"18-year-old files civil rights complaint after Arkansas State Trooper punches her in the face during traffic stop; dash cam footage sparks online outrage as officer remains on duty."

An 18-year-old driver has filed a civil rights complaint following a violent traffic stop involving Arkansas State Trooper Moisses Arellano. The teenager was initially pulled over for driving 71 mph in a 60-mph zone while running her vehicle's hazard lights, later explaining to the officer that she was rushing home due to a broken car window.

Dashcam footage from the incident shows the officer aggressively throwing the girl to the ground and punching her in the face while she begged to call her mother. In the official Arkansas State Police report, Trooper Arellano stated the girl was "being difficult," writing: "After giving multiple commands for her to roll over without compliance, I delivered one closed-fist strike to the left side of her face in an attempt to gain compliance."

The release of the video has sparked widespread outrage online. While the Arkansas State Police have confirmed an internal investigation is underway, as of August 12, Officer Arellano has not been placed on administrative leave.

Court Orders Release of José Trinidad Rojas Pliego Key Witness to the ICE Killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo

https://www.eyesonice.net/p/judge-ordered-the-release-of-jose

On July 29, 2026, a federal judge ordered the release of José Trinidad Rojas Pliego. His habeas petition forced the government to open a door it wanted sealed.

Rojas Pliego’s sworn account is direct: ICE lied.

He describes unmarked vehicles chasing and ramming Lorenzo’s van. He states that when the shots were fired, no officer was standing in front of or behind the vehicle—they were standing off to the sides. They were not in danger. There was no threat that justified killing Lorenzo.

His account matches the sworn statement of Daniel Tirado Pantoja, who remains detained. Tirado Pantoja testified that Lorenzo was in the process of putting the van into park when officers opened fire.

He was stopping. He was complying. He was killed anyway.

Honor thy father and thy mother, indeed!

By the bye, when I was a boy and studied chemistry, I had to wear goggles during all experiments.
