Does an air purifier help with circulation of air?

This may be a dumb question, but we have an office where me and my wife like to sit and study and that room during the summers can get quite stuffy. We live in TX and our HVAC isn't the best but it keeps that room closer to 76-77 in that room even though we have it set to 72 in the house. It's one of the rooms on the far end, however we do have a ceiling fan running 24/7 in there just to make it more comfortable. We have a Levoit pet 350-P in our bedroom, but wondering if I move it to that room, would it help increase the comfort via air circulation?

What do you really think of the squier?

I'm making this post because honestly some of these guitars are beautiful looking but of course they are quite expensive. I currently have an old fender strat and a Martin acoustic. I want to own a telecaster at some point (Springsteen!) but the finances are not there. Is it truly an inferior experience or is it just people get used to a "lifestyle" of higher quality guitars? Just curious as to what the pros and cons are to owning a budget guitar? I have a squier strat that was bought off FB but unfortunately sometimes the neck feels rough from the sharp frets. Just wondering everyone's opinion. Am I better off waiting until an opportunity comes along?

Paying $83/mo for one line (paid off Pixel 7). How can I stack discounts?

I currently own a Pixel 7 that has long been paid off, however the only discount that I am getting is where you request a pin to transfer out service. I think at one point I verified that I was a student and that same month they got me down to $60 but for some reason that only lasted a month. If I am a single line and I don't need any extra stuff other than typical phone service, what can I stack for discounts? Can the student discount stack with anything else? What should I appox. be paying per month? Will it help to call a service agent on their hotline? Sorry for so many questions, but it seems confusing that there is no universal way to get your bill down.

Is there a trick to reading tape measure when it ends in a corner?

I'm building some basic closet shelves and I take the tape measure and pull more than needed and measure the span of the closet. Some of my cuts end up with a bigger gap than I intended and I don't understand why. Especially if I'm going to put 3 cleats and then a platform on top, I measured and it seems like it's 58 inches and 13/16th. When I bend it in the corner, it doesn't lay flat against the wall so I usually approximate. Is there a trick to it?

Edit: wow! I was not expecting this many replies when I woke up!

Taking a Electrical engineering Technician job, while working on EE B.S. What's the difference in responsibilities?

I have been applying for jobs for a while while working part-time and going to school (3rd year EE degree). Recently I was called back for an interview for an electrical engineering technician job but I'm having trouble differentiating the duties of what I would be doing on a day to day basis. The pay lands between 80 to 90k according to the job listing, but should I just accept the lowest since I have job history but not in this field? It is for a major company that produces doors and windows for residential houses. Also, would this make going to school more difficult since it will be a full time role? What is expected from an EET vs an EE? Thank you guys! Still learning about the field.

How to slightly move dishwasher out to fix door hinge in tight space?

We have the dishwasher and it works fine but the door falls and I know that it's just a couple of pieces on either side will slow it down. However, the previous owner put it in such a tight spot that even pulling it a little causes the counter to slightly lift. Is there an "easy" way to slightly pull it out without damaging the top and tile at the bottom or am I screwed?

Deoxit can shipped to me without a spray nozzle. How to get a spray nozzel that works?

I just bought a 5oz can Deoxit D5 for my guitar pots. Unfrotunately, it was shipped to me without a spray nozzle. Amazon let me keep the item and gave me a refund and I will be ordering a new one but I still want to make use of this can. How can I find a spray nozzle or replacement so this can doesn't go to waste?

Can someone help me understand this Paracho guitar?

This is my father in laws who has since passed many years ago. He was Mexican and played in mariachi bands in the 90s. I know guitars from the US but I don't understand these and I know he also had a requinto guitar. This was in really rough shape because the nut and bridge has to be repaired as well as the tuners. Does anyone know anything about these guitars? Honestly, it feels so light and cheap it makes me think it's a kid guitar. Maybe that's just me not knowing anything. Is there a way to find out whether this was a quality guitar or a cheap one?

Is this normal for a tub spout flow?

I have been slowly replacing the trim on a tub and everything has been going quite well up until this tub spout. It is a slip on and a mixet valve. It's a positive action spout and I have triple checked that I cut the copper pipe jus right and deburred it as perfectly as I could. It just kinda seems like the water is spraying rather than a concentrated flow. Is this normal? I'm twisting the mixet knob in this video. It almost feels like it's spraying back towards the overflow.

How do you know whether you should replace just brake pads vs both pads and rotors?

I have a 2023 Nissan Altima that I bought used about 2 years ago. As far as I know, it's been taken care of and I have done regular oil changes on it as well as the basic engine filters/cabin filters. It's currently at 54k miles and within the past month I've noticed when braking, I've felt slight grinding in the pedal. The steering wheel is not vibrating or anything, just the slight grinding feeling, but not noise. When I look at the rotors they still look super shiny and feel smooth with no grooves or anything on them in the front. Would it be okay to replace with either Bosch or akebono brake pads, or should I be doing the rotors as well?

Why does my copper pipe for tub spout have two small holes at the end?

I'm gonna be cutting off a quarter inch to put a slip on tub spout so there's no major gap in the back. However, our house is from 1976 so I'm always finding fun surprises and figured I'd ask before I cut off the end of this pipe. Does anyone know why those holes would be there? Also, bonus question...why is there a metal square on the back of the pipe?

I had just replaced the shower cartridge and was going to replace the tub spout as well. The water flow sounded different and I wasn't sure if this is normal behavior for a mixet valve.

Please excuse the atrocious bathroom 😭

u/orbit0317 — 2 months ago

I apologize the bathtub looks the way it does. It's like I'm trying to beautify a piece of shit 🤣. I just changed the shower cartridge for a mixet valve and everything works fine from that point. However, before I changed the cartridge, I noticed when changing the temperature of the water the flow sounded different and off. I took off the spout and saw this. Is this normal behavior and I don't normally see it, or what the hell is going on with this portion of it? Is this a DIY job? Thank you for help in advance!
