Hi, I’m currently struggling as I know someone who’s faking BPD and I’m kinda just looking for others to share their experiences.

This person I know is obsessed with the idea of having BPD, non stops talks about it and refuses it could be anything like autism. I have diagnosed BPD so as soon as they found out they clung to me like glue constantly questioning my symptoms which I did not give info on (this was the first interaction we ever had and continues still till this day) her boyfriend fakes a lot of stuff too like his life, heritage, DID and personal info. It’s mind blowing tbh. Anyways this friend puts on theatrics in front of people. It’s not real you can tell it’s not. Everything is so forced in a baby voice rather than like an actual BPD episode. They were never in mental health services as a teen and was able to control emotions. Their mum grabbed their arm once during an argument and now they have to wear a sock on their arm and if you grab it they have full blown extreme flash backs that you’d only really see in war survivors and soldiers. That part I find disgusting. They had admitted to me this only happened once so is it fuck a flash back. Honestly I just wanna find people who relate to my situation as it’s engulfing for someone with BPD to deal with this bs. One thing they also do which is fucking weird is ss and send me their “text episodes” to their partner that go like this:

I hate you
I hate you
I fucking hate you
Don’t speak to me again I fucking hate you
You’re not even responding I hate you
I love you so much
I really love you

- this is not a BPD episode or freak out -
This is staged text book symptoms you see on TikTok. It pisses me off to think that they’d think I’d agree this is fine. Although their bf is a DID faker I do feel bad for him because it’s 2 fakers bouncing off of eachother being gullible and he gets physically hurt all the time.

It’s so draining knowing someone like this who puts on a baby voice and thinks it’s a BPD episode. Its like they age regress when they become “angry” it’s weird.

Hi I’m currently studying psychology and I’ve met a person in the past I thought was faking the BPD. However I always kept my mind open and was trying to understand different possible viewpoints. I was wondering if anyone here has met someone faking BPD and been able to tell if they’re faking it? I’m so curious on the warning signs and alarms as it is sadly a disorder common to be used cosmetically. I never took the time to explore warnings signs in behaviour as I was too focused on keeping a friendship positive and that’s where my curiosity has come from. It’s hard to find study’s and articles online about this question.

I also understand each persons emotional struggles are real regardless if it is one thing or another. Im just curious on warning signs of people misusing the BPD label.

Even just plain highschool romance animes with more of a cheerful vibe maybe where the girl getting bullied ends up having a glow up or popular. I hope I can get some help I understand I’m very picky with animes but I’m trying to ease myself back into watching them.
