A little pet peeve of mine

I know religious people mostly use it for community and comfort and whatever helps them sleep at night and all that

But whenever I hear a JW say: "Jehovah helped me with my speech" "Jehovah protected me in service" "Jehovah helped me today" makes me sick

Like, you really think the creator of the world, an omnipotent being, who can do anything, chooses to help a random woman with some dogs in the street but not a starving child in Nigeria or a woman who is now experiencing SA? Or what about war victims? Murders? What about those?

An Italian Koine

I know that before the 1940s in the US, ethnic boundaries were a lot stronger and a lot of groups held their heritage language longer.

Had this continued, would we have an Italian Koine in New Jersey based on Sicilian, Calabrian and Salentino?

Alt History conlanging

My fave type of conlang is alt history conlanging cuz I love history, sound changes and comparing how much my hypothetical conlang can be understood with actual descendants

Problem? Romance, Slavic and Germanic conlangs are too overdone but there are lack of resources for most other languages

Any ideas or suggestions?

Does anyone feel JW paradise is too boring?

Even if JW paradise was real and got given free entrance to it, I would still decline it

Like, they say that 'wordly' life is sad cuz you have no purpose, yet paradise is exactly that, cuz there you will have to find things to do, and after some centuries or millennia you are eventually gonna ran out of things to do

And they also say "but there are so much things in the world" but most people don't like them all, like, why would I want to try every single apple type or go to every desert? just not my cup of tea

Plus JW paradise is gonna be stripped of a lot of stuff, cuz they say there will be one language and everything remotely sinful or having to do with false religion will be destroyed, so no studying languages, anthropology, no churches, mosques, sight seeing, and most films, books and series will also be destroyed

And as a Mexican, there wouldn't be any paradise without birria and frijoles puercos
