Always nursing to sleep

My baby will be 6 months old next week. I have always nursed her to sleep. Our pediatrician told us we should start doing the Ferber Method, which just sounds like a variation of Cry it Out to me. I don’t like that. I’m wondering if anyone else exclusively nursed to sleep, for how long, and how did you transition them to falling asleep on their own? The doctor made it seem like if we don’t do it between 6-9 months of age, it will be very difficult to do it later.

Vendor Village Lacking?

This was my first time attending the CF Games, but I’ve been to many regionals (if you’ve been around CF long enough to remember regionals). Does anyone else think the Vendor Village was a little lacking? I expected it to be bigger. However, I will say that I grew up in Columbus, so I am used to the Expo Hall at the Arnold (which is insane). Curious to know how this year’s Vendor Village compares to previous years.

Tips for WFH with nanny?

Pretty much the title. I will be working from home with my 4-month-old and we are hiring a nanny to come 9-4 M-F. I’ve never done this before. What should I know? I’m a FTM and a little sad about handing off my baby to someone else. I’m also still EBF. Am I delusional to think I can keep doing EBF? Literally any and all advice is welcome. Do you provide PTO? How much?

What is the hardest age to WFH with a child?

Pretty much just the title. in your experience, is there a hardest age to patent while WFH?

EDIT: it’s cool to see everyone’s responses, thank you all! It seems like it’s just different for everyone and depends on the child.

Medical Honey for Vaginal Hypergranulation Tissue

4m pp with 3 different tears, one healed by secondary intent because the stitches popped out a few days pp. I can see some hypergranulation tissue inside the vagina. I’m wondering if medical honey can help the hypergranulation tissue go away.

I will see my OB soon, but just wanted to know if medical honey might help in the meantime.

Observation during tummy time?

I want to start the observation (naked) phase of EC, but I also want to do a decent amount of tummy time each day. Has anyone done observation in tummy time? I feel like I won't be able to see her pee until after she's done, then I will miss saying the cue word/sound.

Remote work with an infant

I have a 4-month-old baby and I go back to work (remotely) in a week. I have no idea how I’m going to get anything done. I’m looking for other people’s experiences working from home with an infant.

I can barely get everything done now — cooking, cleaning, doing physical therapy with my baby (she has a flat spot we are trying to fix), doing my pelvic floor physical therapy, making sure the dog gets walked and goes to the bathroom (this is more difficult than it might seem, as we have no yard and are on the second floor), going to the gym, breastfeeding, planning meals and going grocery shopping, etc. I truly don’t know how I’m going to fit 8 hours of work into my day.

Now, she is exclusively breast fed, but when she starts solids in a couple months, that will add more complexity and time to my day (making the food, supervising her while she eats, then cleaning up the mess).

I have a pretty easy going boss and very flexible schedule, but I do have meetings daily as well.

My husband works full time in an office. He helps a lot when he is home, but he is not home during the day.

I have heard that people successfully work from home with a baby, but do you also have time to make home cooked meals and go to the gym and such?

EDIT: we don’t have any family nearby, they all live 1,500 miles away.

Green tea brewing question

I just got a green tea sampler set from The Steeping Room. It has the following:

Organic AMBA Slow Withered Green Tea from Sri Lanka, Tủa Chùa Snow Shan Green from Vietnam, Sae Midori Sencha from Japan, and Bi Luo Chun Green Tea from Taiwan.

They included a little card with instructions on what temperature to use for each tea, which I appreciated. However, I have a newborn and I want to prepare a lot of tea at once. My preferred method is putting some tea in a one-quart mason jar and popping it in the fridge before bed. Then, I have a whole quart of iced tea to sip on throughout the day. Is this an appropriate way to prepare these teas? Am I getting all the good healthy stuff when it is prepared this way?
