Carbothello & Pitt pastel pencils in PastelMat
Faber-Castell Polychromos on Strathmore ArtAgain paper. Panpastels for background. I struggled to choose the right background colors, but I really like the warmth.
My latest commission was a dog portrait in colored pencils that I will be sending off to Australia this weekend. That person is a dear friend & mentor to me. I want to surprise him with a little something extra so I’ll be putting this gouldian finch in his package as well. I really hope he likes it!!
Faber-Castell Pitt & Stabilo Carbothello Pastel Pencils on PastelMat
A friend of mine had recently lost her dog to cancer so I drew this for her & gifted it for xmas. Prismacolors on some kind of toned paper.
I drew this a few months ago, so very likely Prismacolors. Just wanted to play around with some black paper. Yes, he’s missing a toe.
Fist time using PastelMat. Stabilo Carbothello pastel pencils + Faber-Castell Polychromos (metallic silver-jewelry, metallic gold-frame/border).
Thoughts?
My boy Louie turned 44 in December & I finally got around to drawing his portrait. I think I used Prismacolors.
It’s not super crisp because it was a little windy, but I’m obsessed with the contrast & structure.
I had no idea that drawing on sandpaper was a thing. I recently got my first pad of PastelMat paper & fell in love with the texture. It reminded me of fine grit sandpaper.
I was at work the other day & saw some used 600 grit sandpaper. I’m not sure what was being sanded, but it was blue! The color in combination with the ripped edge reminded me of the ocean.
This piece is only about 4”x3” but i just love the way it looks!
