Switch OLED Image Retention or Burn-in?

I’ve had a while without using my Switch OLED (life happened) and it stayed in the dock for a while. I noticed a whole black that the screen was on, while in the dock, with an error message. Restarted the machine and thought nothing of it. Fast forward to yesterday, and I noticed the same thing - but this time after gameplay.

I’m not too worried about the specifics of the error, it happens with 5 year old kit! But I noticed last night that when on a block white-grey screen I could see the error message faintly hours later. It’s still faintly visible, but I’m not sure if it’s less so? Now, I don’t know how long the message was up either time - but I’ve heard that the Switch’s OLED is pretty great when it comes to burn-in. Is there any chance this could be temporary? I’ve been running those (possibly snake oil) “burn in repair” youtube videos, in the hopes that it’s just image retention and needs some resetting. Any ideas anyone?

I’ve had OLEDs for a long time, and this is the first non-amoled display that’s had the issue!

For the future of the series, is there any chance we could get subtitles, but only for the “other” languages spoken in-game?

It’s fairly common in these games that there will be a few languages spoken - and that these languages are translated into the chosen language in captions. I don’t like playing games that are in my native language with subtitles, personally, so always have them off. It’s not common, but there are plenty of times where environmental dialogue will give you additional bits and pieces of information that just make the world feel more alive, and it’s often delivered in the “original” game world’s language.

I know it’s never vital, but it would be nice if those of us who don’t want or need subtitles could have the option to just use these translated captions from time to time - like when the Spanish soldiers at Torres’ mansion are escorting Edward up to the meeting in Black Flag. Their dialogue is really interesting, and adds depth to the scene, but I don’t want to have to dip into a menu to translate it.

Obviously I’d never begrudge anyone from playing a game however they like, but is there no way that we can have the best of both worlds?

ALLM’s gone… odd.

Until recently, I was able to use my LG G3’s Cinema Home picture mode for the main menu of the PS5 Pro and when I started a game the Game Mode kicked in. I had an unrelated issue where I had to power cycle an ARC sound system, and accidentally unplugged my TV. When I turned it back on it asked me to recalibrate my HDR stuff, and since then I’ve lost the previous functionality - with the system not switching between modes when I enter/exit a game. Does this sound like a handshake issue? I’ve power cycled everything, reset the settings on the PS5 Pro, changed to the (untouched) HDMI cable that came with my PS5 Pro (from the HDMI that came with my original PS5) etc etc. I’m at a bit of a loss and am about to factory reset my TV. Every other HDMI 2.1 setting is working fine.

ALLM/ HDR Select Mode PS5 issues

So up until recently (quite literally three days ago) I had it so that when I was in the PS5 menu that the TV would be set to Cinema Home, and when I started a game it would switch to Game Mode with HGiG on. I had an issue with my sound system, accidentally unplugged my TV, and when I started it up again my PS5 decided to re calibrate HDR. I can’t remember what I did, but I’m fairly sure I was playing with some very safe stuff that I understood to make sure I was getting the best calibration. And now I’m left with a PS5 which is locked to one HDR picture mode, and won’t auto switch between the two as it used to.

Can anyone who has intentionally managed to set this up advise?
