Hello I’m the parent of an adult who was diagnosed with Gastroparesis.

They are 33, female. Recently hospitalized after two months of no food, frequent vomiting, nausea, stomach pain.

It was our 3rd ER visit when they finally admitted her - incredibly frustrating and awful. She has severe vitamin deficiencies now and getting pumped full of magnesium, potassium, B12, thiamine…

It’s awful to watch your kid suffer and unable to get help until near collapse. Are there another parents here looking for information. How are you handling this? I’m not doing so well.

I really need some good news, light reading, something interesting. Nothing dark

We are new to this illness.

My daughter 33, was suddenly hit with it in the beginning of July and has lost over 30lbs. so far.

We found a GI who performed a endoscopy and said, everything is fine just eat! There’s no reason you can’t eat! 🙄

We didn’t know what was wrong until the stomach-emptying test, which gave us a diagnosis and brought us here to this support group

The new GI seems competent and fluent in Motility meds etc.

We are currently in the ER again for IVs

Thank you to everyone in this group for the quick education which is essential in understanding the terminology

This is a terrible illness

I’m looking to read something from the southern viewpoint about the US Civil War ? The causes, beliefs, views on Lincoln etc

(I’m reading chronologically through the US Presidents)

I’m interested in a bipap st Resmed 10 price

How do you decide between a Home Equity (10 yr - fixed) and HELOC (variable) loan? We have to replace our roof. House is paid off.

I’ve had migraines for about 10-15 years. I’ve been on HRT about 5 years ( estrogen patch once a week, progesterone pill daily) neither are high dose.

I was at my annual OBGYN appt and mentioned my migraines and seeing a neurologist (they which meds I take).

My OBGYN doctor said I’d probably have to stop estrogen because of migraine/stroke risk ?!

Anyone else have migraine on estrogen? Seems weird this wasnt brought up before

I’m finally feeling “even” kwim?

I’m reading about each president chronologically. I just started Abraham Lincoln.

Are there any best reads for him?

I’ll probably be on him and perhaps some civil war era books for a while

Is getting migraines before storms a thing?

I was diagnosed with apnea about two years ago (?)

They put me on cpap which we learned wasn’t helping (after it was paid off).

Then I tried bipap and that wasn’t helping (after it was also paid off!)

For over a year the insurance still keeps denying the doctor’s order for bipapST. (Even though insurance paid very little of the other machines)

After a year of waiting for insurance (and suffering with awful sleep), I decided to rent a bipapST machine myself so that I could test it before I paid for another dang machine! I found a place online, submitted the script and it was here in two days! For under $100.

I’ve now been on bipapST just over two weeks and my numbers of events have finally dropped from 20-35+ to under 5 !!! It’s not perfect, I’m still waking and tired, but it’s better!

I let my doctor know and sent them the charts. (Thank you every one here for teaching me!)

The doctor is setting up a peer to peer review to persuade the insurance company to do what they should have done a year ago. (I will probably end up having to buy a bipapST myself, on top of paying my insurance company premium for doing nothing.)

Rant: We all know that insurance companies are destroying people’s lives for just a few thousand dollars at a time. We pay for insurance through work and through taxes, and we get less and less for it. 🔥 they should take some profit yeah, but not destroy people’s lives to do it. It’s disgusting

I’ll update again in a few weeks

Buffalo, NY. Are there any groups or informal gatherings of tinkerers that know a bit about DIY solar to teach others?

Are there any tinkerers out there? Any groups that get together to learn to put DIY Solar together?

What do you do about eating? Paper bag ? I need Simple Ideas on what to include to eat . Thank you!

My taxes went from $900 to $2100 in Black Rock.

I live with:
-boarded up houses on my block - houses that have been vacant MANY years,

-a neighbor who flooded my yard for 7 years while the city did nothing which destroyed my beautiful gardens

-garbage men who continue to litter more than anyone else every dang garbage day,

-police who never show up,

-diseased trees that the city planted on our street (fungus?) while the beautiful trees were/are hacked down to ugly stubs

-all the main streets have been without traffic lines,

-contaminated beaches,

… with garbage fees, taxes, water bills, electricity, all continuing to rise.

Crackheads hunched over

Garbage dumping (tires, mattresses), littering (can we do something about littering!)

And, I’m being taxed on unrealized gains
