"18-year-old files civil rights complaint after Arkansas State Trooper punches her in the face during traffic stop; dash cam footage sparks online outrage as officer remains on duty."

An 18-year-old driver has filed a civil rights complaint following a violent traffic stop involving Arkansas State Trooper Moisses Arellano. The teenager was initially pulled over for driving 71 mph in a 60-mph zone while running her vehicle's hazard lights, later explaining to the officer that she was rushing home due to a broken car window.

Dashcam footage from the incident shows the officer aggressively throwing the girl to the ground and punching her in the face while she begged to call her mother. In the official Arkansas State Police report, Trooper Arellano stated the girl was "being difficult," writing: "After giving multiple commands for her to roll over without compliance, I delivered one closed-fist strike to the left side of her face in an attempt to gain compliance."

The release of the video has sparked widespread outrage online. While the Arkansas State Police have confirmed an internal investigation is underway, as of August 12, Officer Arellano has not been placed on administrative leave.

Zoning reform feels~

As someone new to this area and very grateful to be here. So far, loveeee it.

Previous favorites I have lived are Fort Collins, CO and Ardmore, PA. Both of those have a wonderful blend of housing imo.

I am curious, how do residents feel about the zoning reform here?

I saw it on the news (online) and read the main stream comments and it was very prejudice, unwelcoming, and claiming it would ruin everything that makes Oak Park, Oak Park.

I saw the previous post on here speaking about it and I got the feel folks are happy about it.

I am VERY new to Oak Park, I am unaware of the town feels, so I am asking, how do the residents feel?

Please educate me (:

I wish I could be at the August 4th meeting, but I will be at my local union meeting and can't make it.

Possible earthquake in North wales

Did anyone feel an earthquake in the region? Out of nowhere our entire house shook, startling the dogs awake, and even my spouse yelled from upstairs making sure I was okay.

I have experienced an earth quake before and this felt just like that. Crazy 🤯

No other neighbors outside. Any idea what else might make an entire house shake?

edit: it was the quarry. I somehow never have felt its rumbles.

Hit deer

Today I passed by a hit deer. And now I just feel like shit.

Long story:

I stopped for it because I noticed it was still alive and I wanted to get it to the grass off the road.. or help it get there. However, all I did was hurt it more. It freaked out and started dragging itself while screaming.

People driving by (cobbs creek near island) looking at me like I am crazy and one guy yelling out, someone already hit it what are you gonna do..

Idk what I thought I would realistically do because I had nothing helpful on me, but I feel awful. Maybe I hoped someone else would assist me in the mission or cars would stop long enough to help it.. I am at work and cannot get the deer out of my head. The amount of road kill I see here is higher than most other places I lived in. I feel like shit about it.

I made a call and to no avail. No one would come for the deer.

*edit: I have worked on farms raising and processing. I have hunted. And I fish often. Road kill is just a pointless death that upsets me.

  • edit: yeah it should've been dispatched. I wish i could've put it out its misery. The initial person to hit it should've called it in. I tried to call it in to no avail. Unsure why I am down voted for trying to get it out of the left lane.
