2018 Volvo xc90 Inscription

Hi everyone,

We have haf a 2007 Volvo XC90 for the last 12yrs. My wife wants another one. I just saw a 2018 volvo xc90 Inscription with 70k miles, one owner, for $19k.

I see a lot of people say to stay clear due to the 2 Turbos, making the engine more complex, thus more prone to issues.

Any suggestions/recommendations? Should we stay clear and just go for for a T5 momentum or... ?

Any advice is appreciated as our car knowledge is limited, at best.

Need advice

As a homeowner, as you all know, you must do some things on your own. We had a bathroom leak from upstairs to our downstairs family room. Called a contractor fixed the issue. Now, I am trying to fix /patch these openings myself. However, the ceiling is not sheet rock, it is plaster. So, I eas thinking of patching these with sheet rock, but, the depth/thickness is much bigger than that of a sheet rock. How do I make it such the sheet rock is flush with the remaining rest of the ceiling? Do I nail something else first (what would that be?) And than nail the sheet rock above that?

Any advice is much appreciated.

Very interested in getting a German Shepherd

Hi everyone,

I have wanted a German Shepherd since I was maybe 10 (45 now). When I was young, my dad agreed to get a dog for me, but he had to sleep outside (my dad was going to build him a dog house), I disagreed(this was in Europe, back in those days dogs inside the house was not common, at least not in our culture). Either the dog stays with me in my room or I don't want one. So, fast forward 35yrs, I have a house, the yard, the time, and money to buy one.

What questions should I ask the breeder (they are in Connecticut). Even though I am certain my dog will be the best behaved dog in town, because I will make sure of it, I want to make sure I am as well-informed as possible. BTW, I am looking at working line GS.

Any guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks

Visiting Quebec City

Hi everyone,

We are planning on visiting Quebec City during the first week of August. We have been to Montreal twice, but now its time for Quebec City. Our main question is: is 3 days enough? We are coming with 2 teenagers(boys), so we do not want to stay too long and have them "bored" but I definitely do not want to rush either. We love coffee shops, so please feel free to share any must visit coffee shops, and other places that we should visit. Sorry, I do not speak French, unfortunately. We are originally from Europe, but now live in the US. After visiting Montreal, once, we visited Toronto, Montreal again, and now Quebec City. We love it up north.

Thanks

Early Decision

Hi everyone,

We started visiting colleges and my son is torn between 4, 5. Granted, he does realize some of these are a little bit of a stretch.

Penn State, Syracuse, Fordham, America University, George Washington, Uconn, Seton Hall. The top 2 on of this list are Fordham and American University...GW, Syracuse, Uconn and Penn State are next, and Seton Hall last. He wants to increase his chances, however slightly that might be, by declaring ED. Will American or Fordham value ED more (not even sure if that's a thing 🤔). How about the other ones on the list? I know this is a broad, weird question as no one really knows, but a general idea, anecdotally speaking.

I just called TMobile to see what can I do to reduce my monthly bill. I found out I have been paying for insurance on 2 out of 4 phones on my plan. I have been paying since January 2024, almost 2 and half years ago. So, now they are blaming me for not seeing my bill earlier and all they can reimburse me for is for 5 months. Can someone please tell me this is not stealing from Tmobile?? This happened to me almost a year ago and now again.

I have been a customer since 2011 and they steal my money? I am beyond upset. I wish I had the time to go through my bills and everything else with a fine comb...but unfortunately life does not allow me to do that.

I am escalating this above the supervisor that's on the phone with me. At this point it is a matter of principle.
