Substitution for Levels Protein?

I’m a smoothie shop owner and I supply my store with Levels Protein powder for their good ingredients and taste. They’ve recently increased their prices significantly to where I don’t feel comfortable raising my prices to match the new cost and just want to switch to a new brand. Everything in my store is gluten free with zero added sugars (excluding natural sugars from fruit, agave, and honey) so that’s one of my requirements. A wholesale option would be ideal but not required

Small win from today!

I’ve posted here before about my smoothie cafe and how I became the owner just this month after working there for over a year.

Today, I released a new product I used to love from Colorado. A company called Outrageous Baking makes vegan and gluten free sweet bread. They’re so yummy and I was always so sad they’re a Colorado company and have never been able to find them in any stores where I live now on the east coast.

Once I became the owner of the cafe, I immediately reached out and asked if they ship nationwide. They said they did and they’d even include some signage in my first order. I finally had my order of bread arrive today just in time for lunch.

By the time my day ended, I’d already sold three entire loaves worth (24 individual pieces) and they were my best seller of the day! The retail/snack section of my shop has been desperately needing new products and this one has felt like a massive success, every other customer bought one or two pieces and one customer bought 5.

Feeling like you made the right decision is such a great feeling I just wanted to share with others!

What are you paying for utilities?

I just got my first electricity statement and it appears between July 14 and July 23 we used 849 kWh and it’s $603.54. Does that sound unreasonably high to anyone? We’re a small smoothie cafe with one standing freezer, one deep freezer, one single door refrigerator, one single door cooler, two blenders, and our POS system (one monitor). Our store is maybe 600 sqft and we’re open from 8-3. I should mention I’m in Virginia where there’s no shortage of data centers

Looking for a Belgian waffle recipe

I own a vegan/gluten free smoothie shop that caters to a number of allergies. I’ve been wanting to expand our food menu and have considered Belgian waffles but I’m struggling to find a decent recipe online that doesn’t require numerous ingredients. In my store I already have gluten free oats, numerous non dairy milks, fresh bananas, agave/honey, cinnamon, and chia seeds for example so I’d love to try and work with what I have and only need to supply a couple ingredients if needed.

Cheaper alternatives to Quickbooks

Small, one employee (plus me), smoothie shop making $10,000-$15,000 per month and needing a service to track expenses. My previous employer mentioned he felt like Quickbooks was too expensive and there were better/cheaper alternatives so I was wondering what other cafes use with similar cash flow

Counter storage for powders

These screenshots show powder containers used at Starbucks (first picture) and at Tropical Smoothie (second picture) and I would like to purchase similar storage for my smoothie shop. I can’t find anything similar through Walmart or Webstaurant so I’m worried they might be purchasable only through those companies personal ordering websites. Similar containers I find online are too tall for my counters and take up too much space while I can’t find a similar storage rack like the second picture anywhere that holds individual cups. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction to where I could find the same or similar storage?

Preferred brands of chai concentrate

I’m the business owner of a smoothie shop with a background in coffee/barista work. My landlord won’t allow me to incorporate coffee into my menu (my store is next door to an Einstein Bagels and Starbucks) but I can get away with tea. In the future I’d love to make my own chai concentrate but I don’t currently have the facilities to make my own but I would still want to incorporate it for my fall menu and potentially be a permanent menu item.

Our whole menu is vegan and gluten free so I would prefer a chai that compliments non dairy milks well and would also blend nicely into smoothies. If this is the wrong place to ask I apologize!

People coming in and asking you to sponsor events with free products

Does anyone else constantly deal with this? People that aren’t previous customers or people I know are constantly coming into my store and asking for free products for events. Is this a common occurrence for others?

34M and I need a bikini top asap

My fiancé sprang on me that he’s taking me to the beach in a couple weeks and I don’t have any swimwear. I usually shop at Forest Ink (I’m goth) and now that their swimwear is easily over $100 that’s not an option anymore. Torrid isn’t an option because all their band sizes are too big on me and their cups are too small, I’d prefer to not shop on Amazon because I don’t want to wait for something to be delivered and have it not fit (also fuck Jeff Bezos), and Target never has any options that fit. I will not purchase fast fashion so please no SHEIN, Hot Topic, or Killstar recommendations they don’t carry sizes that fit me anyway!

Please tell me I don’t have to replace the transmission

2017 3.6R Outback 180k miles, couple days ago I was about to head to work and when I pulled onto the main road at around 20-30 mph my car was bucking and lurching and not shifting into gear. U-turned and headed back home and driving under 20 mph the car drove perfectly fine. Took it to Subaru and they said they reprogrammed the CVT and couldn’t get it to act up again. This morning I was heading to work again and this time it was at the lower speeds it was slightly jerking and bucking but settled at highway speeds. I plan on bringing it back to Subaru but I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if they ended up needing to replace the CVT

What color would you replace the green with?

Green wasn’t my choice! The second slide shows the picture I’m considering to replace the green but wanted some insight. This is a smoothie shop for reference so there’s plans for lots of plants and potentially a plant themed mural in the space above the tables. The store doesn’t get much natural light so I wanted to stick with a lighter color palette
