I started teaching at a new strength circuit studio at the same time as another instructor and I've noticed they have several CP reviews on our studio page and I have 0 so far.

All of the reviews for this person are super specific/clinical in a way that makes me think that they solicited for these reviews, requesting certain things to be addressed. Every review includes word for word " focuses on form" and is then sandwiched with other instructor hot phrases like: "effective mind muscle connection" and "ensured safety".

The other reviews for the studio are a lot more simple like "great class, love the music, instructor has a fun energy, love the vibe, etc". Because of the stark difference in detail, I feel like the instructor asked for these reviews to be written. I'm not sure if these are friends of the instructor or if they are clients that they connected with.

My question to reddit: if you DON'T already have an established relationship with an instructor, how would you feel if they asked you to leave a text review if you expressed satisfaction with the class?

Trying to take temp on etiquette here because I'm wondering if I should try to request some clients to leave reviews for myself... I just almost feel like it feels icky to ask that of someone

Hello all! I am a Lagree Certified coach but only have 4 shifts a week at this time because there are only a handful of studios in my area and I am a new coach.

I was thinking of trying to get a job at a regular reformer pilates studio, but I just saw an email from Lagree Portal today that they are flagging studios who employ Lagree instructors that also teach at "Copycat" Studios:

This studio that I'm looking at uses generic reformers (they aren't x formers or blance body, its a no name brand reformer). It doesn't have a ring of fire, hand or foot holes on the carriage/platforms or back handlebars. Is this something that Sebastian would classify as a copycat? Or is it only a copycat if its an X former/Solidcore machine + teaching with Lagree terminology?

I want to be respectful of Sebastian and his IP so I absolutely would refrain from using his move names/terms and Lagree-specific cues if I were to work somewhere else, but I also am wondering if I really am only allowed to ever work in a Lagree studio?

TBH, I thought non-competes were illegal in most states, but I don't think that Lagree Portal would list this as an action requiring discipline if it was not enforceable. Is there anyone out there who teaches Lagree but also another type of group fitness/reformer pilates?

I'm traveling from Monterosso to Milan on Sunday, Oct 11 and it appears that there are only two train options: Depart 3:07 and depart 5:07. Both don't get you into Milan until after 7pm. Am I missing an alternate way to get to Milan earlier?

I have what might be a unique scenario and wanted to see if anyone had personal insight.

I am a non union commercial model and dabble in commercial acting with no desire to do any theatrical. For fun, I will occasionally do TV/Film background work for experience on a big set. I was offered a background role for next week but was told I would get a Union voucher for it...

I stay pretty booked and busy being non-union and I hear horror stories of commercial actors getting into Union and no longer being able to book consistent work. My agency has suggested I stay non union as long as possible. This opp sounds like a fun set and a great project but I don't know if I want to risk getting myself to a "must join" situation in the future and wasting it on a background role.

Edit: I don't want to ask my agent this question because they don't like when I apply to things without them and I certainly am not giving them 20% of a background rate.

New to the sub but I have found depop to be the WORST with its search engine.

It will show me the same items over and over and over again as I scroll. I'm the type of person to search something and want to scroll to the very bottom to make sure I saw everything, but Depop makes it impossible because it duplicates listings within the search. Is this an issue everyone has?

For example.

Dress 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 show up in a row, then Dress 1 is back, 7, 8, 9, 10, Dress 2 is back, 11, 12, 13 Dress 1 is back, and it keeps going on...

These aren't promoted listings, either, it seems like a glitch. It is so frustrating and makes the buying process on Depop awful. I've been wanting to buy more and more with the free shipping but I HATE sifting through the same stuff over and over just to look at everything

I haven't been in the dating scene in over 10 years, but I hear the horror stories from my friends about how dating is now. It wasn't always like that.

Coming off the episode from last night, there was a scene (being vague in case spoilers) that I felt like I was watching a softcore porn. I couldn't help but wonder if young teens and adults think that this is normal behavior? I'm not sex shaming anyone and I think its great that we live in a world where women are less penalized for having sexuality, however, the core culture of LI should not translate into the real world. I just fear for my future daughters to be treated the way the men treat women in the show- especially the way the men were acting the first night of Casa. Men like that have always existed, but we didn't always have them rewarded in the media that we consume.

I think its great entertainment but I wonder if it has real life influence on young folk, especially men. I almost think that it justifies toxic dating culture and really blurs the line between reality and entertainment. At my age, I know better, but I'm wondering if the random 16-21 yo viewers have the same discernment

This show really is damned if you do, damned if you don't. It feels like more of a popularity contest amongst the contestants when it comes to eliminations.

The following week, a couple might be taken out for being "too strong" and that they already found their match so they don't need to be there anymore. On the flip side, a couple might be eliminated simply because they're too new and an established couple should be able to "see the experience through"

I can't be the only one who gets whiplash from the back and forth? Personally, it dampens the experience a little bit. I'm not sure if there is really a resolution because I feel that harder guidelines would take a lot of autonomy away from the islanders but dang its annoying because they are flip flopping on their reasons for eliminations allll the time throughout all of the seasons.

This is probably a wildly unpopular opinion, but I want to offer a different perspective. These subreddits are constantly complaining about declining sales and Poshmark in general, but I think it's more complicated than that.

For background, I've been buying and selling on Poshmark for about 15 years, I'm a Posh Ambassador II, and I've made around 1,000 sales. I'm a hobby reseller; I sell items my husband, family members, or I have actually owned and used. I don't source or flip.

Since 2020, I've noticed a massive increase in full-time resellers, flippers, and sourcers, probably from the exposure from TikTok, Reels, and other social. The growth of reselling as a career, rather than people simply cleaning out their closets, has changed the market in a lot of ways:

Thrift stores now train staff to pull desirable brands

Thrift store prices have increased in general

Goodwill bins have become zoos

Resale apps are flooded with inventory, making visibility harder

Poshmark was much easier when it was primarily targeted for people casually selling their old stuff. Sellers weren't trying to maximize profits, they just wanted a few bucks back. Now you're competing with people doing this full-time, which means researching comps, optimizing keywords, constantly sharing listings, sending offers, and spending hours on the app.

I think all the information and "hustle culture" around reselling has actually turned some casual sellers away because it looks like a ton of work. For many people, it's probably not worth all that effort just to sell one or two pairs of Lululemon leggings for $30. Heck, I've seen people give the advice of "You have to have x amount of listings to sell anything on Posh"... another very discouraging thing to the casual seller. I think the consumer sees all of this and they try to fight it with the lowball offers, the canceling of orders, or placing no orders at all.

To be clear, I'm genuinely happy for people who have built businesses doing something they enjoy, and this isn't a criticism of resellers themselves. But there are impacts from the growth of professional reselling that dont really get talked about. That's why Vinted has felt great; it discourages professional reselling, doesn't require jumping through endless hoops to make a sale, and you can still find incredible deals. The one actual complaint that I will make about resellers is that I cannot stand the "sustainability" greenwashing argument that they boast when they bag all of their articles in clear plastic bags for storage and then use new polymailers to ship their product. The resale market might keep some stuff out of landfills, but its also producing so so so much more unnecessary plastic.

Edit: people keep suggesting that I am unaware that reselling existed prior to Poshmark, which is silly. Of course we've always had Ebay, Yard Sales, Consignment Shops, etc. I'm pointing out the influx of people who are taking on reselling as a side hustle and you cannot argue that there are significantly more people doing it than they were before.

I just got an email from Posh Support:

Obviously it says its being paused rather than concluding, but I wonder if they are going to discontinue it altogether? I imagine they would purposely say "pause" so that current bags still get processed as promised by the sellers.

My experience with Posh Consignment has been very "eh". Its super nice getting a stream of sourced product, but the 50/50 split really hurts, especially when you don't always get the best quality products. If they do bring it back, I hope they vet the consignees a little better and somehow monitor the quality of items sent.

I've been on Influenster for probably 10 years and I used to get a ton of Voxboxes. Voxboxes disappeared (for me at least) and I had an Influenster dry spell for about 5 years. Just in the last few months I've gotten the "you are a match" notifs where I've claimed a few small makeup and skincare products. I get one of these notifs maybe once a week lately and a few things I haven't claimed because they weren't products I'd actually use.

I stumbled upon this reddit and am seeing that people are claiming huge items like TVs, expensive coffee makers, etc and I'm wondering, how the heck does one qualify for THOSE? I think the most expensive thing I've been eligible for was maybe $100.

My profile is 100% complete and I have 80 total reviews from products over the years. The only thing is that I don't ever sign up for programs that require you to post on social media, though I do have my socials connected.
