About that Friday 7/3/26 Rancho Cordova collision at the SacRT Gold Line
Just saw this today. Everything's OK now, it was taken care of Friday night.
SacRT on their Facebook page reported that this was caused by a pickup truck driver deciding to go around downed crossing guard arms. The pickup truck was struck by a Gold Line train heading towards Downtown.
Somewhere during Friday's discussion on r/Sacramento, it was mentioned how the wait seems so long for a train to pass through that others have been seen copying this driver's actions. Because there are 2 tracks here, a vehicle could be struck by 2 consecutive trains in opposite directions.
Not worth it to all involved, including the train operator(s), passengers, people nearby and original driver too.
EDIT: Found a report done by FOX40 about this, how the pickup truck got pinned by Kilgore Dr and the driver was taken to a trauma center,
