Remember my “humiliation ritual” post from the other week? Well, I got laid off today. 😂💀
Two weeks ago, I posted here how being a copywriter in the corporate world is a daily humiliation ritual. Well, I’m here to follow up that I got laid off today. 🤣 In fact, six of us (copywriters and graphic designers) got laid off today from my team at a major retail company. All that remains is the Creative VP and the motion graphics designer. They’ve decided to move forward with an external agency and use AI.
The department is absolutely f*cked with 70 active projects my team was working on. Good riddance, thanks for the severance. ✌🏻 And best of luck out there, y’all. 💖
Missed Connection For Friend - Rittenhouse Saturday
Posting for my friend!
-
You were sitting on a blanket near me and a friend on the patch of grass on the Walnut St. side of rittenhouse during the afternoon around 1-2 pm last Saturday, reading a book. We caught eye contact a few times for a decent amount of time; it felt like you were giving me a opportunity to say something, but I lost my nerve and just complimented your outfit as you walked away instead.
If this is you: I’d love a do-over. I’d also actually like to know what you were reading.
First color tattoo is ouchy - could use advice
Obligatory “does this look normal?” post. On Day 5 of my first color tattoo. Been a rough heal so far, so still not sure if this is normal. It bleed through the second skin quickly, so I had to take it off a few hours in. (Assuming the artist overworked this one?) Currently, it’s rough and scabby. Last night, it was mushy, so I stopped washing and moisturizing it today. Pink around the area. Feels like a scab and will randomly sting. Please be kind. Ty!

Hey all! I have 2 free tickets to see Obsession 6pm Thursday (today) at Film Society Bourse - 400 Ranstead. I accidentally had them sitting in my cart still at the time of purchase. Whoever wants them, they’re yours! Feel free to message me directly. :)
Being a copywriter in the corporate world has become a daily humiliation ritual
I’m the copy manager for a big retail brand, and have been there for 11 years. It’s been absolutely wild to watch over a decade of work get demolished by AI in the last year. I know I’m not alone here. We’re all going through this. But god damn, I have never been more humiliated in my career than I have the last few months alone. Presenting work to the C-Suite and being told to “run it through AI” week after week. These are dark times for the copywriting world. How is everyone doing? Has anyone successfully pivoted careers?
Posting this in solidarity. Keep the humanity in copywriting. 🤘
What’s up with Seed being sold out forever??
An NP introduced me to free samples of the Seed VS-01 Vaginal Synbiotic a few months ago to help with my never-ending BV, and I just have a month and a half left of the Sustain before I run out.
Apparently they’ve been sold out on their site for a long time, and when I reached out to customer service, they gave no restock date. What gives?! Has anyone actually been able to order them so far this year? Anyone have any alternatives? I’m so bummed to no longer have access to it soon. :/
Aging Millennial Hipster looking for new friendships/community in my mid 30s
Hiya folks! Posting this on behalf of my friend. He’s a solid dude and one of the good ones. 🤘

Hiya yall. 35M here from Philly, born and raised.
The last few years have been pretty turbulent. Between tech layoffs, moving back to my home (born and raised in Philly proper) from NYC, and the gradual drift that can happen with friendships over time, I've found myself in a place I never expected to be: feeling like I need to rebuild my community from the ground up.
I'd love to meet people who are open to making new friends, whether you're also navigating a big life transition or just looking to expand your circle. I'm into art, culture, gaming, books, good conversation, and generally anything that gets people together. I'd be down for things like book clubs, pottery or art classes, D&D/TCG groups, local events, coffee meetups, or just exploring the city.
I know first impressions can be misleading, but I'm a pretty laid-back, open-minded person who genuinely enjoys getting to know people from different backgrounds and perspectives. And if anyone is willing to hang out with an aging millennial hipster who mostly wants to grab a coffee, talk about life, and shoot the shit, even better.
If any of this resonates with you, feel free to reach out. I'd love to connect with some fellow Philadelphians and build some new friendships.
