2 days in Porto- recommendations please

Hi,

Married couple going to Porto for 2 days next week(wife's 50th birthday & our 20th wedding anniversary). Staying in Torel Palace.
Happy to mainly wander along, relaxing, take the city in, sit out sitting a beer/wine, enjoy the food and atmosphere.

Will stroll accross the bridge, visit Livaria Lello (and book tickets), Igreja do Carmo. I don't wan to have a strict itinerary, happy wandering but will put someting on the list if worth it. So any recommendations please- bars, cafes, restaurants or things that aren't obvious?

Is Jardim do Morro worth it for the sunset or over-crowded?
Which beach is the nicest?
Any restaurant for an occasion (not fish)?
Is it worth getting a tram for the experience? Is so any route? possibly to the beach....

Any particular wine cellar to visit?

Agradeço desde já!

Replace roof glass panel on Tesla- looking for places as close to Galway as possible.

Hi,

So a ball seriously damaged the front roof glass pane of my Tesla (2021, model 3). I tried many windscreen companies & garages in Galway- none can do it.

I'd prefer not to have to drive to Dublin or Cork (Tesla centers) to replace it, anyone know somewhere relatively close to Galway (including Limerick/Athlone) that'd do it please?

Thanks in advance.

Hotel recommendation for 20th anniversary

Hi,

20th anniversary trip & wife's 50th birthday, celebrating with a 2 night, 3 day stay in Porto.

Looking for a plush hotel that's central. Lovely bar, atmosphere, breakfast. Pool would be nice but not a deal breaker. End of June.

Any recommendations please? I've been to NOS Primavera twice so barley saw the city. Want to be able to walk out of hotel door and be close to the life/attractions.

Torel Palace Porto is the number 1 on TripAdvisor but wondering what ye luxurious people would recommend!

Thanks in advance!

Hotel recommendation for 20th anniversary

Hi,

20th anniversary trip, celebrating with a 2 night, 3 day stay in Porto. (Was going to go to Barcelona but didn't work out).

Looking for 4 star or better plush hotel that's central. Nice bar, atmosphere, breakfast. Pool would be nice but not a deal breaker. End of June, budget €400 max per night, if less all the better.

Any recommendations please? I've been to NOS Primavera twice so barley saw the city. Want to be able to walk out of hotel door and be close to the life/attractions.

Thanks in advance!

WIBTA if I stopped visiting this community as virtaully very post has such an obvious NO answer?

Hi,

More of a rant.

For virtually very post, it's so obvious that the answer is NO. What happened to the maybe asshole posts?

My friend keeps borrowing money and never pays me back. WIBTA if I stop?
My housemate eats all my food, WIBTA if I confront her?
My boyfriend slept with someone but was drunk, WIBTA if I left him?

WIBTA if I stopped visiting this community as virtaully very post has such an obvious NO answer?

Rambla del Poblenou good place to stay for 3 night trip?

Hi,

Going for 3 nights with my wife. Want to be very near the beach, beach cafes, general cafes, restaurants etc.

I stayed around the corner from Rambla del Poblenou a few years ago and my memories of it are great-chilled, not very touristy, cafes dotted along it.

I know it's away from city centre, that's ok. We can always get a taxi or metro in. Are there any attractions or things to do nearby (besides bars, cafes, beach) & would you recommend it as somewhere to stay?

Thanks in advance!

Romantic destination for 3 or 4 nights

Hi,

Big anniversary coming up so planning a trip away with my wife end of June. Want relaxing break, nice hotel & lovely food (love tapas but doesn't have to be Spain), warm weather, stroll around. Maybe half day trip for walking (Hill walking ok, not mountain climbing), possibly vineyard trip or another activity.

First thoughts-Lisbon, Porto, Lake Garda (1 hour from airport though). Doesn't have to be a big city.

Flring from Knock or Shannon so destination airports:

Alicante

Barcelona

Budapest

Cologne

Frankfurt

Lanzarote

Madrid

Málaga

Malta

Milan (Bergamo)

Palma de Mallorca

Paris

Poznań

Rome

Rovaniemi

Tenerife

Warsaw

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I'm looking for a car garage on the east side of the city or futher out (I'm near Clareaglway) that are happy to work on an EV (not a battery issue) and would have availability in the next fortnight or so.

One garage said not taking on any new customers, another said they don't take EVs

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I have a 2021 Tesla model 3 with 96,000km.

About a month ago loud squeaking from front right wheel area when turning or driving at low speed.

It's meant to be a known issue-premature failure of the front upper control arm (FUCA) ball joints. Water intrusion dries out the joint, leading to a "rusty hinge" sound. This is a well-known issue often covered under warranty.

Via app I got an estimate of €483 for repairs. Is there any chance of Tesla footing the bill as its a known issue, anyone had this issue outside of warranty & did you have to pay?

Thanks in advance,

Patrick
