SB for maritime vessel positions? (from usaf logistics)

I know this seems random but I want to pursue and try out career on vessels as an ordinary mariner at least or any other practical positions and hope to become able seaman after some sea time. I’m fine being offshore for months at once.

I’m active duty usaf doing logistics works and had no prior sea training.

I know abt the twic, mmc, stcw, etc already and I’ll work on that myself.

Are there any skillbridge opportunities that I can look into that betters my chances at getting hired?

Thank you!

Maritime resume experience for Air Force personnel

Hey guys l’m an active duty Airman stationed in Hampton with the goal of becoming a merchant mariner after separation.

Since Norfolk is such a large port location, is there anywhere I can gain some maritime/ boat related experience to put on my resume (besides stcw mmc twic ofc), maybe some volunteering work or boat club or lessons etc?

Thank you!

Any veteran who became a mail delivery driver?

Hey I get out in 28 and I’ve been considering what profession would suit my personality.

I used to look for money and have been wanting to become a police officer, however after my deployment I feel like it’s just not for me anymore, I’m quiet, introverted, don’t like guns or talking to people, I prefer working on my own and minding my own business.

I wanna save money for a few years and if I don’t like the civilian job I have, I’ll be able to study full time for a medical program without touching my gi bill.

Anyways has anyone chose to work for fedex? How’s the beginning and how do you like it?

FYI I’m in the military and the Middle East deployment so boring I’ve learnt 2 new languages

Ig this is good, but I’m at a place with no WiFi only cellular for months so far. Can’t do school work or gaming so I’ve been learning language on apps and audiobooks.

I was already fluent in English, Mandarin, and can speak some German. But because of this deployment I’m now abt A2 levels in Polish and Swedish.

Idk what these languages will do for me I just think they’re beautiful. Mostly learning for shit and giggles at the beginning but now I’m actually interested in their cultures.

LPT I’ve been doing this since 6, how to tell 30 vs 31 days in a month

I found out that people around me have actually not know how to remember which month has 31 days.

So imma share it on here in case some have trouble too.

So basically hold out both your fists and count from right to left, knuckles and gaps, knuckles are 31 days and gaps are 30 days.

July & August both has 31 days btw

As the title says, I’m currently in the US military working logistics and I have an associate in transportation. I’m also fluent in German and Mandarin if that’s useful.

I want to be able to find a remote 1099 contract job after separation and move to Poland so I can apply for their self employment visa.

How competitive is this and I’m open to any field.

Is there any programs or trainings that I can do to help me land something like this?

As the title says, I hate my personality and my weakness, I wish I have tougher skin, good personality, and a lot others.

I hate my face my appearance and the way people look down on me.

I don’t make friends and people don’t like me anyways. I’m a whiny lil biatch and I hate how useless I am.

Life is tiring and full of judgment I just wanna rest and be all by myself until I end all of this.

Or whatever profession you got into out of the military that helped you obtain work visa?

Thanks for advice.

Hello I’m currently active duty with no bachelors considering the path onto studying animal science/ biology and eventually vet school after my enlistment.

  1. Did your veteran status helped you in admission?

  2. Was it hard transitioning back academically and having to support yourself?

  3. Should I try to save my gi bill for vet school or should I use 2 years of it for my undergrad after transferring from cc.

I have previous experience in pharmacy tech and cna before military, I wonder if that’ll help me get some vet hours.

This path will likely take around 7/8 years at least I just wonder if anyone has done it before
