Roast my resume pleaseeeeee

Getting ready for fall recruiting. I've already received positive feedback from recruiters, but I'm looking for additional suggestions to further improve my resume.

Recived a referral link after applied to that job

I applied for a job, and a couple of days later I networked with a VP at the company who works in a different department. He was kind enough to send me a referral link for the same position. Should I submit another application using the referral link, or should I do something else?

Non-Finance related job in finance firm

I'm currently a paralegal with a degree in Finance. Law school isn't something I'm planning to pursue right now, but I am looking to move into a better opportunity.

I'm curious—what is it like being an in-house paralegal at an investment bank or other financial institution? I assume those roles are very competitive. However, unlike finance associate positions, I don't really see a structured recruiting cycle for in-house paralegal roles.

Would it be a good idea to reach out directly to attorneys working at those firms to introduce myself and sell my experience? I'd love to hear any advice or insights you might have.

Make the most out of my degree/school

I'm heading to NYU's MSA program this fall. I know many people would say it's not the best financial decision, especially for a Master's in Accounting. However, I come from a finance background, and NYU has always been my dream school. Since half of the tuition will be covered by my family and the remainder is through a fixed-rate loan with a very low interest rate, I decided it's a worthwhile investment.

Now for my real question.

My goal is to start in audit at a Big Four firm, transition into Big Four consulting, and eventually move into an industry consulting role.

Beyond attending networking events, building relationships on LinkedIn, and leveraging NYU's alumni network, what else can I do to maximize the value of both the degree and the NYU name?

Tell me the scariest stories about having student loans for grad school.

So, I’ve been offered admission to a Master of Accounting program at Rutgers for basically free, and at NYU with about $60K in debt. My parents are willing to contribute $40K, but the remaining $20K would be on me.

Please tell me how bad student loans can get so I can give up my Stern dream and choose Rutgers instead.

PSA: LOGBOLC Students Are No Longer Authorized Full Per Diem.

Due to LOGBOLC becoming very expensive, they are making changes to reduce costs. LOGBOLC students will now be eating at Victory Fresh for lunch and dinner. (Breakfast is free at the IHG Hotel.) The cost is around $6–7 per person, and students will only be entitled to around $18 per day.

Personally, I would recommend grabbing your dinner at the same time when you pick up lunch from Victory Fresh. The food there is pretty solid, similar to 42 Bistro at Fort Hood, and there is no limitation on how much food you can get. Budget your per diem wisely and be smart with your money.

EDIT: In addition to that, they replaced range and land navigation with more instruction time, and an AFT score of 400 is now the passing standard for LOGBOLC. Anything below that, you will have to retake it with another class until you graduate. The 12-mile ruck standard is 3 hours, and the 4x36 is still in effect.

Rejection Email

>"This application is closed, but will open for new applications in June. If you are still interested in this role, please apply again in June."

Does this mean anything, or is it just another automatic rejection? This email is different from the other rejection emails they’ve sent me. Spare me anything at this point, I’ve been job hunting like a chicken with its head cut off.

So no rental and no pov for 3+ month school at fort Lee, so I need to find a way to get my groceries from the commissary and travel around the post.

If I buy an e-bike and attach a trailer behind me, is this authorized to go on the post? I think this is an ideal way for me not to break the budget but still able to get groceries.

Can’t find anything on post policy against this, just want to hear more opinions

I did an interview a week ago for an entry-level program with the DoN, and the interviewer said they now have to check the books for vacancies and will let me know. Can someone say something to help me sleep better at night haha

Background: already a weekend warrior, already have a clearance, my degree matches the job/program, and solid GPA.

Yeah lol, I went to an interview for an entry level trader position at a small prop firm office. I did the interview and a couple of IQ/math questions. A few days later, the guy called me back and said they liked me and were willing to give me an offer.

Here’s the funny part: they asked me for money and claimed it was a training fee. They also said the more money I put in, the higher percentage I would get back from trading. 😂 I immediately hung up the call.

Hey everyone!

I have an interview this week for the Navy's FMCP. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the interview process or just more information about the program itself?

Anything is much appreciated. Thanks!
