Creep by Jennifer Hillier

Ok so… I absolutely LOVED Jennifer Hillier’s book “The Butcher” so I decided to read another book by her and wow. This. Was. A. DRAG.

It’s hard to call this a thriller because of how SLOW you move through the story.

I like the concept and think that the twist was okay at the end but wow. I had to CHUG through the last quarter - I didn’t want to DNF cause I was hopping for a huge pay off at the end but honestly … I was unimpressed.

What are y’all’s thoughts?

Prime day - color soft?

Okay there are prime deals and I assume there will be more - should I get the color soft or just the paper white?

Why would I want the color soft if I’m not reading comics or something?

Stickers on the Kindle

A lot of people will use inserts to decorate the back side of the kindle - is there a reason no one actually sticks the stickers on the back? Does it like ruin it or something)

The Butcher by Jennifer Hillier

GUYS - this book was so good. It is so fast paced and full of action and great character development.

I absolutely loved it and wish I could re-read it for the first time.

Kept me on the edge of my seat and the twists were so fun!

Anyone know of similar books? I loved the true crime vibe!!

Tender is the Flesh - Augustina Bazterrica

I started reading “Tender is the Flesh” because the premise sounded like something straight up my alley and a little scary BUT dude it was way too intense.

I expected a good amount of gore due to it legit being about CANNIBALISM but dang the book was so graphic in a way I feel didn’t push the story along.

My first DNF in a long time because it just made me uncomfy. (Which I guess was the point - making commentary on how we treat animals in the food industry but cmon)

It seemed less like a horror/thriller and more like a graphic torture porn.

Thoughts?

Actually scary recommendations pls!!

I am looking for a book that will legitimately make me frightened. The book equivalent of a jump scare.

I love psychological thrillers but am craving something more creepy!!

Any recs?

Kindle vs IPhone reading

I am really debating getting a kindle.

My friend has one and loves it but I just read on the kindle app on my phone. Will buying one be worth it?

Do yall take it everywhere? I just feel like the phone is SO accessible but also I like the idea of a notification free device that is essentially digitally unplugging.
