Microphone for Phone and Computer Use

Here is the issue I am trying to solve:

I work from home and game from home a fair amount too. I have three kids who will be home most of the summer in a small house.

I also tend to go and work at coffee shops, where I might get a random call or request for a ZOOM meeting, etc.

I've used a couple of headsets, including an over the ear Razer Barracuda X. The noise cancelling part of the mic isn't great. I'm just kinda tired of trying to figure out which headset has a good noise cancelling mic, while I don't really care at all about active noise cancellation within the music/sound itself. In other words, I want to be sure that clients and friends don't hear excessive background noise and I don't really care if I can hear my own kids/tv in the background.

I just bought a Razer Seiren V3 Mini which is a USB mic and headphones with a mic. Then I realize that the Seiren is USB only and doesn't work on my phone.

Are there good noise cancelling mics out there that are both USB and wireless?

Ideally under $80-$100 - which is more than I paid for the Seiren.

SteelSeries Quick Switch

I am considering a SteelSeries headset for their noise cancelling mic capabilities combined with decent spatial sound for games in addition to that they don't look that much like gamer headsets.

But how does the Quick Switch work? Here is my issue:

I have a Razer Barracuda X. While painting it, I removed the serial number so I have no access to their Synapse software. I don't know how to change the default connection method. Unfortunately, the Barracuda seems kinda dumb in that it automatically switched from BT to 2.4 GHZ if I get a phone call.

The problem here is that sometimes I don't want it to switch to Bluetooth for a call when I am on a meeting on the PC. I also don't really want to put my phone into do not disturb to prevent the call.

Does Quick Switch require that I flip the switch to take a call or switch to PC?

Over the Ear headphones with Strong Noise Cancelling Mic

Hey all,

Here is the challenge: I have Razer Barracuda Xs. They are legit comfy, but they don't have a noise cancelling mic at all. I work from home and game, and will often have the kids around or work at a coffee shop. Honestly, they also don't look real professional.

I need a noise cancelling mic more than I need active noise cancelling in my ears. The kids nor coffee shop are ever loud enough to disturb my hearing, I just don't really want others to hear it.

I also don't really want an on-ear headset. My ears are kinda big, a bit sensitive, and I have an on-ear headset from JBL that is uncomfortable after an hour or two.

One important thing: I am totally fine with wired. In fact, I'd almost prefer it instead of having to charge my headphones.

I'm also not really for the idea of having separate noise cancelling software and paying for it - I'd rather just own hardware.

My budget isn't real specific. I am planning to return a $100 pair of earbuds and the JBL headset, so I am thinking in the $200 range, if I need to.

Thanks!

Gaming Headset with noise cancelling mic

Hey all,

I am having an issue with headsets. I have used what amounts to a gaming headset with the Razer Barracuda X which has a "good mic" that also picks up damn near everything around me. I am working at home and the kids are often around in a small house, or I'll be at a coffee shop with conversations around me and beans grinding, etc.

I also have tried a JLAB Go Work 2nd gen and the noise cancellation seems to be alright, but I find on-the-ear kinda uncomfortable as I have big ears.

Note that I place a much higher value on the noise cancelling mic. I don't mind hearing people in the coffee shop or kids in my background - I just don't want the person I am talking in on it.

My budget is up to $200. I also prefer to have dual ears - not just one. Wired or wireless is fine.

Hey all,

I've had ear buds before. I actually have ONEPLUS Buds 4 and I'm not real impressed by the sound quality as the wife says I sound tinny. They also don't fit especially well.

Here is what I want, rather specifically:

  1. Noise cancelling microphone. I really don't care if the earbuds block out surrounding sound from getting to my ears - I'm not often in an environment loud enough for that to matter. Maybe a TV in the background or a coffee shop, but I'd prefer a client or anyone else on the other end of the mic not be able to hear the sound of conversations, a TV, or a grinder too well.
  2. Ideally open ear. I had to look it up! My ear canals seem to be a funny shape and it feels like the ONEPLUS is always falling out, even with the "right size" tips in place. I don't mind a clip or anything - just so long as it holds on my ears. Could also be useful for an occasional run.
  3. I am not an audiophile. I won't notice the difference when listening to background shows or music on Youtube or Spotify. I couldn't describe to you how good or bad music sounds. I care more about meeting vocal clarity, mobility, and a noise cancelling mic.

These are going to be used mostly for office use. I am a gamer, but I have a separate Razer Barracuda X that has features I want for my specific scenario, including mute, and being pretty comfy.

I spent $100 on the ONEPLUS and can return. I don't really have a specific budget, as I'm using company funds to pay for them.

Hi all.

For reference, I am a 40 year old male. I work from home, so I tend to sit in my office chair for much of the day.

I've noticed a few issues lately:

- I don't last as long in bed as I used to. I can also get aroused by my wife really easily, to the point where just giving her a massage gets me erect. Sometimes I blow up almost upon entry.

- I had what amounted to probably nerve pain in my penis last year. After multiple visits to the doctor's office and urologist, I figured out that it wasn't the skin or anything else - it was likely nerve pain I did some hip stretches and it mostly went away.

- I seem to consistently find that my pelvic floor is "up" and tense, this is especially true while trying to walk quickly or playing video games which I find a bit stressful.

- I think I have what's called anterior pelvic tilt - I tend to walk and sit with my pelvis tilted forward a bit with my back "hollowed".

- Inconsistent discomfort in my perinium toward my butt.

- My pelvic floor can feel really tight after a sneeze.

I've done a fair amount of stretching. My left hip is especially stiff and I've started walking and jogging more.

Hey all,

I've had some pelvic floor and upper leg tightness recently - and it's gotten worse. I think part of my problem is that I tend to arch my lower back while sitting in an office chair, which I do for like 7-10 hours per day.

I have a Steelcase Amia, and to be honest, the lumbar support, even at the highest setting, basically collapses. Like, I can readily push back on it and end up with an arched lower back.

Are there any chairs out there with more aggressive lumber support? Or am I fixing the wrong issue?

BTW, I don't have a specific budget in mind. I am about 5'9 and 160 pounds, if that helps.
