Hyperphantasia vs photographic memory

Hi! I meet a lot of hyperphantasia criteria but I am unsure if I have it or not as I also have a really good memory. How can I differentiate if it is hyperphantasia vs drawing on my past memories?

Russian comprehension problem

Hello,

I have a problem with russian which is that I am illiterate.

I know the alphabet. I know a lot of words too. But my learning journey--my grandparents started by speaking to me in Russian and so there were like 16 years or so before I sought out learning it besides that passiveness. And so I can't spell to save my life because I don't know how words are written (ik alphabet and if i am reading i can sound things out but i cant look at a word and immediately be like "oh thats blablabla" the way i can when listening.)

So the other problem is that I also can ONLY listen. I pick up like 20% of what is said even in big technical conversations. But when I'm asked to reply I go completely blank.

How do i fix this

Good Russian Music Existence

hey! my mom comes from a russian-speaking ukrainian family but has since "americanized."

The two of us were talking about my obsession with french music and my mom said there's no such thing as good russian music and i want to prove her wrong. Additionally french music helped me get conversational so i hope russian music can do the same for me.

I am curious if there's any artists you like (that hopefully don't support the current situation) and qualify as "good russian music" (my mom said there's "only punk and soviet-era stuff" but i doubt that is true)

So help an american out and enlighten me because i really want to learn!

EDIT: thank you so much everyone! i didn't expect this to take off as much as it did and i am so grateful!

Is it possible for me to be fluent in 7 languages?

TL:DR (N)--Eng. (TL)french russian italian finnish german spanish

Native language is English. Learned french in high school and in three years got to b2 (my brain works well with languages). Currently age 18 so past the point of recommended "language window" and i have a problem.

My family is russian-speaking ukrainian but moved really young so don't know much. I am a1 from what I'm learning and currently using Mezhdu Nami to help.

I am also fascinated by finnish and am taking a free course on aalto university.

Additionally, using duolingo (i know i know.......but we have the family subscription so might as well use it so not wasted money) for italian since we're going in a year and i want to keep learning.

And I live in an area where lots of people are spanish-speaking so it might be helpful for my career.

And two of my favorite musicians sing in german and also for the ashkenazi jewish history i wanna learn.

Assuming I don't die in some freak accident tomorrow thus stopping me from learning, is it possible to be fluent in all seven languages?

How to Stand

I was on a walk with my mom and she remarked how i can't stand properly, saying i slouched and it looked like i had a пузо (russian for "belly") and how i need to stand taller because "you're so small you can't afford to look like you have a пузо and anyways you DONT have one unless you slouch"

for context i have zero ab muscles they do not exist.

And then I was continuing on the walk, all hyperconscious of my posture, and then she said i was too stiff and it would weird people out!

So.

How does one stand properly? Do others struggle with it? Please help.

She later tried to make me feel better by telling me the story of her learning to drive (like mother like daughter she was really bad at it) but driving is supposed to be hard in the beginning and STANDING IS SUPPOSED TO BE A THING YOU CAN DO NATURALLY

help me with gender and pronouns AGH

So, about a year ago I (afab btw) stood in front of the mirror in my room and tested a ton of pronouns on myself. I decided that I don't really vibe with neopronouns and HATE male pronouns. However, neither she nor they feel quite right, i just use she/they because they are the "least wrong" if that makes sense. So am I just stuck with these not-quite-right pronouns because everything else isn't as good? Are there any other options for me?

I can describe my presentation as pretty much everything ranging from hyperfeminine to androgynous and i like that. i am like 80% sure that i vibe with demigirl as a label. It's just the pronouns that are the problem.

and on surveys that only have male female nonbinary as gender i literally just blankstare bc i dont IDENTIFY WITH EITHER OF THOSE NAMES BC I FEEL LIKE IM TOO FEMININE TO BE NONBINARY AND TOO AGENDER TO BE FEMALE

Effective poisons

Unsure if i should tag for crime, chemistry, or weapons so yeah.

I'm writing a murder mystery (I can show you pages if you want proof i'm not just a murderer in disguise--although that would be a cool book idea.....i digress) and the guy needs to be poisoned. A solid poison that gets put into the sugar bowl he makes his coffee with. Should take like 3-4 hours to work or smth bc he has meetings that day and is a little bit off but not a lot.

And I don't want it to be traceable on a tox screen but the thing is that if i google untraceable poisons my parents have a monitor on my home acc and im sure the school account would flag me so now

what does a tox screen search for? would cyanide be visible or does it have other hallmarks? how can i make smth look like a heart attack or uninvestigatable?

once again the only personal use im getting from this is writing my book, NOT ACTUAL MURDER

How to deal with unintentionally ableist comments?

Rant warning: So I was diagnosed dyspraxic at age 4 but didn't find out until age 12 (long story, not the time). When I found out I was dyspraxic, I was like "omigod that makes so much sense." As you can see from my flair, I am the clumsiest person you will meet.

Like, seriously.

For example: There's a giant scar on my leg from a time when I was on a rope swing at a class retreat and I missed the platform and smashed my leg into it. Yes, in front of all 87 people in my class.

Now, being a high schooler, people talk. And they say things that hurt, especially since IM NOT TRYING TO BE THIS CLUMSY! I've been to OT when I was younger (actually before I knew I was diagnosed--yes I thought it was as normal for people to go to as swim lessons) and my mom is now an OT so she helps me out. I've had vision therapy to help with the depth perception issues.

I don't like telling people I'm dyspraxic. It however means:

-I was nicknamed 'crash' for the entirety of my freshman year after the rope swing incident

- i volunteer at a hospital and i was stationed in pt-rehab. it was a bad day and my partner in the shift kept making jokes and rude comments about it. at one point after when dragging a crashpad and tripping on it and flopping, he said 'how is it possible for one person to be this dysfunctional?' and it just echoed in my mind.

it was a sarcastic joke and he didn't know i was dyspraxic but ughhhh

and one of my ex-friends used to say stuff like that.

How should i react when people say stuff like this? should i do anything? i hate being 'the clumsy one' but it is inevitable!

Unsure if I have Autism or Just My Other Neurodivergences

hi! 17-year-old girl here! i literally created this account to ask this question so I hope it gets seen. I've been wondering if I have autism for a while, and I asked my mom (an occupational therapist who works with middle and high schoolers) and we basically decided there is no way to know.

FOR CONTEXT:

I have social anxiety and because of that I mask a lot.

I have hyperfixations (eurovision, the pitt, babel by r f kuang, breakup of yugoslavia, linguistics (specifically indo-european)) but they seem more mild than that of my dad and best friend (both diagnosed level 1)

I was diagnosed with dyspraxia at the age of 4 and have sensory processing issues (which, again, could just be dyspraxia)

I am also gifted, and that taken with everything together means that it kinda covers a lot of bases. My mom said I could get evaluated if i want to but I would feel guilty if it is negative bc it is a LOT of money.

Aspie score was 128 and i don't have my screenshot of the map.

AQ was 28 (hehe ig my scores like the number 28)

I'm willing to answer more questions about sensory profile and habits and whatnot if it means i can get answers!
