aa.com.trThe Disappearance of Zigmund Adamski
Zigmund Adamski was an English coal miner who disappeared in June 1980. Five days later, he was found on top of a ten-foot high pile of coal twenty miles from his home. He was wearing a suit, but his shirt, watch, and wallet were missing. I've also heard that his outfit was put on haphazardly as if the person who did it didn't know what went where. He had mysterious burns on his head, neck, and shoulders in a ring-like pattern that had been treated with a strange, unidentified ointment (described by one of the cops, Alan Godfrey, as a yellowy/green substance).
Even though he had been missing for five days, the coroner found that his beard only had one day's worth of growth and his hair was cut. His eyes were wide open and his face frozen in fear. His suit was completely clean despite being on top of a pile of coal, leading investigators to believe that he was placed there. The coroner concluded that he died of a heart attack but couldn't determine where he'd been beforehand. Alan Godfrey, the cop I mentioned earlier, had a UFO encounter months after Zigmund's body was discovered in an area only a mile from where he was found. They've never discovered what exactly happened to Zigmund.
What's the longest time it's taken for a package you shipped internationally to get to its destination?
I've only shipped internationally three times so far. One was to Singapore, one South Africa, and one to an American military base. I shipped the South Africa and Singapore ones at the same time a month ago. Singapore got there a few weeks ago, but South Africa might take another week or two (if I'm lucky). Apparently, South African mail is just like this. I saw some guys in the Cape Town subreddit talking about it taking months to get a package. I was wondering if any of you had any stories of international mail taking forever.
This has to be one of the funniest covers I've seen (X-Men: Xenogenesis #3)
I think I hate free shipping
I did free shipping for a bunch of items and, while it lead to a few sales, I think it was largely a failure. I don't like being taken advantage of and that's exactly what free shipping feels like. I can't offer discounts if I'm paying shipping yet people still want a discount. I accidentally gave one out recently without realizing I was offering free shipping. Not doing that ever again. I made sure I removed free shipping on basically every item I had. I don't mind reduced shipping rates (especially for media mail since I know exactly what shipping will be), but free shipping is too much of a hassle.

hrw.orgAll Colors Sam may have been a non-corporeal being
I've always been fascinated by Sam the Sandown Clown. It's such a bizarre story but that weirdly makes it more realistic. Honestly, I'm kind of more liable to believe an alien encounter story if the alien is something really weird.
After reading more about the story, I realized that Sam was likely a non-corporeal entity. He describes himself as a ghost but not really. His face doesn't seem permanent. He's described as eating berries by putting them in his ear and having his eyes take them to his mouth. He calls himself "all colors" which makes me think he's made of light since light itself is made up of all colors. Light can be turned into mass through artificial means so, perhaps, there's some planet where this happened naturally.
His clown-like appearance could've been a suit he was wearing to interact with the world. His species could convert sugar into food like a plant which would explain why he was only eating berries. This is all conjecture, but it's something interesting to think about whether it's a true story or not.
Barney Frank, Gay Pioneer and Liberal Stalwart in Congress, Dies at 86
nytimes.comTIL about Unit 684, a South Korean black ops group. Of the 31 initial members, 7 died during their harsh training. The 24 survivors later staged a mutiny, killing their guards and hijacking a bus to Seoul before being stopped by the military. 20 members died in the shootout. The rest were executed.
en.wikipedia.orgBased on my research, I believe this is from the artist Patrick Murphy. It looks similar to some of what he's made and the signature is similar to his. I could be wrong so maybe someone here might know.
This is from a painting I own. It's from the Qing dynasty artist Yun Shouping, I believe. Google does translate it, but it's translation uses modern Mandarin. I think this is the Classical Chinese from that era and wanted to ask around and figure out what it is.
Last night, I made my first sale and didn't expect it to happen so fast. I listed a rare Pokémon card and got an offer within literal minutes. Now, I have until Friday to ship it. I'm a little nervous since I was unprepared and made this post to get some advice. I don't have a top loader or anything so, as stupid as it sounds, my plan is to put the card in a small plastic bag, put that bag in an envelope, and tape that envelope to the inside of a postal box. That should keep it safe and secure. I also used my personal bank account, but I'll probably open a second checking account soon and use that instead. I was planning on using PayPal, but they got rid of that for sellers.
