Spawn to bulk, how’s it looking?

Not sure what to look for yet, so I’m curious if this looks solid so far? It’s been like 3-5 days since i mixed it with the coir. A few larger droplets of water, a good amount of little tiny droplets.

EDIT: this is a picture through the lid of the tub lmao, so it looks weird.

How does this spawn to bulk look?

Went with about 1000g of coir in a smaller container. Had 3 quarts of grain spawn that had some myco piss in the bottom. So for safety I just used the top half of each jar. Mixed in, added the top layer. Just curious how it looks. I’m a little worried that some of the bits weren’t fully colonized.

Yellow in the bottom of my grain spawn?

I'm unsure if this is contamination or not. These are my Golden Teacher grain spawn jars (1qt). After they colonized, I put them in the fridge for maybe 2-3 weeks tops. Today I was planning on putting them to spawn, but I noticed that on the bottom, there is a bit of yellow. 2 of them its just slightly yellow. One of them has more, and there is maybe a half inch up of liquid along with it. Are they contaminated? Or can I still use them?

Trapped on a joint lease with a nightmare roommate situation

Location: Michigan. Long story short, my roommates are breaking our lease in a handful of insane ways. One of them keeps dead birds in the freezer. All of them collectively refuse to turn the AC on during the day, no matter how hot it is outside. They also are holding actual concert shows at the house, charging entrance fees, and packing groups of 100+ people into the property.

I’m completely removed from all of this, but because we are on a joint lease, I know I’m tied to them legally.

I have no idea how to go about getting off this lease in a way where I won’t be held legally liable for property damage or lease violations in the future after I’ve left. My fear is that if I report any of this to the leasing company, they will just file a joint eviction.

Roommates wanted to DIY fix the AC.

Backstory: My roommates keep turning off the AC throughout the day, saying it doesn’t have to be on all the time. Currently it is about 78 ish degrees outside, and very humid.  I asked about it a few times, and they told me that apparently the AC “Overheats” if it’s on too long, so it HAS to be turned off once a day.  These people also like to make food, drop pieces of it, and leave it on the ground.  Leave food on the counter out.  Track mud in the house, and not clean it.  Glue random shit to the ceiling as decor.

So I asked my roommates if it was a good time to put a work order in to our leasing company to get it fixed. They keep telling me no, and that they want to try some stuff out first.  One idea they had was to put one of those damp rid buckets near the water that is leaking from the AC pipes. Obviously that’s not going to fix the issue.  I gave a heads up 3 days before the work order, I canceled and moved it up an extra day for them. Then I decided to just let the work order happen, because I’m also liable for this, and I want the AC to work.  After all of that pushback and shit I got, turns out it was low on refrigerant, and they needed to service it.  Yet one of them still called me ignorant for not letting them try to fix the issue themselves.

Now that it’s fixed, I noticed they turned the AC off again.  They claim it is to save energy.  Doesn’t matter what evidence I show them, they are mocking me in our group chat, and making light of it. Now they want to hold a roommate meeting to discuss it, and to tell me that what I did was wrong, and I should have “given them a heads up about it,” as if I didn’t do that.

No idea what to do. I’m locked into a full year lease with these people.

Tl;dr: roommates wanted to DIY the AC, and are mad that I had our leasing company fix it.

Roommates are running AC with open windows and suffocating the indoor unit with blankets. Need tech advice on the damage.

First off, I have some pretty incompetent roommates. Here is the backstory: I live in a house with 6 people, and we are all collectively renting. Before I moved in, the others agreed to let one person pay cheaper rent to literally live inside the HVAC utility closet.
Lately, they’ve been leaving the windows and exterior doors wide open when it’s 75+ degrees out, which pushes my room up to 80 degrees. Whenever I turn the AC back on, they turn it off because they claim the system "overheats" and is just "a shitty AC."
The roommate living in the utility closet finally admitted that the indoor evaporator coil/air handler is mounted on the ceiling of their "bedroom," and whenever the AC runs for a while, it starts forming a massive block of ice and heavily leaking water. To deal with the dripping, they have literally hung these thick, basically thermal blankets directly over/around the unit, and this has apparently been going on for months.
From my understanding, this is all pretty bad. My roommates fought with me and claimed "it isn't broken," but I finally put a property management maintenance ticket in today.
How bad is this likely to be? How is this safety wise as well? Any suggestions on not getting blame for this, since I just moved in recently with no knowledge of this?

Edit: put in a request for our rental company to do it, and my roommates are upset, and say they want to DIY fix the leak.

Student struggling with groceries and household items

Hi everyone, My name is Jack, and I'm from Michigan,

I’m reaching out because I’ve hit a significant financial wall. I’m currently a student and working on random odd jobs to make ends meet, but between car maintenance and a recent dip in earnings, I’m struggling to cover the basics.

I’ve put together an Amazon Wishlist of things to help get through things for the time being, while I try to get another job.

I have tried to keep everything as low-cost as possible. This would mean the world to me.

Thank you!

I have a strong fear of bugs, and I’m trying to find better ways to keep them out of my room. Over the past few weeks i've seen like 7 or 8 adult carpet beetles. then I see medium sized black spiders like daily. I don't keep food in my room, and I vacuum almost daily. my roommate upstairs are filthy as hell, but my basement room I keep very clean.

Recently, I’ve noticed bugs getting in occasionally, and I tried a couple things in a state of panic after seeing some, like taping around my window and sealing small gaps along the baseboards. I realize these aren’t great solutions probably. I'm renting the room, so i'm looking for something either non permanent, or atleast is an improvement, or not noticable or something.

The main issues I think would be a small gap between my baseboards and carpet, and my egress window. I'm going to get something to put under the door gap.

I'm totally willing to completely seal off the window. I don't ever need to open or use it, unless it's in an emergency. i'd prefer the cheaper options, but i'm willing to do anything really.
