Tips for staying full when your dose is waning?

So due to some upcoming life events, my doctor and I have agreed that I should stay on my current dose for the next 2 months. However, I have noticed my appetite has not been as controlled lately. It definitely usually gets less controlled by day 5 and 6 but this has happened sooner and I don't want to screw up the progress I've made with weight loss for the next 2 months.

I always try to eat a lot of fiber (at least 25 grams) but I could do better with protein. I'm wondering if I ate more volume of fresh veggies and fruits if that would help too.

Thoughts?

What food logging apps do you use? Nourish is awful now.

Android phone, USA based btw.

I have been using Nourish and working with a Registered Dietician who I love. She's a wonderful human and so encouraging.

However in the last couple days Nourish did something that is making it nearly impossible for me to log my food and it's seriously pissing me off. They have made updates 3 times since I started and I hate having to relearn the app over and over. I already struggle with being motivated to log my food but I had been doing so good. This latest change is THE ABSOLUTE WORST and I'm about ready to quit. I sent them a very angry email.

That being said, I was never super thrilled with it because I found it less intuitive than other apps I had used in the past but it was nice because my dietician could set my goals and look at my journal. My main complaint was it doesn't have a recipe calculator. When I did Weight Watchers and MyFitnessPal (MANY years ago) they both had where you could put in your recipe and how many servings and it would figure out the nutritional information for you and you could save it. I cook a lot from scratch and Nourish makes it really hard to figure it out and log. I end up defaulting to a lot of packaged food that I can just scan because that's easier but I love cooking good meals too. Especially this time of year when I have my garden and fresh ingredients.

The other benefit is it's all covered by my insurance and I don't REALLY want to pay for another thing but if it's a good one that has the features I want and keeps me on track then it's probably worth it.

I use a Garmin watch and they have a nutrition feature if you upgrade to Connect Plus but I'm not sure if it has what I want.

Any other good apps out there?

Android phone. USA located.

Does the linen shrink a lot?

I just placed my first order and received part of it today. I got some linen pants for myself and a linen shirt for my boyfriend. The pants are very baggy and his shirt is comically large on him. We went by the size guide for his measurements though so I'm wondering if it will shrink a lot and then be ok? I don't want to wash anything before knowing more because I assume I can't return it once it's washed. But also not sure if we should exchange and size down if it WILL shrink a lot..

We also have another couple shirts on the way that haven't arrived yet. TIA

Does Mounjaro make anyone itchy?

I've been on Mounjaro a little over 2 months. I've noticed that for a while now, I've been kinda itchy on my neck and upper chest. At first I thought it was a new lotion I was using so I stopped using it but the itchiness continues. I can't say for certain that it started when I started Mounjaro but I just thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced something like this? TIA

Insurance question

So I was diagnosed with Type 2 after hovering in pre-diabetic for years. I tried to get my A1C down on my own and couldn't do it and also couldn't lose weight so my doctor put me on MJ. I'm 7 weeks in and lost 13 pounds. I'm also working with a dietician and she said that when we recheck my labs, we hope it's been making a metabolic difference. I, of course, want to be healthier but I also have about 90 more pounds to lose to be in my "ideal" weight according to charts. Really I don't feel the need to be THAT thin, I mostly want to be strong.

So my question,

How soon does A1C go down and the main question is IF I'm not in diabetic range anymore, but I have more weight to lose, will insurance stop covering it? Also do they check? Do they ask the doctor?

Sleep score for ADHD people

Sooo anyone else have ADHD and get info on your sleep score like "you slept enough but your sleep was non-restorative" ?? Yes, story of my entire life!

I've always had extremely vivid dreams, I can remember some going back to when I was 4 years old. I've only woken up feeling truly rested a handful of times in my life.

So yeah, thanks for reminding me!

I guess side quest, anyone with ADHD have a fix for this? Don't say melatonin or THC. Maybe magnesium but I have to see about it if I'm more consistent.

Started my 2nd month-upped dose

Hello! Background:

I was diagnosed with type 2 in January after my A1C had been creeping up slowly for years. There's a lot of diabetes in my family so I was very aware and trying to fight against it but it caught up with me. My weight also creeped up and the with some life circumstances, had gained more quickly.

So end of May, I started on 2.5mg. I felt pretty good on it and lost 5-6 pounds. I didn't have much gastro upset either. I eat a lot of fiber.

So the 2nd month I was raised to 5mg, I've had 2 doses. Wow, holy constipation and diarrhea, Batman!

I was absolutely sick and miserable for 2 days, nausea, first constipation and then diarrhea. Or loose watery stools. I had a colonoscopy a month or so before starting and it felt like I was going through the prep for that again. Very sudden, urgent trips to the bathroom.

My 2nd shot this month was a couple nights ago, I'm not AS miserable as I was last week but I'm having the urgent trips again. It's making it really hard to live my life or get things done. Also gross burps.

I am working with a dietician and last week she said ease off the fiber a bit because I do eat so much (30-40grams a day) and eat more easy to digest foods. I am wondering if I will normalize more quickly this week. This isn't really sustainable. I had questioned whether I needed to move up from 2.5 so quickly since I was losing weight.

Question about Lilly discount card

TL;DR: Lilly makes you sign away Hippa rights to get the discount card. Is it worth it?

I just started on MJ a month ago, 2.5 mg. It cost me $60 after insurance. My doctor refilled it at 5mg and the pharmacy said $210. I asked if that was because of the increased dose, they said no they just had you pay less last time and to contact my insurance. BTW, I have met my deductible for the year.

When I go on my online account and look up the drug at my pharmacy it's showing $108 not $210 for the same amount. I don't understand.

My insurance said maybe they applied a coupon for me the first time and informed me about the Lilly discount card. I went to look at signing up and it seems like they can use a lot of your personal information and it also asks you to sign something about HIPPA which seems like signing your rights away. But I also I can't really afford $210/month. $60 was ok.

Does anyone have experience with this? Is it shady to sign that? TIA

Just started 2.5

TL;DR Just started MJ, wanting advice on strength training and not having loose skin during weight loss. Also traveling internationally for 12 days in about 4 months. Also am I going to keep peeing so much? Like if my blood sugar goes down will the peeing lessen?

47F 5'2" 228. Just started 2.5mg MJ 3 nights ago. I had been pre-diabetic for years, there's a family history I've been trying to fight against, but had reached diabetic status at the beginning of the year.

Along with it, I had gained more weight in the last year suddenly and unexpectedly-I hadn't really changed anything about my diet but my birth control pill dose was reduced so that may have been a factor. I had not been able to get my weight down on my own, I'm at the heaviest I've ever been and finally took my doctor up on the offer to try medication. I also wonder if there could be an underlying condition causing my weight gain but my doctor has blown me off because my thyroid comes back normal. My last blood tests show a lot of inflammation also.

I was freaking out that it was going to hurt but then I didn't even feel it.

I was worried about constipation but the first day it was more like a stool softener. TMI but I go 3-5 times a day normally. I already eat 25-35 grams of fiber everyday. The 2nd day I didn't go at all. The morning of the 3rd day I went once so far.

I know everyone is different but I'm hoping I can get good results and feel better. Here are are things I'm hoping for:

-My knees to stop hurting, especially when taking stairs.

-Have more energy for activities, I used to play tennis and haven't been able to for years

-Have clothes fit better. My recent extra weight gain has made my favorite jeans not fit.

-Peeing less? One of my diabetes symptoms is peeing a lot all the time but the most annoying thing is at night, getting up 2-4 times a night and my sleep being interrupted. I'm wondering if my blood sugar goes down if this will stop.

-Weight in a healthy range. The chart puts this at 104-135 pounds. But I want to be STRONG more than skinny. When I was younger, I had a more physical job and had to lift things. I hate how weak I've become.

Does anyone have any tips for strength training on MJ?

I started taking creatine 5mg. I'm trying to be more consistent in it.

I'm focusing on protein too.

People talk about getting rid of "food noise" but so far I feel that extra because I'm thinking so much about what I should eat and how much and not wanting to feel sick. Does that go away when you get more settled?

I'm also worried about loose/extra skin and looking older. Is there any way to help with that? Not plastic surgery but helping along the way?

I'm going on a vacation in September, my first vacation in 10 years. I know there's going to be a lot of walking but also a lot of eating. Eating in different places is always a fun activity for me and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to enjoy it at all now. I know there will probably also be wine, we're going to an area with wineries. I'm not a big drinker but I like to be able to taste wines and have a glass. Is that going to be possible?

Of course I'm hoping it will be a better vacation overall if I'm feeling better about myself so I understand that could be the trade off.

Sleep question

Hello hello. I have just made the switch from Fitbit to a Venue 4 Garmin. I've been wearing it for about a week and I LOVE it. However...

I have not slept well since I got it. I've always struggled with sleep, but lately had been doing okay until the watch. At first I thought it was a high from the dopamine hit of a new toy but now I'm wondering if there is something specific about the watch that could be keeping me from getting a deep sleep? I really hope not because I love everything it does.

I have just been feeling slightly awake most the night or only short periods of deep sleep. My score has been 40-50, had a 60 one night.

Nothing else has really changed in the last week, I have been trying to figure out what other factors it could be but I'm really not sure.

I'm used to sleeping with a watch so it's not the physical sensation, I really barely notice I'm wearing it.

Any ideas?

I'm guessing you all get this question a lot so apologies in advance.

I'm shopping for new watches for myself (45F) and my partner (45M). We both had Fitbits until Gggl ruined them and then he tried a Pixel watch (worst ever) and I tried a Motorola (too simple and a little buggy).

Wants: all the basics, steps, heart rate, sleep data, etc. I also like being able to at least read texts, responding on the watch would be nice and see who is calling. I don't necessarily need to make calls but could go either way. I don't usually pay with my watch but I guess it would be fine.

I prefer a dainty kind of watch, but I'm kind of clumsy and might bang it on something so be pretty durable. He is fine with a bulkier watch. Water resistant would be good. I would prefer not to break the bank as well.

What should we get?
