Altec 604e’s in custom cabinets

I have finally built cabinets for the two Altec 604e’s I bought in Great Falls two years ago. The boxes were designed by Bill Fortin. I believe they are derived from the Altec 620. They have the same width but are just a bit taller, and the same size of vent, but split between the two sides.

Here's a little something to start your week. A soulful rendition of 'Battle Hymn of the Republic'

Herbie Mann on flute, Roy Ayers on vibes and congas.

Anybody have opinions on this group of mid 80s Harman Kardon equipment?

There's also a pair of JBL 52t speakers.

Anybody seen one of these lately or know where I might find one?

It's a drafting arm.

Hey now, where to go to get knives sharpened?

I picked up these German made Henckels in Ronan last weekend. I'd like to get them professionally sharpened here in Missoula. I googled it but everyone's favorite 'That Mike guy' decided he needed to fish more, and who can blame him? Any suggestions that don't require a long drive? Thanks!

Are finish restoration questions acceptable here? This is a vintage audio cabinet. It's got some light scuffs that I'd like to buff out, but I have no idea what to use or how. Being that is was commercially mass produced, I assume it's laquer over a filler. Any suggestions?

Found this while cleaning out my childhood bedroom

I got this at an estate sale when I was a kid.

I'm planning to finish/refinish some walnut shelving that came from my childhood bedroom. It had perhaps a wipe down with linseed oil when installed in 1960. It's had a coat of paste wax since then. Would anyone care to suggest a process to get a low sheen finish on it?

It has been disassembled

I got thin ones and two thick ones. The marbling is unreal.

I finally got (almost) all of the bugs worked out of this thing. I put on a refreshed idler and replaced the motor. Part of a dedicated mono system including a Bell 2521 mono tube receiver and an Altec 604d in a DIY 620 cabinet.
