Does bush regeneration help?

I know it’s not really directly linked to climate change but does maintaining ecosystems help at all or are they kinda doomed because of the climate? I want to try volunteer for a bush care group

Is 10k steps a day actually healthy?

Back when I used to walk around ~10k steps a day regularly i ended up developing knee and foot pain. I went to the doctor and basically his conclusion was I was overdoing it and should take it easy for a bit, but 10k is the amount you’re “supposed” to get so I don’t rly get why I got pain, I’m 22 for the record

edit: i should mention i’ve had issues with wearing down my shoes unevenly in the past, but when i told the doctor this he said it was nothing to be worried about so i left it be

Why doesn’t anyone wanna talk?

I feel more and more depressed in today’s world, I feel like I’m forced to put on a smile and pretend everything is ok,to always talk about “fun” topics … But it’s getting harder and harder to keep up this facade , it makes me wonder what is the point of friendship if I have to keep all my troubles locked inside..
I think .. the first step of fixing something is to start talking about it. And yk, the very few times I try to vent abt something i’m worried about, everyone is quick to change the topic. And even if you don’t find a fix, it’s nice to just, truly say what we are feeling instead of locking it all up.

Maybe most people truly don’t feel as worried as I do..? I envy them if so..

I don’t even know how to cope. If we could talk about it , maybe we could find something together but no one wants to..

I h8 being pitied

I just wanna vent cause this has been on my mind for a while, I can NEVER talk or even mention my disease, because the few times I’ve done it i get instant sad dog puppy eyes. It’s especially annoying when ur in remission and your life is fine actually but they act like you’re some poor unfortunate cursed soul, even my family keeps saying “don’t worry, i’m sure they’ll find a cure soon” as if it’s terminal. And 1. I am not worried because thank god by pure coincidence an organ transplant medicine and a malaria drug happen to be REALLY good at making the immune system take a chill pill too.

I mean, Id like to at least *mention* it a bit without people panicking cause you know even though I am in remission taking medicine, getting blood tests, kidney function etc it’s all a part of my life, and I’d like to at least educate ppl about it cause I have the science background too to actually explain it but it feels like I have to keep everything locked in a vault..😓 Idk, This is maybe quite trivial to vent about but I just wanna type my thoughts out 🫠

How do people find biology easy lol

The common sentiment is biology is the “easiest” science
but I haven’t found that true at all. I’m literally getting cooked alive rn by biochemistry and microbiology 😭😭🫩 ESPECIALLY biochemistry. That subject makes no god damn sense istg. I have no idea how people study it🫩

studying biochemistry, microbiology and virology in the same semester is making me lose it

Guys, how is this even humanely possible. It’s so information dense, and I failed my assignment so now I have to get EXTRA good marks. It took me literally 7 hours yesterday to go through about 3 weeks of content. I feel like I’m gonna lose it. How tf am I supposed to remember a million different proteins and pathogens ALL AT ONCE. This is insane.😭 My finals are in 5 days and I haven’t even started studying for virology yet.

Really struggling with final year courses.

I’m really struggling with my final year courses. In previous years youtube was a great help because there was many videos that broke down complex topics. Now the topics are increasingly niche, and I am at loss, just staring at lecture slides, and we are provided no practice questions so I try to come up with my own but I’m not very good at it. Does anyone have any advice? I feel like I’ve just been staring at screens and getting nowhere.

Feeling like pure shit

3rd year courses are too hard for me. I kind of managed to cruise along in my 2nd year but 3rd year courses have actually been CRAZY for me. I feel like I got so much stupider and I am genuinely struggling and scared I won’t be able to finish uni🫩..

Apparently I was slouching when I walked and I didn’t even realise it

Omg it’s so crazy, thankfully my room mate alerted me 😭 Everything makes soo much sense now, why no one seems to approach me, why job interviews never seem to work out, and why I have upper back pain all the time at 22. I legit thought it was cause I was getting older. I can’t believe I never realised until now. Pls tell me I’m not the only one with this experience lmao

Mycophenolic acid for life?

I have LN and have been on this med for ~6 yrs. I am not sure if It will be ever safe for me to get off it but my doctor does want me off it eventually. Has anyone had experience with taking it for life and can confirm it’s safe? I’d rather keep taking the med personally to not risk flares

Considering bioinformatics

I have basically no background in coding. I tried it a few times and I didn’t really enjoy it. That being said, being in my final year of a microbiology major I realised how important bioinformatics really is in being able to get good data and interpret it.
I’m thinking of getting further education in bioinformatics, but the main thing i’m concerned about is whether it’s right for me, considering I don’t really enjoy coding and am not very good at maths. But maybe I will enjoy it in the context of micro?

Is this at risk of being taken over by ai?

Apologies if this is an ignorant question, I am an undergrad and wanting to learn more about this career. So far it is my goal to enter this career either in clinical microbiology or biochemistry and I plan on doing a masters. However I am a bit worried it will be automated and there won’t be much entry lvl positions left, as I plan on working as a lab tech to gain experience before I do a masters. Could anyone offer insight?

Should I get on jobseeker when I drop to part time study

In my last semester of uni I will only have one more course to do in order to graduate so I won’t be able to continue youth allowance. Now Ive been trying to get a job well before but since I’m full time now it’s been difficult to find work, worst case scenario if I don’t find work before that semester would I apply to jobseeker, is that a good reason for applying to it?I am not living with my parents so I would have to pay rent ..

I’ve always been curious about this, like what if someone eats little/no vegetables but mainly gets their fiber from grains? Is that still healthy? What if someone doesn’t eat fruit but does eat nuts instead?
