Vacation pay

I noticed that on my slip that I have some remaining from the prior year and it’s really just been sitting there, and I’m curious if anyone has asked for the money to be added on top of your payday amount since apparently we could do that even as PT workers (according to provincial government info at least) and if so, how did you ask your manager/owner/SA?

$95 CAD - Will repay $110 CAD by July 17th - Canada - Interac E-transfer preferred - getting my account out of the red for the week ASAP

I have posted about this before, but now I really do need the help. I’m just putting the same reason for my request. My work has been cutting hours and shifts lately and I’m in temporary debt. I’ve been paying off bills nearing the end of the month which caused my account to be in the red. I just need a little bit for the week to get out of the red on my account and extra for my groceries, please. I will be able to pay back $110 CAD by the 17th of July!

I’ve asked for loans before, but have received no luck and have been scammed by multiple “lenders”, hence my history of asking before and no help received.

My work has been cutting hours and shifts lately and I’m in temporary debt. I’ve been paying off bills nearing the end of the month which caused my account to be in the red. My payday is coming up but I would need just a little bit more extra money for the week for my groceries, please.

I’ve asked for loans before, but have received no luck and have been scammed by multiple “lenders”, hence my history of asking before and no help received.

[REQ] $150 CAD - Repay $175 CAD by July 3rd - AB, Canada - E-transfer preferred, but open to PayPal - behind on a couple bills

My current work had recently cut down our hours which caused me to reduce my budgeting even more, so I’m slightly behind on my credit card payment and health insurance payment as well. I can pay the first half of my repayment promise on my next paycheque and the next half after!

Had a great first date, but now he’s not replying to my post-date text

I, (31F) went on a wonderful date with a guy (33M) I met on hinge. He took me to see one of those candlelight concerts of a cover of an artist I like (he bought the tickets) and beforehand we had dinner together and couldn’t stop talking and getting to know each other (he paid for dinner). Before the first date, we had been daily texting for just over a month, so it was normal for us to text every day.

So going back to the date, he had walked me to the nearest train station and made sure I got on the train before he went home. I then later texted him as soon as I got home that I had fun on the date and getting to know more of him in person and if he’s up for it, I would like to schedule a second date…

…and now it’s been almost two days and no response. He also has read receipts on and I’m still stuck on “delivered”. Should I text him once more or continue to wait for him to response? And also if he is indeed now ghosting me, should I send one more text or just leave it to rest? Any advice will be helpful, thank you!

Hi everyone, yes it’s me again with another scammer alert except this time I didn’t fall for it (lesson learned from my previous post lol)

u/Lanky_Run7333 or “Max” is a definite scammer and will message you on iMessage under the email dusiudakdjyd@gmail.com, as well as his “company’s account officer” under a phone number.

He’d be nice at first, trying to convince you that many people have done him wrong and will try to gain your trust. He would claim to have more than what you need and will offer an extra $100 or whatever to help you out, so long as you send him back the remainder of the money. At first I thought about asking for his PayPal, then he claims he can’t use PayPal so he’s asking his company’s account officer to help out (bro what?) then says you can pay him back through Apple gift cards.

I have worked retail before and already know this guy was a big red flag simply for asking. I insisted no then he showed me screenshots of alleged borrowers he’s had that it had worked. Still said no.

After a while, he then claims he has a cheque ready for me. I then tell him I don’t trust any cheques since they usually are either fake or they bounce and he tells me that if I provide him with my bank log in, it’ll work. The red flag is burning red and causing flames to erupt at this point. So I said absolutely not and then convinces me that his account officer will contact me. The other guy texts me and I demanded the money “Max” said he would give me, no more no less and told me that “Max” himself will finally send it over.

I texted “Max” once more, demanding my money at this point or I’ll ignore him, then he says I had to send over $70 first for him to send the money. What? That is not how loans or borrowing work, and I said that to him and that’s when he became aggressive, calling me untrustworthy and other names before eventually blocking and reporting him.

So yeah, big heads up to everyone!

Hi everyone, I had just recently posted here about needing a loan and like possibly most of users on here, I’m a first timer on this subreddit.

I just want to shout out u/aggressive-let-114 as a scammer. I don’t think I’m the first one to post about them, but I hope to be the last.

I asked them about my loan and exchanged PayPal info. Unfortunately there were two batches of payment they had sent me, and they had claimed to be for their sister. Then they proceeded to instruct me to quickly use Remitly to send it over to her as a “trustworthy” act. Hindsight, I definitely should have seen this as a red flag but I was in desperate need for help. I thought I had been in the clear about it until someone that had sent me an amount (the user claimed it was them so I had shrugged it off) contacted me on PayPal and had claimed a case against me. Panicked, I immediately refunded the person who was also scammed by the same redditor, as well as apologizing and explaining my situation. He understood and has luckily closed the case, but I’m still out $200 because of that redditor.

Just a big heads up to many newbie users in the subreddit!

I (31, F) am about to graduate with two degrees. It took me longer than expected but I’m actually finally graduating.

I took a few years off after high school to save money for university, hence me being late to the game. It took me 6 years to do the first degree, and just about 3 years to do the second degree. Throughout my journey, I went through more financial hardship, mental health struggles, and physical health and stress outside of university that did prolong my normal 4 year course to 6. Because of that, I’ve associated my university experience with my negative ones that I don’t want to share more of and think about again. My entire family knew the stuff that I went through during these years and have been nothing but supportive and helpful.

I was lined up to attend my ceremony last year, but due to some circumstances, I had to change and switch to the next graduation ceremony which is soon. However, recently I didn’t want to wait for the ceremony anymore and opted to just have my degrees be mailed to me.

Upon hearing my decision, my parents were upset. I thought they would support my decision and understood that I didn’t want to go through all of this because to me, it just feels like I’ve done enough for my school and didn’t want to do anything else any more. I didn’t really see the point, I have a full time job now and the only thing left to do uni related was to walk that stage and all that jazz. I tried to explain to my parents my side as to why, but they closed me off, saying that I wasn’t thinking about them, continuing to tell me that the ceremony was for the parents more than students. Please note, aside from still letting me live under their roof, they’ve done nothing else to help my university years. Never contributed to my tuition or books, never helped me start to pay off my student loans, nothing. Groceries and other expenses were also all me.

My siblings understood where I was coming from and respected my decision. But because of my parents, I can’t help but think of the fact that maybe I am an asshole for thinking about me. But it is MY ceremony, not theirs. I understand where they’re coming from too but I just wish they had more empathy and respect for me.
