Okay so to summarise, my job uses this really tedious app to handle our clocking in, scheduling and holidays. We recently switched over from a much simpler system.

Basically two days next week I am unavailable for the entire day, (Tuesday and Wednesday) I had first been unavailable for only one day (the Tuesday), then a friend had invited me to a birthday celebration, (I don’t get to see this friend often) and since I hadn’t yet had my schedule, so I of course said yes. I then went onto my work app and added I was unavailability for Wednesday as well. When requesting the birthday date off, I literally saw that my previous unavailability date was still registered.

Fast forward to today, my boss put me on a shift on Tuesday. Now since I have three shifts that week (16 hour contract - so minimum is two shifts a week) I requested to have that one date removed as I was unavailable.

My boss didn’t understand at first and tried to move that shift to the day of my friends birthday, the Wednesday. And I had to politely go back and forth with my manager and I could tell they were getting more annoyed and proceeded to say that any unavailability not noted down will not be honoured. But the thing is, both days were noted down?? The work apps system for some reason overrode the initial request and so only showed I was unavailable the Wednesday. Because I felt bad for causing confusion I even offered to work different days next week in order to make up for the removed shift, but my boss has now left me on delivered.

Now yes these things happen, but I have dedicated commitments both days that I cannot rearrange. I just find it ridiculous my boss gave me an attitude when I already explained that it wasn’t my fault and that I had noted both down. I am already having to do days worth of overtime due to our work firing a full time coworker (DURING PEAK TOURIST SEASON MIND YOU) and it’s putting stress on everyone.

This is why I hate these work apps which usually crash and go down. They’re never as reliable as they need to be!!

Wasn’t entirely sure how to word the title because of how messy this situation is. But to summarise, one of my best friends since the start of the year has become incredibly distant. They said it’s due to mental health, which is understandable.
I didn’t know why they grew distant and when I asked them about it they explained that I had on a few separate occasions upset them over small things that they never addressed at the time. However, they apologised for not communicating with me and acknowledged the fact they should have and that they wanted to go back to how we used to be (their words). I apologised to them profusely, I never ever wanted to upset them as they’re my best friend.
Since about spring they have gotten close with an ex friend of mine who spread rumours about me and tried to force other friends of mine to end any relationship with me. To this day I don’t know why that ex friend hates me so much, and I feel so hurt knowing that my best friend is now close to the person they know hurt me so much. They even believed some of the lies ex friend told them. I feel defeated as I don’t want to loose my best friend, but they clearly aren’t acting like a best friend and obviously don’t care, as they’ve barely spoken to me since I messaged them about their distance. It got better for a moment but it’s back to basically zero communication. I don’t know what to do as I can’t entirely distance myself from this friend as we’re in the same course.

I just don’t know what to do anymore.

Not sure why this happened but I just wanted to pay for something and the Klarna card changed the amount by 1p, but because that was lower then the items total my Klarna card got declined. Never had this happen before as I know for a fact I inputted the amount correct and I tested it again and once again for some reason the card lowered the amount by 1p? Not sure why this happened as this has never happened before and wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Felt kinda embarrassed when my card declined 💔
