Anyone Got Youtube Video Links Showing 25-26 Forester Off Road Capability?

While chilling in the evening, I like to watch personal special interest Youtube videos.

I own a 2026 Forester Hybrid and long for videos of ppl taking that (or the '25) car or the petrol version off road. I search and see the regular USA sponsored videos, but that's it.

My plan is to take it out camping into some not too remote areas. Yes, I have the knowledge and equipment to do so and have decades of wilderness hiking camping experience and won't go alone.

Currently I have a stock standard car, but can afford regular mods and when required will get some AT tyres.

Anyone care to share their leads on some good Youtubers that might accommodate my choice?

PSA: Eyesight Recall to be Announced for 2026 Subaru Forester Australia

Hi all,

I bought my ’26 FTH about 8 months ago and almost immediately after leaving the dealership I started having issues with Eyesight and Auto Cruise Control. Literally within 50m of driving away, the system started making phantom speed adjustments.

The car would randomly read speed limits where there is no signage as 135km/h (in a 50 zone!), or the navigation/ACC would react to phantom speed signs and suddenly brake from 110km/h down to 80 or even 60. It was honestly pretty terrifying at times.

Over the last 5 months I’ve barely used many of the automatic driving features because I just didn’t trust them.

I raised the issue twice with the dealer plus again at the initial service, but each time it was basically dismissed or denied. I nearly snapped my neck when a tech said "It's new, we really don't know much about this car yet". lol.

Last week I called the dealer to ask if there were any recalls and they said there was an Eyesight recall that came out a few weeks ago involving a recalibration plus an updated manual (haven’t read the new manual yet). Today it went in and they did the reprogramming and checked a couple of other issues which once again they said were normal - future recalls? Thus far, they have only been doing the recall service on cars that are booked for a service and have not sent letters out to owners.

Today I drove about 180km and used ACC and Eyesight extensively and for the first time there were zero issues. I still want to properly test it on the freeway where it previously had the most problems, but so far it seems like the recall/recalibration may actually have fixed it.

Pretty relieved to finally have the car behaving the way it’s supposed to.

AITA: "We Are Partial to Fish and Spicey Foods"

I love hosting family gatherings.

We regularly host family lunches at our home and I’m the main cook. I usually accommodate everyone’s preferences including dietary options and food preferences. I normally cook two mains or one meal everyone can eat, plus salads and roast veg. People genuinely seem to enjoy it — plates are clean and many ask for take-home containers.

Recently, some extended family members who had just moved to our country were invited over so they’d feel welcomed and included. Both seemed lovely people. Mrs Guest works in education.

Weeks beforehand, I texted Mrs Guest asking about allergies or food preferences so I could accommodate their family. The core part of the reply was: “we are partial to fish and spicy foods.” I reread that message several times over the following weeks.

The day before lunch I drove to three different stores trying to find the best fresh wild-caught salmon fillets possible. It took hours and the ingredients cost a small fortune. I also prepared snacks, entree, roast vegetables, salads and other dishes from scratch. I genuinely enjoy cooking.

On the day, everyone arrived, had drinks, snacks and finger food, and settled in comfortably. While cooking in the open-plan kitchen, I asked Mr & Mrs Guest whether they preferred the salmon skin on or off. Mrs Guest confidently replied, “however you have it”, so I left it on because that’s what most others preferred.

About 5-10min later, Mrs Guest came into the kitchen looking stern, pointed at various things making comments, then pointed at the stove and said, “and that’s still on,” before walking away. I had literally just turned that burner on and was left thinking, WTF? I'm wondering if she thinks I am just a bloke cooking rather than a bloke that can cook.

Dinner was served and everyone appeared to enjoy it. Then Mr Guest said, “we normally don’t eat salmon, but this is really good.” Mrs Guest looked sideways at me and said, “we don’t eat fish.” Mr Guest then mentioned another fish meal they’d previously enjoyed at a friend’s house, almost like he was trying to smooth things over.

I apologised and said I genuinely didn’t know. The text message came to mind again and I was distressed and confused. I said "What? You could have had steak instead, as we have Scotch fillet in the freezer". I wasn't at all angry.

They ate all the salmon.

I told and showed my wife their message and family members talked to them. I never heard anything about that or from them. I still feel bad about the whole situation now ... some three years later.

After that, we didn’t hear from them for many months. The next time I saw Mrs Guest in person, I asked if they’d like to come for dinner again. She stared straight ahead, avoided eye contact, slowly shook her head with a disapproving expression, and said nothing.

If you haven't worked it out yet. She meant to type “we are not partial to fish and spicy foods.”

So, AITA? I feel like one. But shouldn't.

Living in a very sunny country, we are very concerned about sun exposure so as to later not develop skin cancers or premature aging of the skin.

Is anyone aware or what, if any SPF rating the sun/moon roof has?

OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200
Processor AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor, 4001 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 24 Logical Processor(s)
BaseBoard Product ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 64.0 GB
GPU 3080Ti with latest Studio Driver

Hoping to get some assistance here.

After a stage photography gig last night, I’m now sitting on about 1500 images to get through. It pushed me to finally look into why my setup has been struggling.

For a while now, Adobe Lightroom Classic just hasn’t been running like it used to. Editing feels sluggish, and once I get into Develop—especially with masks—it really starts to grind.

What’s frustrating is that it used to run smoothly on this same machine. Something has clearly changed, and I’m trying to figure out what.

In the Adobe Lightroom Classic System Info, I’m seeing GPUDeviceEnabled: false, which (as I understand it) means Lightroom isn’t actually using my 3080 Ti.

What’s confusing is that:

In Lightroom Preferences → Performance, “Use Graphics Processor” is set to Custom, and it reports “Full graphics acceleration is enabled”
In the NVIDIA app, Lightroom is also set to use the GPU

So the UI says it’s enabled, but the System Info suggests it isn’t.

Troubleshooting so far:
Reset Lightroom config by renaming both:
AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom
AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom
Used Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove NVIDIA drivers, then reinstalled Studio drivers only
Reinstalled Lightroom Classic
Catalog is on C: (not in OneDrive)

Despite all that, GPUDeviceEnabled is still false and performance is poor.

Is there any good and realistic advice on fixing this if it is fixable?

I'm about 41 weeks out from not working and have regular plans for each week after retiring but thinking is there something special I ought to do with my first couple of weeks of not working ever again.

For starters, I'm planning on significantly improving my fitness and strength. I'm in not too bad shape already, but would like to do more outdoor activities and overall improve fitness for the next couple of decades.

What was yours?

Sadly, this adds to me being less likely to want to be a Good Samaritan when I see an incident.

Imagine creating a burning blockade to hijack a car and it's occupants in WA.

Who the heck would do that?
