Hope it started vs how it ended - Estate sale monitor

On the 4th of July there was an estate sale in the middle of a tiny town at this house from the 1920s and I found what looked to be a new or at least very good conditioned eMachines 15” crt monitor but I didn’t actually pull the monitor out I opened to make sure it was a monitor. They only charged a buck so I had to get it.

I went home to pull it out and turned it was a commodore 1902a computer monitor from the days of the commodore 128.

And it works perfectly! I hooked up my Super Nintendo and played some Zelda and Kirby.

A buck! $1… what a deal!

Got lucky at value village

Yesterday I was out driving my mom to the dentist and stopped at value village to look at media and I found the best collection of cds that I’ve seen in years. Then when i I was checking out the employee said “did you have the media coupon?”

I said no and she called another employee to apply a discount that was 30% of all media and books. So I saved over $45 on this haul of 90s and early 2000s rock and rap music. It’s almost exactly like the stuff I used to have or want but never had.

I could have easily picked another 30 cds of similar artists but this was already more than I needed. I have no room for the discs I already have.

Found a collection of copied cassette tapes at goodwill

Was at my local goodwill outlet and found this box of 40 tapes, mostly copied and a lot look to be from bootleg concert tapes. A few are real tapes like the smashing pumpkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers but no original case or inlay. Some interesting live ones that don’t look to have had any official release like Acid Green with I don’t know anything about but I don’t think these were actually recorded at concerts just copied from tapes that were.

I’m sure the quality isn’t the best but they charged $4 for the box.

Who was right?

I think the walkers (or rotters or biters or dead ones) are the walking dead but I guess Rick could see it differently.

My Jordan binder and a Sweet Hoops with Kobe

Going through one of my Jordan collections and thought I’d share. One of the cards in the binder was this 2005-06 NBA Hoops with him being defended by Kobe and I think it’s my favorite.

These are all cards I pulled since I started collecting in 1991. Yes I have a few multiples. I have boxes with even better cards including a 2005-06 Under Deck sweet shot acetate auto numbered to 25 which is by far my best card in my collection and one my dad pulled. No rookie cards though. That was before my time and above the amount I’ll spend.

Useful Birds of America - Baking Soda Cards

I found these cards at an estate sale for $5. There are 29 out of 30 cards from the First Series and 30 cards from the Third Series. Some are in pretty good condition but a lot have holes in them and discoloration or creasing.

They look pretty old. I saw some posts saying they may be from 1915 for the first series and 1922 for third series.
