Fundraising event spaces?

A nonprofit I am part of usually does a charity bingo night at Black Sheep pub, but they are permanently closing so we need a new option. It was great because they took care of everything we just had to supply the prizes.

Does anyone know of a similar opportunity here in Tampa? Ideally a place that already runs a bingo type event regularly. Or a venue that would allow us to run something like this?

Affordable compression leggings review

Thought I'd share a lil review of my favorite bargain(ish) POTS leggings since I know compression is a frequent topic and buying tons of compression gear adds up 💸💸

I've often thought about ordering the supacore or jelliebend leggings, but the price is really off putting for something that has mixed reviews. I stumbled on korform leggings since they advertised high waisted compression including abdominal compression so I gave them a try while I caught them on a 50% off sale.

I love them! They stay up perfectly and do actually offer decent compression. They don't have a pocket which sucks, but they are not sheer, compress from ankles to abdomen, and are breathable enough that I can wear them in Florida summer.

I also have the shorts and love that they don't roll up my thunder thighs, but I do find them less compressive/looser than the leggings and may size down this time.

Full disclosure: the compression is not quite as good as my daily combo of knee high compression socks + skims high waisted above the knee compression shorts, but they are good enough that I can wear them when I'm running around on non-work days and don't want so many layers. They are also tough to get on, but with lots of patience and gradual inching them up (I lay down on my bed with my legs in the air and take my time!), they stay in place and are easy to pull back up after the bathroom, even when I'm dealing with the summer sweat lol

I'm about to buy a few more pairs because I line dry them and hate doing laundry, and noticed they're 50% off right now ($40 US).

(I am not affiliated with this company or giving this review for any other reason than wanting to share a more affordable option that I rarely see mentioned in compression gear discussions.)

When do I remind my husband it's my birthday?

UPDATE!!!

He did not forget, it was a fake out!!! He picked up dinner on the way home, and complimented my "birthday outfit" (because as suggested, I put on my birthday crown!). I pointed out that he hadn't actually wished me happy birthday yet, and he said he knew and wanted to say it with dinner (this is a very him thing to think and say 😅). And don't worry, I did still insist it needs to be said!

So, yeah, happy to bring you today's happy ending. Thanks for all the advice and support, and ideas for how to prevent any future birthday misunderstandings!

So, today is my birthday. Usually I get excited, but this year has been a lot and today I just feel like it's another day but I can be a little extra lazy and lenient with myself lol

My husband has not yet wished me a happy birthday or mentioned anything about it. He also has ADHD. He knew my bday was coming up and we had chatted about it because his mom asked what to get me. I think it just didn't click that today was the day. I am not at all hurt by this, as I regularly do the same thing with my parents and sister which is why I set reminders in my calendar around 9am to send them birthday wishes or I'll forget 😅

My question is, how long do I let this go on? I think it's kinda funny and am curious how long it will take or if he remembers at all. My fear is that if I say nothing, he will end up feeling very bad about it. There's also the chance he's just faking me out because that is also something he would do.

So...what would you do? Drop a little casual hint like how I'm going to tropical smoothie to get my free birthday smoothie? Just point it out, like hey don't forget it's my birthday? Wait and see where this goes?

(Also, I know folks on reddit can be quick to jump in with relationship judgments. I cannot stress enough how wonderful my husband is and how solid our relationship is. This is purely an ADHD partnership moment 😂)

Share your favorite drills!

I get super bored and struggle to swim long distances of a single stroke. I tend to switch it up every hundred or two, and love doing drills since I find them more entertaining and like the extra skill boost that focuses my attention.

So what are your favorite drills? My favorite is the shark, and I do a lot of side kicks, one arm pulls, and butterfly drills (my fav is a sculling drill where I do butterfly kick but do a scull pull instead of the regular butterfly pull, or I'll do one arm butterfly).

For context, I swim in a smaller community pool and rarely have to share a lane, so I can get as wild as I want with the drills lol

But I need more ideas! I'd love to hear y'all's favorites!

Morning sun bath

Quigley starts every day with a sun bath, watching the birds and the turtles. She is a perfect queen.

So tired and everything hurts, but gotta adult

I had a 13 hour day at work yesterday for a huge event, lots of on my feet and up and down, no time to hydrate or stay on top of med timing, and barely anything to eat because I didn't plan ahead enough to bring something substantial with me (lots of food allergies so can't eat what's provided at events like that).

Today I am so exhausted and so in pain, and just so worn out I want to cry. I've been sitting in my car in the parking lot because it's hot and humid and they closed my entrance to the building for construction and now I have to walk all the way around. I'm dreading the walk in, let alone the work day.

All this to say, I hate this, and I hate having to suck it up and work.

Sending my love to those (sinking) in the same boat.

Does anyone else periodically second guess everything and feel like they should go off all their meds because "I probably never needed them anyway" and "I just have to be good about managing diet and fluids and exercise?"

I know I'm privileged to have a diagnosis and be prescribed meds. And obviously I'm feeling well enough that I'm questioning the need for meds, so that's great.

But I can't shake this feeling that I was misdiagnosed and all these meds are just making me sicker and if I went off them I'd feel better. I've been diagnosed with OH (another doc says POTS, I personally just call it dysautonomia because things fluctuate), and am on blood pressure meds. Lately all my readings at doctor offices have been high, to the point I'm wondering if the blood pressure meds are making me worse and causing a new problem and if I just quit taking them I'd be fine.

Before you suggest it, yes I have asked my doctor about it. No, he was not concerned.

In the past I've come off some meds to test the "I'm actually fine and don't need these" theory and I did feel worse, so logically I should accept I need the meds and move on.

Please, someone else chime in and tell me this is part of the process? Talk me out of it? Share your doubts and how you work through them?

To be clear, I'm not advocating anyone (including myself) do this.
