Requesting non renunciations from consulates ourselves?

I applied in Houston many years ago but am eligible for minor issue re-evaluation now. I just looked at the Houston requirements and one thing has changed since I applied... They now seem to require applicants to gather the non renunciation documents from the relevant consulates. Back when I applied this was not a requirement and the consulate did this themselves. In my case I'd require these from Miami and Philadelphia. Yeah, I know.

I do not know if Houston will now make me gather these, but as a precaution it's something I'm considering doing. It's even possible Houston already has them however at the time of my rejection they stated they didn't receive them prior to the minor issue effective date so I can't be certain if they have received them since then, or at all.

If I were to request these myself, what is the process for doing so and what kind of timeline am I looking at to receive them?

Cleaning tips for plastics?

I was recently given a Moccamaster KBGT that was pretty dirty, I think due to the prior owner not cleaning it often and then having it in storage while dirty for a long time. It cleaned up pretty nicely using just dish soap and water, except for the underside of the brew basket lid which has what looks like dried mold on there. I have scrubbed it with a medium stiff brush and tried dish soap, vinegar, baking soda and even barkeeper's friend as a last resort and it's not coming off. My next attempts will be the top shelf of the dishwasher and the CleanCaf cleaning powder, but I'll have to wait for the cleaning powder to arrive. Is there anything else I can try in the meantime? Worst case I'll buy a replacement part if I can't get it clean.

Ski boot fit after healing (Weber A)

I have a nondisplaced Weber A fracture, no surgery. The injured ankle is noticeably larger than my healthy ankle 6 weeks after the fracture, even when kept elevated. Things swell up more after a time on my feet. I'm sure some it temporary swelling but I'm not sure if the bone also grows slightly larger in healing. I normally have thin bony ankles so any difference will be easy to notice.

Eventually I plan to return to a full active sports lifestyle including snow skiing. Properly fitted ski boots are customized by a boot fitter to fit very snugly, enabling proper transfer of energy from the boots to the skis. My boots have custom punch outs and molding in the shells to match my foot and are worn with a custom orthotic sole.

Am I likely to need new, larger boots because of the larger ankle? Or will the swelling decrease long term, like in a year or longer?

Make sure to re-add today's (July 6) world cup games to your library again

It looks like there's an issue with the meta data you may need to add these matches to your library again even if you did before. I just noticed these games are not set to be in my library. I previously set it to record all world cup matches and today's are not included because the titles and formatting in the live guide is different from prior days. I've seen this happen with other sports before, causing me to miss events. With this being one of the biggest USA soccer match days YTTV is going to make a lot of people very angry if they don't fix this before tonight. YTTV, do better. This kind of stuff is unacceptable especially when it comes to sports events.

Open links in external browser setting stopped working

Android v2026.26.0 on Pixel 7

My settings are set to open links in external browser but they are opening in the Reddit browser and then I have to manually click a couple things to open the same page externally. This has been happening for the past few days. I've restarted the app, toggled the setting off and on, neither made a difference. How do I fix this? I have no desire to use integrated app browsers.

Please bring back apple coffee cake!

Several weeks ago my store had an apple version of the ready to eat coffee cake in the bakery. It was delicious, better than the usual cheese and strawberry flavors because of the cinnamon crumble topping. I asked about it recently and the bakery told me it was a one time thing unfortunately. Please make it again or better yet offer it all the time!
