Yama Cirriform or 7x9 Tarp with bug bivy

I want to upgrade (weight wise) from an Xmid. I'm honestly scared to try tarp camping i've read a lot of reviews and know it works but I just have like a fear I will get super wet during a storm. That's why the cirriform is so appealing to me since its fully enclosed and only around 12oz. So is the cirriform worth the extra money and extra weight or should I just get over my fears?

Rain Jacket Options?

I’ve been looking for an upgrade or just something a little more durable and comfortable than my Frogg Toggs. I hike in rain often and I need something that will work in all types of storms. I'm a Pretty small guy standing at about 5'7 and I'm pretty skinny so finding outwear that fits well is kind of hard. I have done a little bit of research on LHG rain jackets and Anti Gravity Gear rain jacket 2.0 they are similar in weight and both have pit zips which I think would be very nice. I want to spend 100-200 dollars on a pretty nice jacket. I also looked at the leve outdoor but the 10 week delivery time kind of killed it for me.

AGG Rain Jacket 2.0

  • Billed hood
  • S size 7.5oz
  • 70D Silnylon
  • $130
  • 17" inch pit

LHG Rain Jacket

  • Pockets
  • Billed hood
  • S size 6.9oz
  • $150
  • Velcro wrists
  • 20D Nylon

Would love some input on these two jackets and I'm open to other options! Thank you for the feedback in advance!

Teton Crest Trail & 4 Days in Glacier National

I recently made a similar post to this one but since then I have added stuff that was recommended to my LP and reweighed stuff. Here is some Info to help with the shakedown. base weight seems to be sitting at 10lbs. I would like to make up for the 32oz ish a bear can will add to my pack.

Trip:

Early-mid july
Teton crest trail(we can get permits)
then few days later 4 days in glacier national park
with 4 other guys

I'm willing to spend a good amount of money on upgrades I think maximum $800

I know I want to upgrade my shelter. I have been considering a used Tarptent Aeon Li. I am open to a tarp and a bug bivy (I live in the midwest where ticks and mosquitos are very bad) just dont know where to start and if that will work in the mountains.

I also need a bear can I was thinking a bv450.

I want to make upgrades to my layering system like an alpha 90 mid layer and drop the puffy.I would also like to get a windshirt and a nicer rain jacket.

I am open to anything else be harsh if you must. cant wait to read the responses!

I have an X-mid 1 and I want to upgrade to something a little lighter that also packs down smaller. I would like to stay away from tarp tents and bivys and stick with a trekking pole tent. I’m looking for a 3 season tent that’s less than 20 oz and I’m trying to keep my budget under 350 dollars but max i can spend is 500. I have looked at the zpacks hexamid and some others. I’m just worried about condensation because I live in indiana and it’s extremely humid here. do I have any other options for upgrades? do I need to be worried about single wall tents leaking on me in my sleeping because of the condensation?

Edit: I am completely open to a single wall tent J was mostly just asking if I need to worry about a single wall tent because of condensation!

My base weight is around 9.5lbs unless I bring my chair then its closer to 11lbs.

I normally Backpack in Indiana and surrounding states temps range from 50-85 degrees.

My budget is $200-400 but preferably $200.

I normally hike in groups of 2-6 including myself.

I'm planning a trip this summer to the Grand Tetons and Glacier National Park with 5 friends and I need a bear protection method.

I’m going to chicago Go Fest in a group of 4 or 5 and I had a few questions. I’m going Saturday with a city exploration ticket and Sunday as my main ticket day and I plan to buy the raid lover add on. I’m also bringing lots of water ,chemical ice pack, 2 20k mah power banks and snacks.

-How many raid passes should I stock up on between remote and premium?

-How many Pokeballs should I have?

-How many star pieces, lucky eggs and incenses should I have?

-How much storage do I need? I currently have 375 pokémon and 875 Item.

-Is an Airbnb that’s 30 minutes from grant park okay?

-Am I missing any in game preparations please let me know!

Please feel free to share any other tips!
