Regal Shield
Just another leaf, recent repot and about to sprout another. Proud of this!

Working on some things. My dining room/kitchen area contents.
My Dracaena decided it was time for a new branch, breaking its own apical dominance out of pure luck!
This is showing massive promise and success in having been topped and notched. Confirmed without a doubt, four new branches emerging from a now~1ft tall Ficus Tineke!
Second photo is a potential fifth one making grounds on the lowest active leaf node with a torn leaf.
Third photo of its position in my south facing window.
Wondering if I should/could do anything to control the angle/direction at which these new branches’ll grow.
Would love some opinions, tips, or suggestions!
I’ve always enjoyed walking into someone’s place to see a load of different types of plants. I’m now that person! Now I need to buy more shelving, ha.
A friend/employee at the plant shop I visit had a conversation with me about thrips, which she had gotten at one point. I told her I didn’t have them before, and she said “yet”. I’ve been worrying all morning, but have yet to see signs of thrips, ever. Only spider mites and aphids, which are easily managed.
Just anxious, and hoping I never get them, or that if I do I can manage them easily.
I like this Philodendron, so I’ve split it into five.
About three weeks ago I topped and notched my Tineke, and it’s growing four branches now. This was my first attempt ever at notching a plant. It’s growing four new branches!
Fourth picture is the latest, and it’s definitely working! 🖤🤘
There’s an Echiveria I like. So I’m making more…
I’ll pot them soon.
I think I’m taking good care of my Regal Shield!
Just a couple cute little blooms.
Picked this up at the plant store today. It was calling my name, and the staff was urging me to take it home. Couldn’t resist. Nomnom!!
I just chopped the top off my ficus for the first time and proceeded to notch it in two places also for the first time.
I’m nervous..
Will post updates if progress happens!
I do fear that cutting and notching it in the slightly-still-green stem will not yield the wanted results, however.
I do plan on rooting the top, so hopefully that also goes well.
Send some love!
