Oil pressure light? New driver and owner what to look for? Please help as im clueless and parents are helpless.

Car details: 2009 320i LCI M package.

Hey! Im a new owner to this car. I've had it, and my driving license. for 3 weeks now. It drives great, and it's been the perfect first car for me.

I have 3 issues with the car, and to no ones surprise, it's all oil related.

I have a slight leak towards the back of the rocker cover that spills oil onto the manifold, but it's a tiny seep. The oil filter housing, however, seems to be quite a bit of oil. it's throwing it backwards towards the bulk of the engine. I'll try to show it properly in the images and label them below.

Lastly, im getting what i think is an oil pressure light. However, it seems only when im doing motorway speeds, at about 60 or so, mph it pops up and stays up. I dont know what it could be, but it clears when the car is restarted and comes back. I've done 300 miles on it since I bought the car, and everything seems fine, but I dont want to wreck this unit.

As mentioned its my first car and I have no idea about what sounds normal and what sounds odd or out of place, I love everything cars and have done since I was younger but my parents never supported me in it or had chances to go to events etc as they thought of it as hooner activity and now im inquiring about the engine with them and they dont even know and keep blowing me off as everything is okay.

Photo 1 is near the back of the rocker cover,

Photo 2 is the oil filter housing towards the front of the car

Photo 3 4 and 5 are the oil filter towards the back of the engine with where most of the puddle seems to have formed.

Photo 6 is the oil light I keep getting its not mine got this one from google but I have the exact the symbole in a red colour toi and it does say the oil level is in the middle and says OK.

Is my cars launch normal or underpowered?

Edit: I should mention this is a 320i 2009, comes with the 170hp engine i forgot its engine name, n43? I think its called?

I posted about this car a few days ago when I first bought it, and the launch is incredibly annoying / slow / unpowerfull.

I really dont know if im using the right words, but coming from a desil with alot of down low torque it felt really underpowered, and I thought its normal, but the more I drive it im beginning to genuinely think something is actually wrong.

When I move off even from flat I have to rev it to about 2k / 2.5k with yhe wheels straight and hold tje clutch at the bite point fot like 2 or so seconds and release slowly or else the car will jerk / kick you forward. If my wheels are turned at all it needs even more.

The pedal also feels super unlinear its either at 1.5k rpm or 4k. I dont know if its genuinely just a skill issue or not but I drove 1.2L and even some 1L petrol *although newer and lighter hatchbacks* and tje launch never stressed me out this much.

And that doesnt even get me started on hill starts, especially on hill starts I genuinely get really anxious and living in the uk we have LOADS of hills. Im trying to do a handbrake launch but I feel like im still slipping the clutch a little at about 4k rpm. I dont smell a clutch smell per say just it doesnt feel like its healthy for the engine or clutch.

The only issue I have based on my code reads is a lambda sensor number 2. But its been off this whole time since I got the codes first cleared and didnt come back for the whole week in bumper traffic. But as soon as I put the car in 5th gear and was accelerating from 40 to 70, the yellow engine light came back, but from what I can find this should effect the launch of the car. :(

Dream First Car

Rear bumper is dented, one of the front grills is broke. Otherwise the paint and interior are perfect. Couldn't dream of anythint better for a first car!

Only issue i currently have is hill starts as all my prior driving experiance and even test was done all on desil, which can pull away on clutch and tiny bit of throttle. Practising the hand break technique. Dont have it fully nailed but hopefully it'll get better over the next few weeks because I have a trip to.a very hilly place *in wales too*

[Audi RS6 GT] 1 in 60 for the uk 660 made globally overall.

If i knew how special this was at the time of taking this photo I would of taken more angles like the center console number. However after some online research I belive this is number 640. Found randomly in a parking lot.

Spotted a mystery car in Liverpool today and it's been driving me mad ever since. (photo of closest match but please read post!)

Not My Photo

No photo unfortunately (bad timing, messy hands) but both myself and my wife saw it independently at different points in the same day, slow speed, good look at it both times. We both agree on the details.

Here's what we saw:

- Low to the ground, sports car ride height

- Long sharp wedge nose, very C3 Corvette-esque in profile

- 4 doors

- White

- Looked like a 70s/80s era car

- No obvious grille that we could make out

- Pop-up headlights possible but not certain

The shape immediately read as C3 Corvette to me until I counted the doors. I know about the Corvette American (the California Custom Coach 4-door C3 from 1980, also the one i attached in the post) and the shape fits almost perfectly, but I can't imagine one of those showing up in Liverpool.

Could be a kit car, could be a coachbuilt one-off, could be something I've never heard of. UK-based so something that exists or was imported here.

Anyone have any idea what this thing was?

v0.39 feels less like a content delay and more like a technical overhaul

Unrelated vulkan photo ;)

I think the delay for v0.39 is way bigger than “they just need more time for a car.”

The devs already said:

>

That’s not normal BeamNG wording for a standard update cycle.

My theory with some friends is that they were originally much closer to release than they expected, but something major inside the engine forced them to pivot.

A few reasons why I think that:

  • They already showed detailed previews of a new vehicle.
  • They hinted at features and visual changes pretty confidently.
  • Even with “updates becoming more scarce,” this is still unusually long for BeamNG.
  • The devs specifically mentioned not wanting to “leave everyone hanging,” which makes it sound like they know the wait is abnormal too.

So what could actually be happening?

My guess is some kind of larger engine-level overhaul:

  • Vulkan improvements/stability work
  • rendering or shadow system changes
  • VR performance work
  • backend systems being rewritten
  • possibly bundling what would’ve been two updates into one larger release

A lot of people have mentioned Vulkan issues, flashing, shadow performance, and general instability across different hardware configs. If they’re trying to properly stabilize that across thousands of PC setups, that could absolutely delay everything else.

One friend even joked that they might be waiting for BeamMP to become fully operational again before dropping the update. I doubt that’s the real reason, but it would explain why they’re being unusually careful with timing.

Honestly though, the “months away” comment makes me think this isn’t just content delay anymore it feels technical.

Could be completely wrong, but that’s my conspiracy theory for why v0.39 is taking so long.

Scotland

Saw this yesterday in liverpool, there was 2 old stagecoach busses, too, which looked like the early 2000s almost.

Also, do you also have any idea why it could be barbed up with metal? Instead of say curtains if its for privacy reasons.
