faster at running in general. I also really worked at fueling for my 50ks and had it work pretty well for those races and in training for this one.

I did focus a lot on the bike this training block and it did actually pay off. but can’t seem to figure out what to do to improve my run.

has anyone else ever been in this situation and has had anything work to improve their runs? in training nothing like this happened, my bricks were always great.

Really looking for any advice here! My finish times have been between 6:22 and 6:43 (today), so I’m not super fast or competitive but I would like to improve.

Normal running pace for zone 2: between 9:30-10 min/mile.
Run pace in all my 70.3’s-between 10:50 and 11 min/mile with today being the worst.

set 72: finally summer

weather is finally nice here and I feel like I can really lean into the summer colors!!! this is “flower market” by sparkle and co.

back to short nails once again bc there are too many activities in the summer for long nails 😂

Set 71: orange you glad I didn’t say banana?

Traveling for work so not my usual background, but wanted to get pics of the nails while they were still perfect and fresh!

This is “toasty” by CNDD and I’m literally obsessed with it. Someone stopped me in an elevator to compliment my nails!! That’s when I know I’ve made it lol.

This is one of my best and cleanest sets yet. For me, slowing down a bit especially on the sides has made my nails better. And especially with top coat.

Forest Magic Hour: Buffalo, 1000

some easy sections, some hard ones! did this puzzle basically top down. I guess that’s most contrast to least!

Set 70: 🐸💚🐍🥑🐢

I think this may be my cleanest set yet! this is Galapagos by CNDD. I find when my nails get a bit longer, it’s easier to stay clean…. Just ignore the short pinky nail that I broke before it was time to do my nails lol

the last set DID turn out to be the engagement nails 🥹💍. and that means no more neutrals for a while, back to fun colors!

can’t stop staring 🤩

I’m in love with my engagement ring and can’t stop staring at it in any light!
It’s set in platinum, center stone is 3.02 carat emerald cut D VS1 lab diamond. Sides are lab D VS1 baguettes and rounds, I think 0.7-0.75 carats each. Can’t remember if the round or baguettes are heavier. Total carat weight is about 4.5
Yesterday I caught some solid bar soap in the claw prongs and freaked out a bit until I realized it would just…. Wash out. Lol.

Any tips on keeping rings bright and shiny?

u/not-judging-you — 3 months ago

is it hard to adjust a prong setting?

hello all! I recently got my engagement ring, and I am in love with it! However, the center diamond is ever so slightly set crookedly and it’s driving me nuts. are prong settings relatively easy to open and re-center the diamond, or am I gonna have to get a whole new setting?

I’ll attach pics, but my friends say they can’t see it. is swear I’m not crazy! In the pic without the green lines, look at the top of the right baguette to see what I mean.

u/not-judging-you — 3 months ago

my turn finally came around 🤩

AAAAAAAAHHHHH it finally happened and I couldn’t be happier!!!!! I was so convinced it wasn’t gonna happen today and was so shocked when it did!

I am over the moon, the ring is perfect! the fiance is perfect!

Stats:
Center emerald cut diamond is 3.02 carats, D, VS1. Measurements are 9.64x6.73x4.62 mm
Sides are lab grown straight baguettes (6.05x3.05x2.05mm) and rounds (4.5mm) totaling 1.5ish carats (also D, VS1)
Total carat weight: around 4.5 ct
Ring size 7.25
Metal: platinum
Band width: 3mm
Prongs: double claw and round

praying and manifesting and hoping that these are my engagement nails! if I have my guess right, they will be!!!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

this is a repeat of my new year’s nails, but much shorter. the base is “bare necessity” and the sparkle is “fire and ice”, both by CN designer dips.

last time I decided that I only needed one coat of the sparkle, and that was correct! the little plastic shards are already hard to work with, so one layer was just right. They’re a bit thicker than usual, and I may have to redo my right thumb already, but I love these!!! Once I figure out how to not shred my cuticles it’s over for you bitches 🤣
