General knowledge help needed on 65-69 mustangs

Whats up guys, I’m looking to see about getting a project mustang between the 65-69 range just because I’m in love with the body style of these years (as many people are) and honestly have no clue other than reading a few forums. What are things to look out for/watch for, things to be prepared for, all of it in restoring one of these cars. I’m generally good with mechanic work in general and have worked in a garage for a couple years so I know my way around an engine but nothing super in-depth. What are some general things and/or specific things I should be on the lookout for when buying a project of this capacity? Obviously I don’t want to get into something stupid full of rust and where I will have to spend a FUCK ton of money to fix up but I’m willing to spend a decent chunk to get one in a semi good shape. What would be some good prices on these as well?

Rec’s on good project/beginner bikes

Unfortunately think my project bike I have is a little over my head and thinking about trying to get something a little easier to work on as I’m a new rider and am generally good with basic/intermediate mechanical knowledge, not a scrub but not a gear head. What would be a good beginner bike to 1) learn riding on and 2) be something fairly easy to work on and maintenance-able? I don’t love sport bikes so looking more for a cruiser or something just to enjoy on some weekend rides or an occasional Friday work ride

1982 Honda CB650 Help Needed!

So I’ve got a 1982 Honda CB650 that I’ve been working on as a project but I’ve run into a problem now. I put all new jets in the carbs and have fully soaked all of the carbs in an ultrasonic bath. When I run the bike I can run perfectly at idle when choke is MAYBE 1/4 of the way on, or if i put tension on the throttle when choke is off (Idling around 1200-1500). The minute i release the tension on the throttle with no choke, she dies. Vacuum’s are showing “late valve timing or leak at intake manifold”. What would be the best ways to go about checking what could be wrong? Stretched throttle cable? Cracked boots? Need some advice as I’m not familiar with these at ALL and should have done more research but we all start somewhere…

1982 Honda CB650A Carb Help Needed

So digging into my carbs, I have found what I **think** is the issue, which is my slow jets, problem now is, what do I do if it looks like there is not ANY slot for them? Meaning the slow jet themselves appear to be fully smooth with absolutely no way of removing and cleaning or replacing them. I’m so done with this project now I’m about to just sell it as is to someone and take the loss if I can’t figure this out. Bike runs perfect on choke and dies immediately when turning choke off so im like 99.99% certain this is it, but does anyone have any suggestions? Anyone that I can connect with to help me figure it out?
