Need some advice. Btech fresh grad working at semiconductor manufacturing in India.

Hi, I just graduated B Tech ECE and got a job at a semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging plant in Gujarat. In other words it's a semiconductor plant.

Now my role is a bit odd. Graduate Engineer Technician (GET). And the pay is 5 LPA (4LPA in hand basic, this is in INR. About 400 usd per month). My interview was a breeze and after about 10 minutes the interviewer basically handed me a role in the factory's Repair Lab. PCB repair, Computer systems repair, semiconductor testing machine repairs, etc.

I have had 2 great internships at the top private and government manufacturing plants in the country and had solid projects that made the interview literally a breeze.

But I know what it's like working at factories. And it's not fun at all. Especially working anywhere near Production (PRD) Lol. It's just too repetitive, product life cycle is too damn long and you are essentially stuck and turn dependent on that plant where you work at and before you relise it, boom you are stuck at that plant, that product and that line. (As in production line).

I was hoping more into R&D or similar stuff. But the company was dead set on the Graduate Engineer "Technician" role.

I have another technical round test for a great Enterprise services company. 9LPA fully remote, night shift US time. But it's yet to be conducted. And as of now I have no leverage to use to try and hike my salary at the semiconductor plant.

It's not exactly bad. But it's on the lower end. Plus I'd be moving about 4 states away to Gujarat on that salary seems a bit of a stretch.

So what should I do? Stick around and experience it for a while - year or 2? Switch? Look for better roles? Etc.

The role is fine, the company name and brand image is fantastic (legit among the best) but the pay is bugging the hell out of me.

Does the Poco M8 5g have NFC?

Hi, I am looking to buy a phone under 23K and the poco M8 5g looks to be it. My only need is NFC. While many western reviewers from Europe and US confirm the M8 5g has NFC, indian YouTubers say there isn't NFC. One Indian guy said that NFC exists in developers option only.

Is it true? The M8 5g was like the next phone from the M17 i shortlisted and it has some amazing specs. I'd hate to see it out of the list just because poco India decided NFC isn't worth having in indian market.

Looking for a very specific kind of watch. Please recommend.

I have a need for a watch with a very exact set of requirements:

  1. Round.
  2. Digital (not smart. Just digital)
  3. Large Numbers.
  4. NON BLACK case. (Pastel colours or light shared preferred like any variation of pink, blue, or green)
  5. Replaceable straps.
  6. Must be under 1K INR max.

I looked HARD for a watch that fits these requirements. And the closest I have found is the “Carlington CT_8125”. After days of searching I could only find 1 match. Not exactly drowning in choice here.

So please recommend any that pops in your mind. This is for a family member with very very specific taste in watches.

How long does the charger replacement policy last?

Hello fellow LOQ owners,
I want to know how long does Lenovo’s policy for their free charger replacement policy lasts?

I had purchased my LOQ September 2024 and its warranty expired September 2025. And no I did not extend my warranty.

Although the included 170w charger works fine and I did not have any problems with it, it got me wondering if I can still get the free charger replacement. I remember vaguely that back then Lenovo offered a free charger replacement that was spaced with more watt than the included 170w charger as people were reporting LOQs loosing battery even while plugged in while playing demanding games.

99% of “gaming” I do on my LOQ is literally Team Fortress 2 and that too on low graphics cuz I like it that way on my laptops. But I have seen a few times my battery not going to the 80% limit and staying behind at 75-79% even when not gaming. I use my laptop almost exclusively on my desktop. Yeah, it only has 4 full battery cycles even though I have had it for close to 2 years…..yikes.

HELP suggest tempered glass compatible with UB pro S9 FE case.

I want a tempered glass on my S9 FE with the supcase UB pro case on. I have removed the build in plastic screen protector and have used the JETECH pack of 2 9H tempered glass but I can see a tiny gap around the power button and the area below the pen slot is also having a gap. Suggest me come budget tempered glasses that fit his case. It is fine if they only cover the display area and not the camera or bezels.

Poetic Revolution vs Guardian

Hi guys, I wanna know which of these cases is the better one. I have a sandstone grip case from Kapaver but I am worried that the lack of dust cover will make things worse. The guardian and revolution by poetic both have a dust cover but both seem similar in terms of durability.

Which one should I go for?

Are BOE and AUO panels interchangeable in LOQ 15IAX9?

Hi, my LOQ 15IAX9 unit came with a BOE panel that failed within 2 years of ownership and light use. This time I have decided to do my own replacement as I have no warranty left and worried about more issues if I send it to the service center, as I have a lot to use and they don’t cuz with no warranty literally all of their faults will have to paid out of my own pocket anyways.

But this time I wanna go for the AUO panel as I have heard they are of better quality and more reliable than BOE brand.

I called and checked with Lenovo to confirm that a part number ending with 73 is an AUO brand panel and shows up under “alternatives” for my serial numbers.

I just want to confirm that it’s compatible.

I asked with the Lenovo agent and they can’t claim anything as they suggest me to go for the part number ending with 78 as it’s BOE and my unit came with that.

▲ 6 r/LenovoLOQ+2 crossposts

Parts ending with 72, 73 and 78, all with different pricing. The price gaps are not big, and they all seem to be the same specification - 300 nit, 100% SRGB, IPS, Anti-glare.

I am confused on what part to order. I want to do the repair myself as the laptop is out of warranty and I am comfortable with this. My LOQ display had issues 8 months after its warranty expired in September 2025.

u/olhorse20 — 2 months ago

I myself have been a victim of spontaneous display failure on my LOQ 15IAX9. Upon digging through previous posts on this sub Reddit, it turns out that this is not a rare case. It happens to almost every other LOQ user with similar posts about the same issue popping up almost daily.

Almost all users who have replaced the display via official Lenovo channels report that the same issue happened with the replacement display.

Why does this happen? What is the exact root cause of display failure on Lenovos? Can it be fixed via DIY?

I am planning on doing the display replacement myself as I do not trust my laptop with a Lenovo authorised technician. As my laptop is out of warranty and well past the 90 day warranty extension period after warranty expiration, I have a lot to loose if the technician creates a fault on my device even if it’s accidental on their end and Lenovo has a lot to gain sucking repair money out of my pocket.

Also a question to those who have done their repairs in their own- does Lenovo include adhesive strips with the official replacement display part? Or do we need to buy them separately?

I lowkey regret not getting the extended warranty for my LOQ 15IAX9. I read that Lenovo in some cases allows for extended warranty way part the 90 day extension window after warranty expires. My warranty expired back in September 2025. I tried to get hold of customer service and they said no.
