What would be your story?

Everybody’s going through or has gone through something traumatic. The show is a clear example of how when we’re alone, we are stuck with our thoughts. Sometimes it forces contestants to face something they haven’t dealt with and other times it’s gives them perspective that they weren’t able to see until they were alone.

Right before Christmas last year, I received a text from my mother (64) saying “I need help”. She was in a rehab facility (basically a nursing home) getting therapy because she had some weakness after a case of pneumonia. Once I got in touch with her she told me she wanted to go to the hospital but they wouldn’t call 9-1-1. Once I got there, the nursing director tried to talk me out of sending her for almost an hour. I finally threatened to call myself and they sent her. She ended up dying the next day from sepsis.

The “I need help” message haunts me all the time. I just know I would lose it once I’m alone in the middle of nowhere.

If you’d like/need to share, what’s your story?

What happens to judges if they make bad judgements?

A couple of examples, Someone is convicted of a violent crime, judge goes easy during sentencing, criminal gets out and does it again. Or a custody hearing. A judge gives custody to mom against advice from CPS and the biological father and then something awful happens to the child because of the judge's decision.

Do judges ever get in trouble with....idk anyone for making a bad call? Or is it just an "oops my bad".

Edit: I used "bad judgement" and "get in trouble" too loosely. A bad outcome does not mean a judge made a bad judgment. So if someone reoffends later, judge acted improperly. Got that part.

What I'm really trying to ask is, what if the concern is not just that the person reoffended? What if, at the time of sentencing, the judge ignored required legal factors, disregarded major evidence, failed to follow sentencing law, or gave a sentence that was not supported etc.? If the judge is immune from being personally sued for that decision, is there any accountability path other than appeal, public criticism, or losing reelection/reappointment especially since impeachment is so rare?

Like, is there any routine oversight of judicial behavior, or does the system only notice when someone appeals or files a complaint or media gets involved?

Realistically, How am I supposed to get help with DTE bill?

I currently qualify for help wth energy bill. DTE wants me to enroll in a Low Income Self Sufficiency plan. Great sign me up! Only one issue, I cant get signed up. Every agency DTE recommends/refers me to is almost impossible to get in contact with or put in an application.

MDHHS helped one time and said its once per fiscal year. I tell DTE this every month but all they do is refer me to the above places.

I understand that there are A LOT of people who need help right now....It's almost as if DTE is the problem...

How to label documents and emails?

So I have a bit of a unique situation. An eccentric solo attorney has agreed to take my special education FAPE case and will get their fees from the school district however, he said that it would really help him out if I could organize my own documents as he’s so busy.

I have a lot of email chains. I know not to send the chains, but how do I label and organize them?

Do I get each email, both to and from, and just label it?

Like, “2025-14-11- IEP Meeting Reminder from District”
“2025-14-11- Reply to District about IEP Meeting”

Also, when I googled, I saw where some people use excel sheets to list organize each document/item. Do you all recommend this?

Any help is greatly appreciated, trying not to bother asking him anymore questions because he’s technically doing me a favor and I also plan on asking for a job sometime in the future.

How enforceable are “unlawful for any other use” labels?

If my home defense bug spray makes a good window cleaner and someone decides to lick the window and then is poisoned, ends up with a bunch of hospital bills and missed paychecks, would they the person who licked the window have a case for damages against me based on that label?

Edit: clarification

“Single moms can’t teach boys how to be men”

If you’re a single mom, you’ve probably heard that before. Ignore them and focus on raising a good human instead. It will all fall into place.

My son will be 7 this year, almost seven years without a father figure in his life and he is kind, empathetic doesn’t believe in gender roles (meaning his cleans up and wants to cook) and is just all around a good tiny human.

I believe people who say that are desperately trying to find a sense of belonging and cling on to the only things they feel defines them: their genitalia and masculinity

Edit: I just want to make it clear. This post is not about if single moms can or can’t teach boys how to be men. The post is actually in response to the quote in the title that I hear so often.

Father figures and positive male role models are absolutely needed, I’d never imply that they aren’t. What I am saying is don’t have a shitty man in your baby’s face for the sake of having a “father figure” in his life and don’t let society bully you into thinking you are just hopeless as a parent raising a boy by yourself (I.e. “Single moms can’t teach boys how to be men) It takes more than just owning a penis to be a good man and a good role model.

Focus on raising a good human.

Has anyone taught at a Psychiatric hospital? I'm considering it.

I know it'll be more emotional/behavioral kids but my thinking is that I may have more support than I do in a traditional school.

I figure worst case scenario, theres a better procedure for violent actions.

Anyone with experience?

Can I ask for gold teeth?

I currently have braces and I need to get two molar implants at the bottom on each side. (Pregnancy!) Im due to see the OMS soon to get a treatment plan, can I just ask for gold teeth?

Obviously, he’ll either say yes or no but since nobody around me advertises that they do them, I’m wondering if they’re even still being done.

I’ve heard how they rarely pull from it so I’m taking it as an R. Can’t say I’m surprised. 16low. Gonna retest and reapply next cycle!

Good luck to everyone else!!

You just don’t care enough to figure out how to do it. And if you still can’t “figure it out” why not take them to someone that can do it for you.

It’s actually so frustrating and disheartening to see this.

You leave your house put together, your kids deserve that same dignity.

Alright, disclaimer. I don’t have a man right now so I absolutely slacked on my winter body care routine. This has caused my KP to come back.

Here’s what I’m doing to get right for summer in a hurry.

MyTopicals Slather Bar Soap

Ammonium Lactate 12%

It’s been a week and you wouldn’t even know I purposely avoided lotion on my legs for the past 6 months. (I don’t like the way it feels under my clothes lol)

I use the soap every night and the lotion twice morning and night, but definitely start out slow if you need to. I have pretty tough skin. The ammonium lactate is the same active ingredient as AmLactin, just way cheaper.

Of course make sure to wear sunscreen on exposed areas during the day since these actives will make you more sensitive to the sun.

This cycle overwhelmed them. They’re going to figure out how to tell AI what they’re looking for in a personal statement and then use it to compare similar applicants in both stats and stories. Then they’ll get the applicant pool down enough to be manageable by a human.

They won’t announce it either, everything will just start to go a bit smoother.

I have no hard evidence, just a gut feeling. Can’t say that I wouldn’t consider it if I ran a multimillion dollar law program and needed a cheap way to make my staff’s job easier.
