Uber or taxis in Sequim?

Hello, I'm not from the area, but my partner visits the area for business trips a few times a year and I'd like to join him on the next one.

I don't want to bring two cars nor do I want to stay at the hotel all day. I'm thinking that my partner could either drop me off downtown if there is enough to do or I could take an Uber or taxi.

What would be the most convenient option in your opinion?

Thanks :)

Protests? Ways to become politically active?

I was too shy to attend others, but I want to start now. I'm also looking into climate activism if such a thing exists here.

Any respiratory illnesses going around?

I was congested for a few days and had no sore throat and no body aches, so I assumed that I was struggling with allergies or effects from the wildfire smoke. Last night, I suddenly developed a low grade fever that has persisted into today. I stayed home.

I will test for covid tomorrow.

Is anyone else sick? I hadn't heard of anyone I knew being sick until earlier in the day yesterday before I had a fever. It was very sudden.

If Burke didn't do it, he likely feels terrified and guilty

I think it's possible that BDI.

I believe the accounts involving the golf club and him molesting her. Sibling SA is very common.

However, even with that in mind, if one or both of his parents did it, then he could have heard them hurting her.

It might have "scared him straight." Maybe he had aggression issues because he saw his parents doing the same things to his sister. We never heard about him getting into trouble ever again.

He might have heard them killing her, realized what they were capable of, and turned into a shut in out of trauma and fear.

I'm having trouble being in my apartment since the breakup almost 9 months ago

Advice if anyone has it, please.

Added background context: I have lived in my place since October 2022. It's not super fancy. It also took me a while to relax in it because of childhood trauma I have that made it hard to relax at home. I felt better there starting in late 2023 or so. I went through a bad avoidant breakup in January 2025 that happened over the phone, but despite how painful it was, that breakup didn't affect how I felt about my place because I spent most of my time with him over at his apartment.

The breakup that haunts my place: On a whim, I went on a date with a seemingly sweet, sensitive guy in February 2025. It felt magical and almost too good to be true until October 25th, 2025 when he broke up with me on my couch with no prior warning. He had given me almost no indication that he was unhappy...not even a cowardly slow fade like the guy before him. He was a bit irritable the week before, but that was the only thing I noticed. I didn't even know for sure that it was a breakup at first. I thought we were just having a slightly heated conversation. Not only was it sudden, but when it was clear that this wasn't a repair conversation, I went into shock. I blurted out, "Um. Well, I loved you." He scoffed and said, "Well, I never hated you." I said, almost in a whisper, "That's what you're gonna say to that?" And he again laughed and said, "Well, I'd be lying if I said I ever loved you." I went silent for several seconds. I then got up from the couch, grabbed my purse, and told him that we were leaving. I ran out of the apartment. He followed behind me and then as he was leaving, I blurted out, "Goodbye, I loved you, (name)."

I met my now boyfriend in April. We had been talking since March. I can tell that he's not avoidant and I'm unfortunately pretty good at seeing what avoidants are like now after experiencing two of them in a row. My boyfriend and I have a good emotional connection and I didn't have that with the avoidants. They would talk with me, of course, but it felt like it could only ever go so far with them.

Even so, it's still hard to be in my apartment. I have rearranged things in it, but my mind still relives that trauma. I'm in therapy, but I haven't felt relief yet.

Were any of you dumped at home? How did you feel comfortable and safe there again?

A snapshot of what it was like to date an avoidant

Did anyone else feel like you were some kind of test run or experiment rather than an actual person to them?

I dated an avoidant man from October 2022 to January 2025. He ended it by suddenly not talking to me for 4-5 days and only telling me that he wanted to end it when I called him and asked him to just tell me whether or not we were done.

Things were good up until some point in 2024. By the time we'd been together for 2 years, something felt off, but it wasn't super obvious and he seemed like the type that would tell me something if he wasn't happy. I don't know why I ignored my concerns instead of voicing them. It seems unlike me.

I don't blame myself for how he left me. I do wish I had at least tried to ask him certain things instead of just assuming that everything was fine. At one point, I did ask if we were okay, and he acted annoyed at me for even asking, so I stopped asking. He also started getting more irritable in general and he criticized my apartment for being messy and told me that a hair clip I was wearing was "strange."

Looking back, I feel like I was a trial run at having a girlfriend. I loved him, but I don't think he loved me. He kept talking about getting a house and then moving me in after a few months and I figured that I would ask about it once I was preparing to move in. But looking back, I never met his family (only his friends), and he never said he loved me. I expressed worry about that to my former therapist and she said it wasn't necessarily a red flag, but I didn't like it at all.

I started losing interest about 2 months before he did what he did, but it was a response to irritability and a lack of warmth on his part, not because I lost feelings. I started feeling bored and like he didn't care anymore but he had insisted that he was stressed about work. I started wanting to try something with others, but I thought that maybe I was bored and I told myself to stay with him because it was the right thing to do since we'd been together for so long.

I'm still surprised that I just quietly accepted things as they were. But when he left me, I was like, wow, fuck him. I'll find someone who wants an actual companion and not the idea of a girlfriend.

The person I dated after that ended up being an avoidant, too, and he also abruptly left me with no warning of what he was about to do.

I hope it works out with the guy I'm with now. He and I have discussed long-term goals and we are both open and honest. I always felt like those other guys were hiding a lot about their feelings and intentions.

If you're a woman, don't go to Best Med Urgent Care in Richland

I went there not long ago due to vulval itching, burning, and a visible red rash.

Basically, the elderly male doctor on staff refused to actually give me a physical exam "because I haven't touched a speculum in 25 years and I'm not about to again."

He just gave me a prescription for a yeast infection without even looking at the area and without definitively saying that's what it was. And while they did have me give a urine sample, I had to insist on a swab for BV and yeast that I then did myself.

I have had yeast, BV, and a UTI before, and this seems like some kind of rash that might be due to pads I was using for my period a few days ago, but I can't be sure because I'm not a doctor.

They seemed to completely blow me off both because of my anatomy and because I said I had a gynecologist appointment next week. I guess my suffering over the next several days doesn't matter to them.

I have now had several urgent cares, the Kadlec on Clearwater being another one of them, that won't actually consistently look at my vaginal area before diagnosing things. If you are a woman with some kind of vaginal issue, and you can't get into your gynecologist or primary for a while, make sure to call ahead to the urgent care to find out if the doctor will actually look at the area instead of just ordering a urine sample. I can't believe that I also had to insist on a swab for yeast and BV.

I can't imagine any doctor telling a man that they won't look at his penis if he goes into an urgent care and tells them it has a rash. At least I got them to test for three things, but I had to insist on two of the tests.

Medical care here is such a fucking joke, especially for a woman. It's still the fucking dark ages in 2026 where you have to call around to find a doctor who is willing to look at a rash on a vulva.
