Estradiol patch shortage!

What’s with this constant estradiol patch supply issue? My pharmacy keeps telling me there’s a shortage. Are other folks running into this too or is it a regional thing? Is it everywhere or just the states? I’m based in Denver.

What am I supposed to do when I need my refill??

I guess all the millennials are hitting peri all at once and suddenly everyone is educated about peri care and going on hormones at the same time.

Throwing a block party - getting neighbors on board

We want to throw a block party as a means to get to know our neighbors. We tried doing a brunch at our house (invites were postcards introducing ourselves accompanied by candy hung on 40 doors on our block) and had little uptake. Our block is a lot of young professionals, couples without kids, 30s-40s for context. We are in LoHi.

For people who have successfully organized block parties, what are some tips for getting folks on board? What is the best way to reach out for petition signatures (I understand we need 75% to sign on)?

Thanks for any help!

How does Tirzepatide interact with HRT for women?

I posted this in the hrt+GLP sub but people there are convinced that microdosing is my problem, rather than HRT.

I have been microdosing tirzepatide since January 1 to maintain my weight. For the first time since age 30, my weight has been stable and my bloating gone, no variation in either depending on my cycle. However, after starting oral progesterone and estradiol patches, the bloating has returned, and my weight fluctuates like it used to.

I have slowly gone up from 1 mg to 1.75 mg of Tirz. There were some weeks where I felt absolutely no appetite suppression and felt bloated, and gave myself a booster shot, only to continue to feel no appetite suppression and continue to be bloated. Then things would return to normal and I’d feel great again, on 1.75 mg. The weeks where it didn’t work, it wouldn’t make a difference even if I went up to 3 mg.

So I don’t think it’s the Tirz dose, although I have decided to go up to 2 mg going forward.

I take Prometrium cyclically 200 mg (days 12-14 of cycle, after ovulation and stopping with period). I am on 0.025 estradiol patch (recently increased to 0.0375 due to supply issues with the lower dose).

Some people suggested my Prometrium might be too high and I’m looking into going down to 100 mg. However I will say other than the bloating, I feel great on HRT and love the way I sleep during luteal phase with 200 mg of progesterone, and all my other peri symptoms have resolved as well.

Anyone else in the same boat? What did you change, what has helped? I miss the way I felt on Tirz before starting HRT - no worries about weight fluctuating, holding steady at my ideal weight, and no inflammation.

For context, I’m 44 in a few days, about a year into peri, still have a regular cycle and ovulate.

Tirzepatide doesn't work as well

In short: Tirzepatide was working great for me in maintaining weight but with HRT, it is working less well, and I am having trouble isolating what the cause could be.

Background: I am 43. I still have regular periods, but have a few symptoms of peri.

I started on 1 mg of Tirzepatide on January 1 2026 just to maintain my weight where it was, and allow me to eat like a normal person. Before starting Tirz, I calorie counted (1200 or fewer calories a day) and was on a Paleo diet to lose the 10 pounds my body keeps wanting to gain despite strength training 3 or 4x a week and daily 8-10k steps. I regained and lost this weight three times over the last four years and finally just needed my life to be easier.

Tirzepatide was amazing for me. I lost a lot of inflammation and was easily able to maintain my weight.

I started taking 200 mg Prometrium cyclically (during luteal phase) in March. I started a 0.025 patch of Estradiol two weeks later.

A month later, I started noticing weight gain and some bloating/inflammation came back cyclically as well (i.e., I feel least bloated right after my period, but in the two weeks leading up to my period, my body feels bloated, especially in the stomach area).

It has gone up and down since then, but I definitely feel like the HRT is interacting SOME how with the Tirzepatide to where it's less effective in controlling my appetite and inflammation. I have increased my dose of Tirz - I went from 1 mg per week to now taking 1.75 mg per week. I realize this is still below the standard starting dose, but it was highly effective for me before even at 1 mg. And during the weeks when I was feeling my hormonal flux a lot, I even went up to 3 mg and felt nothing - no appetite suppression - only to find 1.5 or 1.75 effective again once my hormones balanced out.

I should say, energetically and otherwise I feel amazing on HRT. But I have wondered if I am taking too many hormones while my body is still producing enough of its own hormones, since I do still ovulate and have regular periods. I felt like maybe I have too much estrogen, especially since last month, my pharmacy increased my patch dose to 0.0375 because they're having supply issues with the 0.025 dose.

Anyway, curious what others' experiences have been with this. Do hormones fight Tirzepatide? Which hormone could be more responsible for it? I am only 2 lbs up from my goal weight, and only 4-5 lbs up from my lowest on Tirz, so it's not a huge deal, I just hate feeling bloated, and that was one of the best things about Tirz for me was that it took away all inflammation.

Wideroe lost my luggage

My luggage was delayed on a flight from Lofoten to Bergen via Bodø and Trondheim.

The luggage claim customer rep said it would likely be delivered to my hotel by that evening or early the next morning and gave me an online tracking link and reference number.

The online tracker only has three updates - “searching for your baggage,” “received at airport,” and “delivered.”

It was stuck on “searching for your baggage” for over 24 hours with no updates, which didn’t inspire confidence. Since the agent had been so adamant it would be recovered quickly, I got anxious and went back to the airport 28 hours after landing, and they said it was on a flight from Bodo that was about to arrive.

I’m here waiting for it. It had time sensitive medications, all my clothes, toiletries, and chargers in it (it was originally supposed to be my carry on but the tiny planes that fly from Lofoten have little overhead luggage space).

I am never traveling again without an AirTag in all my bags, checked or not. It would have given me peace of mind to know where it was, especially in light of the lack of updates from the airline. It ruined our first two days in Bergen from the stress and uncertainty, particularly due to only being halfway through our travel and needing medications. And here we are at the airport wasting the only day here that it’s not raining.

Just posting here so any others who are assured it would “arrive tonight or tomorrow morning” realize that it’s just consoling customer service speak and not reality. And to get AirTags.

Update: picked up my luggage and am on the way back to the hotel. Checked the baggage tracker. It’s been at least half an hour since I told them we grabbed it (the same rep) and the tracker still reads “searching for your baggage.” Don’t believe the tracker!

What can I do to take better photos with a Sun 660?

Hi everyone, I just picked up a Polaroid camera on eBay to play with. It's the 50th anniversary gold and black edition and it is adorable!

I'm attaching the first picture I took with it. The room this picture was taken in has lots of windows but it was nice indirect afternoon light. The picture came out quite faded.

What are some tips to take better Polaroid photos with these old cameras? Or is this the Polaroid look and about what to expect? Normally I would experiment, but film is expensive, so I am hoping you all have some general lighting and shooting tips.

I should mention, I also got an Impulse AF and the photo I took with that was slightly clearer. Is that a typical difference in quality between these two cameras or I just got luckier with one shot? Do folks find any of the newer Polaroid cameras to actually be much better picture quality? One of these cameras is intended as a birthday gift for my sister, and I can just buy her a new model if they are better, but I read somewhere that these vintage models are quite good.

Thanks for any help!

Which of these 3 should I submit to a contest? Xt20, 18-55, 56mm f1.4, 35mm f/2, 23mm f1.4

Hey friends. I want to submit three photos to a local contest. The theme of the contest is "my downtown" with the interpretation of downtown left intentionally vague. These were all taken on my daily walk near my house on the South Platte River Trail in Denver. Any thoughts appreciated! Note that the last one is my favorite, so I will likely not submit any other bridge photos unless you think they are better.

p.s. I lurk here a lot, afraid to show my own work, but have been so inspired by everyone who shares their photography.
