Should I switch to Flesh and Blood just to play a tcg?

Talked with a new shop and asked why Magic was so inconsistent with play times and they said they only get a lot of players Flesh and Blood. I'm struggling to find places to play magic that don't charge to play. I'm on the edge of switching to Flesh and Blood even if I'm not that interested just for somewhere to play a game. Is this a good idea?

Is there a format close to commander? The owner of the store wasn't specific on what the store played

What to do when no one wants you character or their plot?

The title. It just feels like noone wants my characters or thier plots. what should I do outside of solo writing (which lacks the collaboration I crave.)

I have a character from a final fantasy tabletop campaign that I didn't get to even get to roleplay a personality for, the basic background was 'avenging her father's death'. All the games i tried to put her in just sorta wanted something way different than I want to play.

When do I give trying to DM?

Everytime I DM it either results in people loosing interest and I try to throw the kitchen sink at everyone and give everyone what they want to regain interest, Or the game and plot somehow explodes. DMing has become very stressful for me to do but it is the only way to ensure the story I want to tell happens. I have similar problems with prewritten adventures.

How to reintro a character that has been gone a significant time?

I'm trying to reintroduce a character back into a ffxiv rp group that I have been with for a bit. However the character has been gone for several real life months and I don't know how to reintroduce them back. The only major things that the character did with the group was:

  • Go on a free company mission and lose an eye
  • Go on more missions
  • Not really have any close connections really to anyone
  • Not really advance their own plot at all

I'm unsure how to reintroduce the character when they're essentially a random helper to the group with no real history/connections with anyone. The other characters are essentially coworkers they occasionally talk to in relation to my character.

Fantasy novel with a similar feeling/vibe to a Final Fantasy/JRPG? No YA, No LitRPG please.

Trying to get back into fantasy. Thinking something similar to jrpgs and/or final fantasy since that is a general flavor of fantasy that I like in video games. RPGs I have enjoyed in the past: Digital Devil Saga, FF10, The ff14 expansion Shadowbringers, FF9, Octopath Traveller 2, Star Ocean 2. I think the vibe I like is Not afraid to explore dark themes in a mature way but those themes are approached makes the brighter moments stand out a lot more.
