I’m seeking recommendations for a good video camera for instruction design

I usually take videos with my iPhone 16 at 4K. But I’m looking for a professional video camera. I create instructional design videos for the organization I work for. Can anyone recommend some good video cameras?

Thanks

My team loves the qr-code videos! But how do I make sure its popularity doesn’t result in Articulate courses being replaced?

The QR codes to video turned out to be a great hit with my team. However, I am worried that they are going to forget about courses in articulate 360 and just want to go with the QR codes altogether. What should I do to prevent this takeover from happening.

What the best way to succeed under a new LD manager?

They still have not hired someone to take over my manager’s position. They have been interviewing a few people. I just worry that this person’s not gonna fit into the company culture. I wanna make sure that everything goes smoothly and that I will continue to be able to shine with a new manager directing my work. I sure hope they hire someone from within the company, but it doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen. What’s the best way to succeed with an outsider coming in to take the role of my manager?

We got two mattress, spring hybrids, but one feels firmer than the other

I had a horrible experience with mattress warehouse getting the correct products. They finally sent us two hybrid spring mattresses, that we ordered, but for the life of me one feels harder than the other. The other mattresses feels great! Mine still feels like the firm one they accidentally sent us. They both have the same label. Any suggestions?

Is TechSmith forcing me to purchase annual purchase of Snagit?

I have purchased a one-time license and regularly upgraded Snagit over the many years. Suddenly, I was prompted to enter my software key, even though I had never deactivated it! After attempting to do so, I was informed that I can no longer reactivate my purchase key because I had exceeded my reactivation limit. But I never deactivated it in the first place! I am not interested in a subscription plan and am concerned that this change may also affect my Camtasia account. Has anyone else been locked out of their Snagit one-time license purchase as a way of forcing you to purchase their annual plan?

Is my old website lost if transfer wasn’t completed?

I dropped the ball, I admit. A few years ago, a GoDaddy rep talked me into transferring my hosting service. At the time, I was using a cPanel hosting plan that charged me for SSL certificates. The rep told me that if I switched to a WordPress hosting plan, I would get two SSL certificates for free.

All of my domains were transferred to the new account. However, two of my live websites got stuck in the middle of the transition because certain DNS changes were never completed. Since I had just started a new job, I kept putting off finishing the process. Now a GoDaddy rep is telling me those websites can’t be found. Is that true? Is there a way to find the lost website? I do have a downloaded back up. Can that be used?

And why is it that every time I call GoDaddy, the person on the phone tries to sell me a new service?

When do videographers rename their video clips and how do keep track of everything?

I’m new to videography. I am importing video clips into Adobe Premiere Pro and exporting them for instructional design purposes.

I would like to learn the process of keeping track of the clip naming conventions. For instance, do I rename the exported clip? How do I keep track of the new name to try video clip number? Do I use an excel or word document to keep track?

I would really appreciate it, if anyone could help me with the documentation process for videography.

Thank you

Can we text iPhone photos that were shot in RAW mode?

I took many photos in raw mode for people as portraits. I want to text them these photos. But since they were shot in raw mode, do I have to convert them to JPEG’s before you text them to the other people on an iPhone or android?

I’m pondering applying for my previous managers role

My previous managers role has been posted online. I’m wondering if I should apply for it. The pay raise would be substantial.

I’m happy where I am. More importantly, I’m respected for my skills and work ethic.

Honestly, I’m already doing some of what the entails. However, I wouldn’t want to have to hire and manage another instructional designer. Maybe I can perform both roles!

Has anyone been in this type of situation?

QRCode to ID Video

What’s your he best option to get a video to play via a QR code? Articulate doesn’t cut it because there is always the sign in option.
Perhaps adding the video to SharePoint?

If anyone has had success getting a QR code to point to videos, I would love to learn how you did it.

One more thing: I’m certain my organization is not going to want to use Vimeo or YouTube.

Edit: I need help getting the video to play without any sign in required from Sharepoint, or any sign in visible from Review 360.

How do I even out grass strip?

Years ago the town removed a tree here. Since then, the dirt has been uneven. How should I go about correcting filling in this low section of the dirt? I want to make sure I do it correctly? Or should I hire someone to do it?

Thanks! less

ID really is a thankless career, isn’t it?

Oh, I know I’m going to get criticized by some here for posting this. But I’ll post this anyway.

ID might seem glamorous to some. I for one, love this career! But I feel it’s a thankless position in an organization. There is no recognition, and no rewards given.

If only they knew the work that goes into these courses.
