On day 16 of a virus and no end in sight.

I've been sick for so long. Now I have an ear infection. GP has listened to my lungs so no concerns there. I just feel depleted. My body is so exhausted from fighting. My ear hurts. I don't know what to do.

How do you deal with a 3 year old constantly pushing, hitting and snatching from baby?

I feel like I've tried everything. We've done consequences, taking the toy away, removing toddler from the room. He just doesn't care. How long do I keep doing this before he learns?? My 8 month old is always getting hurt and crying because of the three year old. 8 m/o is crawling and is so curious. But even just coming too close to the three year old often means he'll get pushed over. And now the 3 year old has grown more confident and is starting to push kids at playgroup or the playground. Those situations are easier coz I can just say we're leaving, but at home I'm out of ideas on what to do in response.

For those with small spaces, did you have 2 highchairs?

We only have a small dining area, so I'm not loving the idea of jamming two highchairs in, but I also think I'm going to need to feed both bubs together soon. Did anyone find some compact highchairs or anything??

How are you managing meal time mess?

The mealtime mess is overwhelming me. I'm so exhausted so the extra effort to clean up can just feel impossible some days. I have a dog but she leaves half the food on the floor anyway. The food is usually moist so it hard to vacuum or sweep. Any tips?

How long did it take for your periods to be sorta normal after it came back post birth??

I've had three periods since giving birth and the last two were just soooo heavy and dragged on for like 10 days (not heavy bleeding all 10 days). No major red flags like clots or filling a pad every hour or anything. I'd see a doctor if I was concerned. But it's just so different to my old periods. Usually day 1 or 2 were heaviest. Now day 3 or 4 is. It's just so weird lol.

They went back to normal pretty much straight away after my last birth.

They're also regular in terms of coming on time. Just the flow is so different.

How can you help ease an autoimmune condition?

Someone close to me has an autoimmune condition. It's pretty well managed. I think the main symptom is that they have a really weak immune system. They catch viruses super easily and then take a long time to recover. Is there anything that would support this?

They already live a pretty healthy lifestyle.

Do you give your kids cash register toys or eftpos?

My 3 year old is just getting into pretend shopping, and I'd like to get him a cash register to play with, but I don't know if he'll understand it since we never pay with cash. He's probably only seen self-serve check outs or people handing over the eftpos machine. We've been pretending to tap his yoto card when playing.

What are your kids using?? I'm probably overthinking it, but I don't care.

Affordable gift for a three year old who has a million toys

I'm going to a three year olds birthday soon. His mum is a bit sensitive and I know she'd be upset if we didn't bring a gift as our own son recently turned 3 and she gave him something.

My problem is that this kid and his siblings have soooo many toys already. I don't really want to add to the junk.

If I were to get a toy I'd want it to be something open-ended that he could play with for many years. Or is there anything else that would be good?

I can't afford to spend much which also limits me. Just after something that a kid will like.

How do you lower stress and overwhelm with multiple little ones?

Everything feels so chaotic at the moment. I have a three year old and 7 month old twins. Just getting out of the house takes forever and is frustrating. The worst time of day is between 2 and 5 as we're at home, the twins are super fussy and I'm so tired by then. I feel so stressed and overwhelmed all the time. I'm so angry and irritable. One of the babies doesn't sleep well so I'm exhausted. I have no time for housework so place gets crazy and causes me stress. I'm just at the end of my rope at the moment. We leave the house every morning, but the afternoons at home are so hard. This season is so fleeting and I want to enjoy it more, but I get so overwhelmed all the time when there's so much grizzling and crying. There's no time to fully decompress. How do you create more peace in your mothering?

7 month old isn't ready for food, but health professionals keep pushing it

My 7 month old isn't showing signs of readiness for food. He has no interest and everytime I've tried giving him food he just looks disgusted and won't try to swallow it. He uses his fist to try and get it out of his mouth.

Has anyone else had a baby like this? I'm normally a pretty laid back mum and just go by "they'll do it when they're ready" for milestones and such (within reason). He's been a slower baby to do things in general and is on the lower percentile for physical development and has seen a physio for it. But everytime we see a paed of MCHN they're so pushy about solids. But he just won't eat them and I don't wanna force it.

Anyone been through this?

I'm talking things like: keeping cleaning products where you'll need them, having a laundry basket in the bathroom to prevent clothes being left on the floor, having a bag hook by the door so bags don't get dumped, keeping a bin in the living room to prevent rubbish accumulating.

Or even little rules that you live by, such as making sure the kitchen is clean before bed. Running the dishwasher each night. One load of laundry a day.

Just any little hacks, if you will, that help you keep your home tidy with minimal extra effort.

My baby seems to be in so much pain the next day if I have legumes. We trialled dairy free and soy free for a month with no improvement. It seems to be mainly legumes that he reacts to for some reason. He's mostly formula fed now, but breastfeeds overnight. Most of our meals contain legumes, so I'm really struggling to start solids because I'm afraid to give him some of our meals. One night I gave him a nibble of some lentil curry and the next day was horrible, but idk if it was just from my milk or because he ate a tiny bit directly through food.

I don't want the hassle of making separate meals for him either. Has anyone had a baby similar and were solids any better??

This Kikuyu is completely tangled under the roots of this tree, so I'm having trouble pulling it out. Any ideas?

EDIT*** I swear if one more person tells me to just pull it out😤😤😤 The issue is that the runners go underneath the tree roots and can't be entirely pulled out, so they keep coming back! The stupid tree is so spikey so it hurts to get under there and have to pull it all the time. I want it GONE.

Sometimes when my 2 y/o (almost 3) gets angry he'll look at me and then hit his little brothers or push them over when they're crawling on the floor. I think he knows it'll upset me since he looks right at me to make sure I saw it. Is this somewhat normal or should I be concerned? He also gives them kisses and cuddles all the time, so I think he loves them. Is this just normal toddler tantrum behaviour??
