Old Moose

So about 20yrs ago I was fresh out of school, so I bought a whole bunch of blank decks and thought I was going to start a skateboard company. We'll that never happened, but it did leave me with a bunch of skateboards that I never sold. So at some point this one became a rider and I love it. It has some no name oldschool trucks on it, probably off a Valterra or something. The wheels are Sector 9s that have been on it pretty much the last 15 years, but sometimes I had Spitfires on it.

I'm thinking about changing wheels again. There are a bunch of cool DIY concrete parks popping up in my area and I am in the market for a nice ATF wheel. Something I can use on still cruise on kind of quietly, but that will work good on things like ditches and concrete bowls.

Will the 9 Balls be too soft? Or do you think they'd work? Should I be looking in the 95-97a range?

That's what freinds are for.

So a while back my childhood best friend and I were talking online about the old 90s CCS catologs and those huge monster truck off road wheels they used to sell. I mentioned that I had two sets and how at 12 I would have lost my mind if I had them on a Powell hotrod flame deck.

Well fast forward a month, he shows up at my 40th birthday and hands me this thing. I could have cried. We talk every day online, but we live far and haven't seen each other in years. I didn't even know he was going to be there.

So needless to say, I have to put giant monster trucks wheels on it. But eventually it will just get some Spitfires and indys. And he's getting my second set of monster wheels.

God I love that dude.

Shakespeare Wonder reels

This came up in my Facebook memories. Two years ago I took my 2yr old to catch his first fist and he did it on a vintage Shakespeare reel mounted to a True- Temper rod. I love old WonderReels, bit this one gave us some problems that day. I've since gotten him a modern spincast setup so I don't have to spend so much time fiddling around with a 60yr old problematic reel. He caught three bluegill that day.

Wright and McGill Trailmaster

Hi, I'm new to this subreddit. I figured I'd show this off. Its a Wright and McGill 7 1/2ft spin/fly combo. I bought it to try fly fishing, but never got around to learning it. I have used it as a spinning rod and its ok, but its a lot longer than I like to fish with and kinda floppy.

I've paired it with a vintage Eagle Claw model 225 for spinning, and a Eagle Claw 1010 for fly. I was trying to keep the whole setup vintage, but not really sure if all parts are era correct. I even have it stored in a vintage Flambeau Mighty-Tuff storage tube.

It's a cool setup, kind of a novelty. In case you can't tell from the pictures, you just flip the handle around to switch from spin to fly.

Inheriting a home with a living spouse in it.

Location: New Jersey. So luckily my dad is still alive, but he informed me that upon his death his house will go to me and my sibling. He has lived in the house for around 10yrs, but in that time he has since remarried. He wants to allow his wife to continue living in the house and paying the taxes and everything for as long as she wishes after his death. My brother and I would become the deed holders though.

My question is, what can I do to protect myself in the event that she fails to pay taxes? I would not be able to afford the taxes on the house, and ideally she would just leave and we could sell the house. But I am just afraid of a scenario where she doesn't what to leave and the house gets taken away or something.

Also, am I understanding correctly that NJ laws pretty much allow a surviving spouse to override a will when it comes to inheritance of an estate?

What are some measures that my brother and I can take to protect ourselves in the future?

I was going to leave this as a reply to someone's comment, but I figured it was worth it's own discussion.

Almost every time someone digs out a old bike and wants opinions on it, if it has one peice cranks it seems some guys write it off ass trash instantly.

So I have a question, and I swear I'm not trying to be shitty, I'm just not very versed in modern BMX culture. Is the whole one peice crank thing like an inside joke or are people really hung up on that being a determining factor in a bikes quality? There were alot of cool bikes with one peice cranks back in the day, and some good quality cro-mo one peice cranks like GT and Schwinn SX. I know now adays bikes with one peice are usually junk, but then we are talking 25yr old bikes I dont let that deter me.

Now I realize this is a general BMX forum, so there are probably alot of guys who have no interest in the older bikes, so I sort of get the attitude. A bike posted here vs r/oldschoolbmx is going to get some very different responses.
